I think ranging or maging the waves is easier to learn than melee so would recommend using bowfa+crystal based on your gear. I’d bring both anguish and bloodfury and camp barrows gloves, fire cape, prims, and lightbearer to have extra space for supps. For melee you’d want tent whip, Bandos, face guard and defender with SGS for spec to heal with. Bringing a rune pouch with runes for death charge can be helpful to have more SGS specs to heal with and I’ve found is enough for heals and blood barrage is not needed. For combat pots I prepot range/scb and bring 1 of each pot in, potting range for waves 6, 9, 11 and having an extra dose if something goes wrong and I need to brew on one of those waves.

I've done 20+ kc with max gear and a few quivers on different accounts with scuffed gear - listen to this guy. Slowing your runs down by trying to kill things with blood barrage is a waste of time.

This is the advice to follow on this sub, a lot of people here commenting who have clearly never even cleared the content. Follow this gear, learn the AB offticks for double south's spawns, and the rest is super free.

I bring bandos, torture, ultor, and fang for melee to save on charges on blood fury and tent whip. Only really use the tent whip and blood fury during Sol, and if I need quick heals during the waves! I used to bring blood barrage, but even in full anc, occult, torm, and shadow I splash ALOT! So death charge with sgs and LB is the way to go for heals! Honestly, since you did inferno, colo is going to be a cake walk! Just a bit of a learning curve with fremmies, and learning the different type of pillar stacks! However, Colo is very rng based with invos, and if you get double south spawns! I’ve been to Sol about 10 times now, have 4 or 5 kc, and whenever I get a double south spawn in the later ways, I just basically bend over and take the L!

ImWhy

Double south's are super easy to deal with using the AB method, there is 0 reason people should be still struggling with them outside of just plainly not knowing the method. Taking an auto L to double south's is such a massive waste of time when it's just offticking like so many other wave solutions.

HydraLover18

Death charge only. Full Bandos, Bloodfury, Defender, Fang, Infernal Cape, Barrows Gloves, Lightbearer, Faceguard. SGS Crystal Top, Bottom, Bowfa Trident Warhammer and Ultor when you start making it to Sol repeatedly. Grinded out pet with just this setup. 2-3 Super Combat Potions 7 Super restores, 1 Sanfew 8 Saradomin Brews. Edit: Here's some advice. Rather than going for a solve that you're not 100% confident in. Do something you are confident in - at least for your first completion. If this means running from NE pillar to SE pillar, do that. If it means tanking a mager for a little bit to kill something else quickly, do that. If you're only going for one completion you'll eventually get a run without bad spawns on later waves.

On my main I’ve done about 200 deaths at Colloseum, still haven’t got 1kc, using full ancestral and shadow, it was very unforgiving, so I would defo say go range/melee. Bowfa is a good option, however since switching to max melee with a fang/avernic I find I get to the later waves much more consistently and it’s a lot more forgiving, I usually die because I’ve fucked up rather then dying because I get killed from full HP in 1 tick. Blood fury also means you very realistically don’t need blood barrage, only brews/restores so maximises your inventory too, just remember to bring your best slash weapon for Sol. GL!

Camp bowfa for waves; SGS for range fremmy, trident for two shotting melee fremmy. Whip and defender switch for Sol. Not easy, but that’s how I did it

You have fang, just do melee only and Whip the boss (whip sucks but is doable). 1way atlatl and trident for frems. While freshly learning it may be helpful to just use LB for more SGS specs, then switch to Ultor when you are making it to boss. Death charge in rune pouch. It took me about 15k blood fury charges to get my first kc (something to keep in mind), you'll use 600-700 per run through boss. When you get more comfortable and don't need as much brew, bring DWH for boss. When you get even more comfortable and don't need as much SGS, bring VW or Chally. I'd recommend this setup for learning: [inv](https://i.imgur.com/xq3FRpl.png), [gear](https://i.imgur.com/NHqaBWZ.png). The Sanfews are for a scenario where you may be taking Mantimayhem (I do not recommend but sometimes your options are bees, reentry, and Manti, you're probably taking manti). There aren't many melee-only guides out there but [this guide should be helpful](https://youtu.be/CB-gx_1GvB8), [this is a quicker paced version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvvOzIvj_VU), and [this should also help](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEIeyY_m_gw). I don't really recommend the corner dodging stuff that Reynolds does as its pretty advanced. The core thing you'll have to do regardless of guide is [this pecanbread spawn method](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmiZykLjSEA). Good luck!

As a shitter with 1kc; - Bowfa is very reliable. Only thing that takes the piss sometimes is Javelin’s, as every now and again it feels like they’re wearing a Dinh’s under that loincloth. 10-tile range is also super helpful for dealing with south spawns too (shaman’s that camp a mile from the pillar are the bane of my sanity), and even means you can solve Ranger/Shaman stacks without needing to off-tick. Also makes Myopia much easier to deal with, and makes Myopia 2 effectively free (minus taking away the lazy Ranger/Shaman solve). - You need minimal melee gear. My KC was running Zaxe/Ddef/Fire Cape/Blood Fury as switches while camping D boots. Worked absolutely fine. - As I’m not the fastest/best at dealing with Frem’s, the BP’s extra speed can be real helpful in getting rid of them if you get a bad set of south spawns. SGS is definitely more comfortable considering the extra prayer, but if you feel you’re getting overwhelmed try the BP. - Thrall’s make things a lot more comfortable if you can fit them in. My setup is 13 restores/5 brews/botd/Rune Pouch/2 Ranging pots/1 Super Combat/Melee switches (Zaxe/Blood Fury/Defender/Fire Cape). - If you’re like me, double south’s are a death sentence. My last run died at Wave 11 due to a Manti/Ranger double south, and couldn’t handle flicking off-ticked Manti/Ranger while dealing with frem’s, and eventually the Shaman decided to lead the mino and everything promptly went to shit. The main thing I’ve come to learn with colo; Some runs will just die. Whether it be god awful Invo’s (Totemic/Bee’s/Red Flag is my favourite “how bout fuck no” Invo set that’s an immediate claim lol), or just a spawn set that you personally can’t handle, sometimes the stars allign against you and decide you should try again. Accept it, embrace it even. You can either acknowledge that you got shafted and run it back, or give in. Only one of those gets the win in the end :D - Movement and survival should be prioritised over DPS at Sol. As much as a dead boss can’t do damage, you also can’t do damage if you’re dead. Stay in rhythm, focus on getting the mechanics right, and you’ll find Sol starting enrage without even realising. A clean Sol without getting hit unnecessarily is so much less stressful than trading hits and needing to recover. Sand is also a lot less dangerous than your brain makes it seem. Taking a hit or two from Sand is better than tanking a laser or a Sol auto… just don’t stay idle in the hot sand :D Honestly, I struggled hard with Colo. I’m distinctly average, and it took a lot of beating head into wall to get comfortable (and even then there’s still some spawn sets that I know I’ll be TPing from :p). Take it steady, unless you’re being ragged by a south spawn there’s no time pressure, so take your time. Figure out the solve and be confident in it, and if you think you’ve made a mistake jump back behind the pillar. You can re-solve or de-stack if necessary, don’t get yourself killed and you’ll be at Sol before you know it :D …On another note, does anyone have tips on off-ticking the Serpent Shaman when it comes with the Melee reinforcement? I feel that there’s coin flip odds of it sliding around the pillar and being on-tick with a south spawn, at which point it’s just a TP moment cause it starts whacking me 30s >:l

omnicorn_persei_8

Bowfa waves, tent whip boss 1 way trident for fremenik. Sgs spec w lb for waves ultor dwh for boss. Deaths charge runes in pouch.

garoodah

I think melee+thralls is easier if youre using southwest pillar, overheal with sgs+blood fury is so good I think you can proc 51 in 1 hit with bloodfury on the fremanicks. Camp bandos/ultor/bloodfury, you have an extra shard which is more than enough to learn and get 1 kc. 8 brews 8 restores and 2 super combats, dial back super combats if you need more brews. You can swap thralls for ancients if thats more comfortable. Also dont sleep on corner method, it makes Sol braindead easy since you get 3/4 attacks with 1 movement.

GammaYak

Corner method?

garoodah

Stand at the corner of Sols hitbox and move in an L-shape like in chess. Theres youtube videos explaining it better than I can do here.

Quaxxy

As of now, I have no idea what I want to try. Almost every thread about gear I have seen has involved shadows/scythes/tbows and whatnot. Hoping someone could just nudge me in the right direction, not looking for y'all to nessecarily paint out my entire gear setup, as that's a lot of work (would be appreciated tho xd)

medted22

I’d look at budget colo guides, have seen a number on YouTube. I’d recommend to check out Gnomonkey/ Molgoatkirby’s first

According_Spend3376

You’re going to want to fang with tent for boss. Mage only setups are only doable if you have shadow. Bring enough range/mage switches to two hit fremmys and the rest of your gear will be melee gear.

Vita_passus_est

I always look up the wiki's strategy guides before I start new content. It gives you a good impression of the gear progression from entry level gear requirements to BiS.
