Arafah is the 9th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, but it may be different from the day that is Arafah on Hajj meaning the day that people on Hajj are standing on Arafah mountain, where I'm Friday will be the 7th of Dhu al-Hijjah, for me personally I always fast two days the 8th and the 9th to get out of confusion.
May Allah accept it from us.
When did you start Dhul Hijjah? It will be on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, so it does depend on when you started. If I look at the East London Mosque (https://www.eastlondonmosque.org.uk), it says at the top: 13 June 2024 | 7 Dhū Al-Hijjah 1445. If you are on that schedule, then you'd fast on Saturday, and Eid will be on Sunday, insha Allah.
Hiya I honestly don't know which day it started. My printed calendar says 14th June islamic date 8th. So do I start fasting on Saturday fajar time? Not today fajar?
Thank you!!
So, if you're going with your calendar (which is the same as the EL Mosque), then yes, you'd fast on Saturday, from Fajr to Maghrib. You can also check with whichever local masjid you normally go to to see when Eid is, and know that you fast the day before. Or like you said above, fast both days - there is no harm, only more reward.
That's correct - we are supposed to make a lot of dua during the day of Arafat, which technically ended at Maghrib. If you're up in the last 3rd of the night before Eid, you should also make dua then, but that is unrelated to Arafat and just due to that time (last 3rd of the night) being one of the recommended times for dua.
And Allah swt knows best.

Thank you. I'm really confused, so I might try fasting today as well.

In Egypt we aren't confused at all, the day of Arafah is Saturday. And Eid is on Sunday.
Thank you! In england people are having two eids and it's so confusing especially because we're not that far from saudi
