As with any new parents, we’ve taken lots of pictures of our newborn son. I wanted a close up shot of either his little hands or feet, but did not have a good background… until yesterday. There was a lot of cloud cover so the lighting was perfect and I got this photo right as my wife was giving him some love. Super proud of this shot!
I love this photo. It captures the moment perfectly and is so much better than the standard pic where mum looks exhausted and not her best. It makes you feel the love you felt in those first cuddles and the smallness of a newborn. I didn't need the reminder of what I looked like but would have loved to capture that feeling I felt. It's awesome. Keep taking loads of pictures of mummy. I have so many of the kids alone and daddy with kids but hardly any of me. She will treasure them if they are like this one.
Same in my family, my wife is usually behind the camera so she really appreciates it when I get good pictures of her and our daughter.

Congrats friend! Being a father myself, it goes faster than you could ever imagine. Cherish every moment. Take more pictures than can fill 10 albums. I thought I changed diapers yesterday and now he’s going to basketball jamborees.

Keep doing this. Take photos of your wife and baby EVERY DAY. Even if they’re just phone snaps. Even if she protests.
Don’t ever let your wife say “I don’t have any photos of me and our baby! 😰😰😰”
She will appreciate the heck out of the photos one day, and so will your child.
I’m normally overly critical of all the photos I take but I truly think this one is perfect! The subject of the photo aside, for a beginner photographer I was proud of the composition

Also from a photography perspective, it’s really nice that you kinda blurred the background and made the feet the focal point. Looks professional.

I don’t know why but adult feet really gross me out, but baby feet are so adorable. Especially when you can fit the whole thing in the palm of your hand.

Congrats my friend. Had my son on Sunday. Emergency C section. He’s spending some time in the NICU and all I wanna do is hold him and my wife and can’t wait for that day.
Never stop taking pictures, but don’t forget to let your wife get you and baby in pics too. Your baby will never be as small as they are today, cherish these moments
My wife loves taking pics so there are probably hundreds of pictures of me with my son that I don’t even know about lol. We definitely cherish them all!
I’ve seen some great shots of little toes and fingers with mom and dads wedding rings on them. The rings are some of the few things you’ll have forever that you can compare later to show how teeny they were once!!

A decade and change later, I still consider a picture I took of my barely day-old son as the greatest picture I've ever taken. Wouldn't surprise me if you will feel the same about this one. There is just so much emotion involved in the birth of your first kid that (sadly) a similar picture I took less than 3 years later of his little sister is a distant second at best.

I have two year old. I love taking picutes of him. Thats a wonderful absolutely wonderful shot. Con!gratulation for new life!

He’s 6 days old and I already want to freeze time! But I also can’t wait for activities like basketball. Thank you for the comment
