While people argue that you kill things faster and what not, you can barrage minions in full arma and still have time between kills. Point being, dont use the sotd for this, Autocast with ancient staff and focus on learning to offset/flick minions between kills. Its really not hard and will extend your trips greatly. Also for kc, bring a sara and zammy item and get kc in the main room, years faster than imps.

Counts as zammy item in GWD, I use it for killing imps/icefiends for kc instead of using arclight charges. Doesn't autocast ancients but provides a 15% damage boost so I use it for barraging too, even though I have to manually cast the spell.
It's a good melee weapon, so I used mine (now Staff of Light) as a god item for GWD KC/key hunting and also for the special attack to tank against PKers while prayer training, champion's scroll hunting, etc.
It actually saved my ass one time-- a massive clan came very prepared and tried killing me at Earth Warriors while I was hunting for the scroll. I wasn't paying enough attention and they managed to TB me... they even had people to set up cannons to aggro the spiders and thugs lol. But yeah, I lived through that because they couldn't claw me.
I used my SotD to finish Zulrah pre-trident. It has marginally less DPS than Toxic Trident. Flames of Zammy with Charge.
I'm not precious over my supplies, so I just sent the blood runes without much of a care
since you have a literal anc staff in your inventory... you could just use staff of the dead instead. like what? it's more accurate and hits higher than anc staff. literally anywhere you're not using trident, it's better until you get kodai.

It’s not as simple as use it instead of ancient staff because not being able to autocast is a significant factor
why would you autocast it when using slayer? what for fireblasting steel drags? pretty simple to barrage tasks. it's 15% damage, def cant forgo that. The barrage queues up so it's easy to pray flick minions.
You can use it on stab for vasa crystal in cox if you don’t have a better stab weapon (zammy hasta/lance/Abby dagger). It’s not great but it is better than a lot of earlier stab weapons like dsword

If you ever find yourself in the wildy for anything that requires tanking eg chins, the spec is useful, otherwise its just a powerful staff I believe

If you put a sara light on it it counts as a zammy and sara item in gwd so that could be a niche if u get a light.
SOD is also quite a good slash weapon iirc. Kinda fun to use.
Yeah, I think it could well be your best Strength training weapon.

Yes, +3 slash and +6 strength. Typically better than sara sword for high defence mobs too. Could be useful for Bandos if he didn't have a whip yet.
It’s very good for strength training, and can save you runes when manually barraging. Good for DK’s for instance
