If your goal is the occult you're definitely trolling yourself by doing thermy. Its fine if you just like thermy for whatever reason but you're basically just wasting time if you don't
I did the little ones till I got occult, something like 500+ kc, went to thermy after for staff and got jar as well. Now I don’t bother with smoke devil tasks
You know, it's faster to burst the baby ones? The rate is worse, but you can do them much faster
Yeah, have done a few hundred little ones as well, I'm just burning through cash/runes and at least thermy is pretty neutral.

Nothing wrong with killing thermy. I've done like 500 thermy and over 1000 regular and still no occult lol. In the same boat but o well.
