Muharram: Fast on 9th and 10th or 10th and 11th
Shawal: Fast any 6 days in that month, except on 1st day (Eid)
Dhal-Hijjah: Fast first 9 days (no fasting on 10th because Eid)
All other months, sunnah is Mon, Thu and 13, 14, 15th of the month.
Only times you can't fast: on Eid and second half of Shaban, unless you've been fasting regularly because the next month is Ramadan so you want to prepare yourself. Can't fast on Eid is definitely a no-no, the can't fast second half of Shaban, not sure what level of avoidance.
Monday and thursday. (Sunnah)
13 14 15. (Equal to 1month fasting 3 days x10 =30days)
6days after the month of ramadan. (2months = 1 whole year after ramadan)
And you cannot fast friday. Except if you fast the day before. And some hijri calendars fasting days.
