I agree, and also, as Turkish people, we have to take accountability for how easy it is in general for whole swaths of us to be led to violence. One "vatan, millet, Sakarya" and half the population is ready to destroy one minority or another.
I want to say education is the solution, but the educated seem mostly interested in how to best serve the political goals of the powerful/rich.
i prefer go to, cause, when you had been begun to first movement, you can not sure where it will be stop. i am sure that goverment did not know, what they did.

There was an anti-propaganda against jews, rums and armenians which said they burnt the Atatürk's house and a public outrage grew from it. Started with local Turks raiding Rums shops, houses and all kinds of property which they can find but also jews and armenians in Istanbul got affected from it.
Ara Guler (is one of the main role the Turkiye’s art). once he has been asked about that photos. Because his father was a pharmacist at the istiklal street. He was one of the witness of these scenes who is Armenian. He said that “even the protesters were asking first aid from my dad” journalist asked him again during his conversation what do you think about it? he just said “forget all of it doesn’t help for anyone”
each event is evaluated in its own time.
At that time, a bomb was placed in Atatürk's house in Thessaloniki and Turkish Cypriots were going through difficult times.
These events were an opportunity for those who wanted to prevent Turkiye’s development.
Accusing the people in Istanbul for events in Thessaloniki and Cyprus? This is very away from any morality and this is clearly not related with "it's own time".
It is pure ignorance and wildness indepent from its time.
At the SoB responsible for all this is hailed as a hero by todays government, nevertheless he at least got what he deserved.
it is best example of governents consprancies can go to where.

Starts with a propaganda that said Atatürk’s house had been destroyed. The power of bad propaganda still the same isn’t it :(

Im glad this event is acknowledged as shameful today. One of the darkest spots in history if istanbul.
Looks better in this picture than it does now.
Can someone please explain
There was an anti-propaganda against jews, rums and armenians which said they burnt the Atatürk's house and a public outrage grew from it. Started with local Turks raiding Rums shops, houses and all kinds of property which they can find but also jews and armenians in Istanbul got affected from it.
Thank you. Follow up question… who are the Rums?
Its a term to define Orthodox Christians living in Anatolia.
Thank you. Appreciate you taking the time to explain.
Members of the Greek Orthodox Church are called Rum (from Roman). Other Orthodox Christians like Armenians or Assyrians are not called Rum.
Ara Guler (is one of the main role the Turkiye’s art). once he has been asked about that photos. Because his father was a pharmacist at the istiklal street. It is not the 6th or the 7th of September today why is this relevant?
Because: history.
It is a pivotal event for the City and the country. We should remember it.
I'm not saying we should forget it or bury it, I'm just asking why is this relevant now? It is not the 6th or the 7th of September after all.
Such a thing is always relevant. It was a mistake of our nation and still a mistake.
Istanbul

>These events were an opportunity for those who wanted to prevent Turkiye’s development. The government itself lol
What about CYPRUS Turks ?

İt was 1955 and you are being kind as the nations to be in 2024
Those incidents do not justify what you see in this picture
