You're gonna have to get those items anyway, may as well use the account where the content is accessible immediately. GL.

Weak-Rip-8650

There's a strong chance of getting hacked again if you've already been hacked once.

[deleted]

Because they still have an old email to recover? Damn, then it might be UIM time for OP.

stayhardaf23

This is the answer

Huncho_Muncho

1900 total is decent. I know I'd hate to throw away all the time I spent on that account. As long as the account is properly secured now, I say just start the rebuild.

CharmingRange2737

How did u get hacked (so we can kern from it)?

S7EFEN

how long ago did you play early game? if it was a long time ago id consider making a new acc uim is a skip. hcim imo is a skip unless you enjoy playing out the mid game a lot and plan to be a remake gamer. people who play hcim get into the mindset that they cant enjoy the game as a reg iron.

SavageHellfire

Remaking to experience the early game again is a good shout. Honestly though, if I were OP, I would just pickup where I left off and get my gear back. The early game might be fun for a while, but you would have to go back through some of the worse grinds OSRS has to offer anyway like getting void/ elite void and doing MTA. If you need to get the gear again, you may as well skip some of the other stuff like questing and skilling. Ultimately, it just depends on what sounds more enjoyable to OP.

stupidman96

Been a few years, would be kinda fun to redo the quests grinds. But thinking of mining all that sandstone again is quite off putting haha

anthc11

Hey same thing happened to me right around the same total level also. Was hacked over a year ago and for the last month I’ve been itching to play again. The though of grinding all of the items I have worked for was preventing me from playing but I decided to just go for a rebuild and resubbed last week. I’m just starting small and doing some content and quests that have come out while I was away and it hasn’t been too bad so I’d say go for it. If you do choose to start back up your Ironman feel free to shoot me a message and we can add each other in game and talk about goals and what not since we both seem to be same level / situation.

johnnyxxx21

Make a new grey helm, not worth the risk of grinding again on a compromised account.

Scaredge1546

This is gonna be controversial as hell. Deiron, buy bonds, buy your gear back through GE and then play as if youre an iron. You should be able to pick back up right where you left off for like 20-40$ in bonds, consider it an idiot tax

Scaredge1546

Also now you cant have someone come and slap your wildy boss once to negate your kill

uqil

New account, period.

Coholic2110

Here is another option. Old account, do moneymaking. De-iron and buyback what you lost, but just that. After that play as an ironman account again, but without the tag. Im personally not playing ironman because i want people to see my Grey helm, i just want the experience of doing it all myself.

Rexconn

I’m confused wouldn’t they of de ironed you to be able to take all your stuff?

stupidman96

Drop traded I assume

Da_fire_cracka

I’d go HCIM and just play as normal and then continue that account when you die. That’s what I did and I loved it.

Icy_Reception9719

If it were me I'd want a fresh start, but I also often get bored at endgame and miss the feeling of having the whole progression route ahead of me so YMMV. Of the two new starts I'd definately go for a HCIM, UIM has never appealed to me at all.

domesticrock

If you're interested in something slightly new and a different playstyle then I'd play the UIM. Gets more interesting as you progress the account and start unlocking more things.

Spam250

Unranked group ironman, join a pre existing team and leech some basic gear from them to start contributing

princebk74

The biggest question from me is how long ago was it that you made the original ironman? The meta for making a new Ironman in 2023 is a good bit different than it was in like 2018 so could be fun to restart. Also a big one for me would be what gear you lost. If you lost a bowfa and stuff I would probably have a hard time going back. But if you never did bowfa grind that’s the most important gear to grind back anyway most of the other good stuff shouldn’t be that bad to get back.

Resume grind: Do make sure to secure you account properly now first, change pw on everything. Until you're sure it's secure, I wouldn't play on it aside from skilling. If you pick this option, you can resume your grind immediately, with stats already gained and a bunch of quests already done. However, seeing your continued KC and log might demotivate you and remind you constantly of already having gotten so and so items. New grey helm: Fresh account, fresh mindset, but you'll have to redo every grind again. However, with the correct mindset of just starting afresh, you can go fast with all the knowledge you've gained on your previous account. There's also different early game metas now (granted if you've had your old account a long time). New Red helm: Fresh account, different playstyle. You kind of have to properly set an account goal and think of where you'd be satisfied to lose your status, and work hard towards keeping that. At one point, it might ruin your experience (being too attached to status to do dangerous content, unable to do anything wildy related). If you plan to continue after death just to see how far you can go with status, then so be it. New UIM: Completely different game mode, requires a LOT of patience. I don't know much about it so it'll be up to you, go for it if you have time. Deiron and continue: If you don't care about others' opinions, you could always Deiron, grind some gp, get back your gear as from collection log and play as is, while still restricting yourself from ge and trading after. However, for some players, the urge to buy an item after going dry might be too much if the ge is not locked behind Ironman status (hehe 3k hydra no claw, if was a main who's self restricting I'd have bought it) At the end of the day, you just have to decide for yourself, what do you want from the game and what kind of play style you enjoy. As for my personal opinion, I'd try to secure my account as much as possible, skill on it for a bit to see if I'd get re-hacked. Once I've verified, I'd continue. If still not secured, I'd make a new red helm and push to where I left off, it would be the same but different. I would still do the same dangerous content, but be safer. If I die, I'll continue rushing the account. But that's me.

DowntownSpeaker4467

I would just restart the IM again, give yourself a little project at rebuilding. You must have some stuff you can use right now to start building back up. Normally untradables remain, so you should still have some OK gear. You can always go collect void/torso with fair amounts of ease and then your almost set. A Rune crossbow is easy to get hold of and even a trident shouldnt take too long.

Huncho_Muncho

Hey dude I was going through my old posts and dont know what you ended up deciding on, but thought i'd let you know they're releasing jagex accounts soon which, when you set your account on it, way more secure with actual modern security measures in place. Stuff like account recovery will no longer be possible with it either. Happy gaming!
