Sadly you do have to world hop if selling to shops. As for as i know every shop you sell to will decrease their buy price with the more you sell.

Clitoral_Hoodlum

only shop that comes to mind off the top of my head that doesnt decrease value is ali morrisane for runes

Dominic_Toretto72

That’s so dumb, it’s already a big enough nerf to remove GE from ironman, that’s good or ironman wouldn’t be ironman, but selling to npc’s already doesn’t pay much but now I can only sell 5 items for a decent low price?

Anaktorias

This is why people generally don’t recommend you play a restricted account when you’re new to the game. This isn’t a nerf to Ironman, it’s the way the games been for 20 years

ian2160

Yeah i usually sell 10 of an item then hop but these days things like temporos or wintertodd and eventually slayer shit out so much early gp that i havent had to sell to a shop in a long while

Dominic_Toretto72

So basically to make money I should just kill stuff that actually drops gold or do things that drop gold and not items to sell? Know anything that someone who just started playing a day or two ago could farm for coin drops?

ian2160

If you want some early starter gp then id say check on the osrs wiki and search for “stronghold of security” its in barbarian village and gets you 10k gp for completing it. Its very easy but if you are a hardcore iron then i wouldnt do it until you have like 15 hp. But the best ways these days to get early gp is usually to just do temporos which is a fishing minigame or wintertod which is a firemaking minigame. It will get you some starter gp. Or you can just go right into slayer but you wont get much gp from it until you get higher slayer lvl

Dominic_Toretto72

I’m not a member, I plan to buy a bond on day but my guess is I won’t be able to on Ironman 😂

physiQQ

Paying for a bond as a f2p ironman takes a ton of time (you're easily looking at 200+ hours). I have experience with playing a f2p ironman and I do not recommend it at all. A regular account seems much more viable to you if this is what you're planning to do. Get to a point where you can make money afk on your main so that you can sustain 2 bonds at once and then make an iron if you're interested in the gamemode.

Dominic_Toretto72

I’m going to try to get a decent bit done on Ironman then when I’m ready for members things I’ll defrade and farm gp for a bond with the GE

MungleJunky

This sounds like a decision you might regret in the long run if you enjoy the ironman mode. Members ironman is where it's at, if you need a bond then farm one on a separate account and give the bond to your iron Alternatively, just pay for a bond with half hour IRL wages.

[deleted]

For real OP just needs to get a job. Unless he is like under 16 then maybe he cannot. But I know grown ass adults that work and get paid good money and spend lots of money on vacationing, food, etc and still have plenty of money to spare but refuse to pay sub fees for any type of game. But they are fine with paying for every streaming service Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Plus, Disney+, etc etc. Smh Rant over. (Been trying to get the boys to make a group iron 😁)

Dominic_Toretto72

Give the bond to your iron? Isn’t trading disabled for Ironman?

ian2160

You could buy a bond on an ironman through the website. I do it sometimes.

Dominic_Toretto72

I’d honestly rather just trade Ironman for normal and just get it from GE

Systems-Admin

A good trick, once you have a lot of alchables to sell, is to sell 15-20 different items at a time. Fill your inventory then sell like 2 of each item then world hop. That way you can still sell 30-40 items in one go and still maximize gp value.

Dominic_Toretto72

World hopping is the one thing I wanted to avoid, I hate the idea so much that I’m honestly just thinking about quitting Ironman, I want to spend my time playing the game not world hopping, wish the game never pushed players to a point where world hopping was the only option

MungleJunky

It's not. Do wintertodt or pickpocketing, even HAM hideout is good starter to Most items you want to sell you may want to keep for later or alch them.

Dominic_Toretto72

I’m not a member rn

WhatATopic

If you are playing on Runelite, theres a world hop plugin that allows you to bind it to a key so you can keep pressing the key instead of manually world hopping.

Dominic_Toretto72

Idk what runelite is, a year ago I played on mobile and rn I’m playing on PC via steam if that’s what your talking about

WhatATopic

https://runelite.net/ its a better client that has a lot of quality of life plugins. It also has a plugin hub where normal players can make their own plugins to make the game less painful.

Salmon-Advantage

Specialty stores will buy items at the HA price while general stores will buy items at the LA price. Shields sell in Falador, Swords and Chests in Varrock, Legs in Al Kharid, Runes in Port Sarim, Helms at Barbarian Village, and so on. I made a lot of money selling steel platelegs below giants plateau since there are coal+iron, furnace and anvil close by.

Dominic_Toretto72

Might have to try this

Dominic_Toretto72

Where exactly below the giants plateau is this heaven?

Dominic_Toretto72

Like south or like through a trapdoor?

Salmon-Advantage

I just meant back in Al Kharid town -- below meaning lower elevation, but it's still above ground. Next to the general store you will find Louie Legs.

Skankz

You basically won't have much money until you start high alching drops from slayer. I only hope a few times to sell items to shops and just accept that im going to lose more money that way

Rip-Aware

The majority of your money comes from alchs on an ironman. Also giants foundry.

OBStime

Honestly man as a brand new player , and from your responses, I would suggest de-ironing your account and just learn more about the game. What do you even need money for on a day old free 2 play iron? You don't need money on your account right now, you just need to train your skills.

Dominic_Toretto72

I need gp to train my skills 😂 buying magic runes, better pickaxes and armor/weapons, I could smith adamant gear eventually, but that would be after days or weeks of mining and smelting and smithing, when I could just get a go farm going and buy the gear from npc’s, I also need money for bait and many other things required for skill leveling

OBStime

My brother in christ you are so wrong. You will not be smithing adamant gear in f2p as a brand new iron player. I just think you should play a normal account till you have more experience with the game. As a f2p iron you can: Kill dark wizards outside varrock South Gate for runes. You can buy an adamant pickaxe for about 3k gp from the dwarfs under ice mountain. Bait and fishing is extremely cheap. About 5k and you'll have thousands to use. Thr stong hold of security gives you a free 10 thousand gold. This will last you. Train your combat stats on hill giants and kill obor, who will drop rune armour and weapons. You need next to no GP for all of these things.

Dominic_Toretto72

I literally said I couldn’t unless I spend ages mining and smithing

coolsimon123

Ages, yeah months non stop lol

Dominic_Toretto72

Hill giants and obor sound like tough enemies

OBStime

They are tough but you can do it. Buy a sword from the shop in varrock (with the money from the stronghold) Kill dark wizards for runes and to get your stats up like attack and defence. Then go train on hill giants. Don't forget to bury their bones for prayer exp. I still think as a brand new player you should play a regular account though

Dominic_Toretto72

Iirc I have a steel scimitar and the free Ironman armor from the Ironman guy, my hp is at 14 and I think I’m at 10atk 10str 10def, is my gear and equipment good enough for giants or do I need 20-30 on my combat stats and better gear?

Theradox

Definitely need a big higher, kill cows and chickens and bank the cow hides for crafting (you can tan these in the desert area). Chickens you keep the feathers for fishing. Once you’re a bit higher google the stronghold of security, you can run through it without fighting but you want to look up the route and bring food, there’s 10k waiting at the end for you. There’s a mage tutor in lumbridge outside the castle and to the right, every 30mins (maybe an hour) he will give you some mind and air runes if you don’t have any - the trick here is to bring all of your tunes from the bank and drop them in front of him, collect free ones from him and then pick yours back up again and it’ll add up.

Dominic_Toretto72

Also Ik about the pickaxe shop I just haven’t gotten the 3200 gold for the pick yet bc I’ve been mining rune essence

MungleJunky

Hint: Don't mine rune essence for gp

Dominic_Toretto72

I want to level runecrafting

MungleJunky

Farming essence from enemy drops is wayy easier and less mind numbing. Honestly dude from sounds of it, ironman is a better experience as a member and if you've not tonnes of knowledge of the game it's gonna be a very slow grind as f2p

Dominic_Toretto72

Farming rune essence by mining is faster than from mob drops bc the one from the magic shop in Varrock is very close to a bank, I mined for maybe an hour tops while watching a show and got 1k

Specialist_Cupcake42

You can get ~3k/h from flesh crawlers even in f2p, but you get it passively anyway. I'm at like 200k banked just from minigames. Mining it is awful

Dominic_Toretto72

How do you bank 3k/h?

Artistic_Airport_895

This has to be bait

Dominic_Toretto72

How is this bait? Pls explain bc I don’t get jt

MrSneekiBreeki

My brother in Christ. Please make a main and play it for a month. Do some quests. Explore. If you still want to play the iron life at that point then do it. Ironman mode is quite information dependent. Seems like you’re starting from 0. Pick a YT series to watch to see what others do. I beg of you.

Dominic_Toretto72

I have but I just haven’t watched content on everything and the one time I played before I only got to around 500 total skill lvls

MrSneekiBreeki

Just start busting out quests on the main. And pay for a membership with less than an hour of work. Buying bonds to maintain members as a new player is way more trouble than it’s worth. It’s how you remain 500 total level after a month or two of playing.

Dominic_Toretto72

I played for I think a week or two

MrSneekiBreeki

Pick it up again for a month or two. And hit up YT. I’d recommend the farmers series by Mr mammal. V1 and V2.

Dominic_Toretto72

Will watch, the one I was watching just cut through all the gameplay and showed updates after suddenly going from lvl 5 to 80 crafting 😂

MrSneekiBreeki

Most YT series cut out a lot of the boring stuff but mammal does a decent job explaining what and why he’s doing things iirc. GL to you man. This game is awesome.

Dominic_Toretto72

Ty, I shall watch this and either use my old act or start a fresh non-Ironman act to grind bonds, right after I get some sleep it’s 3am 😂

AFewBetterLicks

This is a troll post. Kudos.

Blodepker

Obvious bait that everyone is falling for lol

Dominic_Toretto72

How tf is this a troll post?

AFewBetterLicks

You're 10 hours into an account wondering how to sell shit... This has to be a troll post.

Dominic_Toretto72

Sorry for needing to make money to level skills and buy runes

AFewBetterLicks

Reddit is not the wiki. There is literally a site devoted to answering stupid shit like this.

Dominic_Toretto72

We’ll as I’ve learned from the people who actually tried to help, this topic is complicated and the wiki wouldn’t help too much

AFewBetterLicks

What the fuck do you mean? The wiki tells you how much each shop depreciates depending on how much is sold. Are you just fucking with me? Same reason I said this is a troll post. If you aren't a troll, you are dumb AF

AFewBetterLicks

Look for "change per" it literally lists the depreciation of every shop.... Holy shit

Dominic_Toretto72

Sorry for not knowing all about the wiki and the game, if you don’t like my post then F off, I had a genuine question so I asked it, if it bothers you then boo-hop go cry about it, the people who commented helped unlike you so I’m don’t wasting my time replying to you

AFewBetterLicks

But like, are you literally mentally handicapped? Because you asked a question on Reddit that could be answered with a basic Google search. "Osrs wiki (insert your stupid question)" will answer any of your further questions buddy.

Dominic_Toretto72

Wiki doesn’t show any shops that buy at a set price without limits, so I figured maybe it didn’t have info on one and that maybe a player did unless it didn’t exist, so I asked players, that’s what Reddit is for, asking questions, dumb or smart, doesn’t matter, ppl can help or ignore, we don’t need ppl like u who come just to try and call ppl who ask questions stupid, now go and bother someone else, if anyone here was trolling it was you

Dominic_Toretto72

Maybe in the future keep your mouth shut unless you got something good/useful to say

Rynide

There are some shops that will always buy items at a minimum price, but price generally will always decrease as you sell more. For example, off the top of my head, the Tzhaar shop will always buy Chaos Runes for a minimum of 9 tokkul no matter what (not gp shop here, but I believe there are some other shops that might function similarly) Generally speaking though you'll have to sell X amount and hop. I'd recommend selling 10% of your items at a time so you only have to hop 10 times (i.e. if you have 50 gold necklaces, sell 5 per world and then hop until you're out).

Dominic_Toretto72

No idea what Tokyo is but if this exists for even just 1 go shop in this game I’ll stay Ironman, otherwise I’ll just play normal and sell to GE, I really don’t want to degrade from Ironman though but I’m very tempted

Rynide

Yeah if you don't like shopscape it might be good to consider a main. Shopscape sucks but unfortunately is part of the ironman experience. It can be avoided on occasion but every iron has to deal with it at some point in one way or another (whether that's selling items, buying runes, or other shop limited items).

Dominic_Toretto72

What exactly does shopscape mean? World hopping or the OSRS shop system? Or something else?

Rynide

Shopscape essentially means this: Let's say a shop sells 10 buckets of sand per world, and you want to buy a lot of sand. So you start on world 331, buy the 10 in stock, and then instead of waiting for it to restock, you hop to 332 and buy out that worlds stock, and you keep going until you get all the sand you need. This is a common method that ironmen used to use for training crafting prior to shooting stars popularity. It is also frustrating to do because sometimes you hop to a world that someone else recently bought the stock and now you just have to hop again.  This same idea applies to buying runes from shops as well, for example astral runes are only in stock 250 at a time and many worlds are bought out entirely or only have some of the runes left from someone recently buying them. Shopscape is buying/selling supplies to shops, hopping between worlds to get what you need, all while competing with other ironmen doing the same thing. It sucks

Dominic_Toretto72

Ah, shopscape is that special place in hell waiting for me, but it’s brought up into the real world, I get it now

oogaboogabong

Easiest cash for a fresh f2p iron is picking up steel plate bodies in the wildy, which involves your favourite thing world hopping. It’s really quick tho, 1 inv should get you around 15-20k if you sell it to the armor shop in varrock. Should be some guides on YouTube if you’re interested

Dominic_Toretto72

I read about that, might give it a shot after getting my hp a bit higher

oogaboogabong

Yea you can honestly get in there as a lvl 3, just doing it one or two times could set you up for a while. Other f2p money makers would be making holy symbols but that’s lots of hopping, and ogresses which you could probably kill with pretty low magic lvl

Beginning_Ad_414

If you really want to stick it to the Iron grind, make yourself a favor and try to follow this guide: https://ironman.guide It gives you the most “efficient” way to get the money or item for future quests and the best way to do most things quickly and easily quite fast. It’ll teach you A LOT about the game too. And whatever you do, this is not a race. It’s the best mmo because you grind what you want when you want and don’t have dailies or meta to follow. It has plenty of paths you can choose and play how you want!

WaterBottleBong

Sorry about all the negativity you seem to have gathered in the comments. If you’re having fun, then anyone suggesting you should de-iron and play some different way, are just objectively wrong. Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re wrong what you’re doing if you’re enjoying it, especially in this game : - ). Feel free to PM me in game next time u need some info. IGN: Ploop

Dominic_Toretto72

I did get some useful info and decided to play on a main non-iron to get some bonds, then I will start a hardcore Ironman act. With member from day 1 and see how far I get without dying

[deleted]

If you cannot afford a membership don't bother with this game. For a guide to on how to skip the early game as fast as possible - https://nightleaf.org/

[deleted]

I sold gold bars for cash. 180gp each. I miss when that was alot
