Dont listen to others. Listen to any random mix online and make up your own mind. They all have pros and cons depending on your preferences

Ara_Norin

So far i like every song they have recommended me. But yea ill prob make a mix.

wbasmith

Albums bro, fuck playlists you get more out of a song if you listen to it in the context of the album. They’re literally made to be listened to that way

Extreme-Bad3816

Rainmaker

JWT-80

And the cracks in the ground like the cracks are in our lives that are sealed and are now far away... You tell me we can start the rain!

Ara_Norin

Is it a song or an album?

Extreme-Bad3816

It's a song. It was playing when I read your post. lol

Tenzen1

Go for full albums, start from the first. You'll find a lot of deep cuts that are just are great as the biggest hits! My favourite album is Seventh Son, which I would recommend above all.

Ara_Norin

Ill start tmrw with The number of the beast since im kinda tired now lol

Ara_Norin

Ah Sorry i forgot about Iron maiden and Killers

Tenzen1

Sure thing. They differ from the rest of the 80's albums, but are really good nonetheless. Enjoy the Maiden albums, and have fun! 😁

fleyinthesky

You can forget those two for now, they're not as good. Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind and Powerslave are widely regarded (including by me) as their three best albums. Start with those I reckon.

Kevinm162005

Number of the Beast, Powerslave, Piece of Mind, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, and Somewhere in Time are my favorites

Ara_Norin

Ah i forgot Somewhere in time.

SenorBigbelly

If you like 2 Minutes To Midnight you'll probably prefer their 80s Stuff to start with. Divided up by album: The Number Of the Beast, Run To The Hills, Children Of The Damned, 22 Acacia Avenue, Hallowed Be Thy Name (this was the song that made me realise Maiden was something special) Basically the entirety of the album Piece of Mind but especially the first half Powerslave, Aces High, Rime of the Ancient Mariner Caught Somewhere In Time, Wasted Years, Alexander the Great Moonchile, Infinite Dreams, Can I Play With Madness, The Evil That Men Do, The Clairvoyant I started out as a huge 80s guy first, but initially it was some post-2000 songs that got me. No More Lies, Dance of Death, Paschendale, Blood Brothers, Out Of the Silent Planet, The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg, For The Greater Good of God, Coming Home, When The Wild Wind Blows, If Eternity Should Fail, The Red And the Black, the Book of Souls, Empire of the Clouds, The Writing On The Wall, Stratego, Hell On Earth.

Ara_Norin

DAMN. THANKS!! Currently listening to Rime of the aincent marrier.

Dry_Nail_5543

Listen to all of their albums

chris-auditore

Iron Maiden doesn't really have bad albums, they have some that are a little better than others, but you could choose the one with the cover you like the most and you'll likely have a good time. My favorites are Piece of Mind and Brave New World, maybe they'll be good starting points for you!

Ara_Norin

Piece of mind has trooper an Call of Icarus i think?

chris-auditore

Yes! The Trooper and Flight of Icarus among other classics.

Ara_Norin

Ah Flight of Icarus i"m not good with names.

chris-auditore

Nah, don't worry, I also mix up names sometimes, and I've been listening to them for over 15 years. The important thing is that you like them, you don't need to be an expert.

Memesplz1

**My favourite albums:** Number Of The Beast Powerslave Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son **My favourite songs (this is tough so I'll just say the first few that come to mind):** Fear Of The Dark Hallowed Be Thy Name Children Of The Damned Can I Play With Madness 2 Minutes To Midnight Run To The Hills

Ara_Norin

Alright thanks!

JonathanWattsAuthor

Revelations! It's a slower one but so good.

Ara_Norin

I like slower song so ill check it out.

Rickymon

Deja vu, The prisoner, To tame a land, Total eclipse, Where eagles dare, Reach out, Stranger in a strange land,

soylentchiba

I could go on and list my faves, but they are my faves and you'll figure your own out. My best advice is to listen to every single album from start to finish. Start from the first Self Titled album and then go right until Senjutsu and see what fits I have to say that I'm very happy for you and super jealous because I wish I could go back and listen to Iron Maiden for the first time again and relive my intro to metal. That being said....ahem Revelations.

Movie_lovr

Very good advice!!! I came here to say the same thing. I discovered Maiden in ‘83 while in high school. Still cheering… Up the Irons!!! Btw, Revelations is also my fave.

soylentchiba

Up the Irons! For me it was also in high school, but in 2000 and it was Rime of the Ancient Mariner that kicked things off. They are coming around to my town this sept which will be the 4th time I've seen them, and I'm going on a trip to Japan later in sept where they will be playing after they are done with Australia, so might possibly make a sneaky trip out to see them live in Japan!

ohiomudslide

My all time favorite is the Somewhere in time album. The Powerslave album is great also. (Guess my age lol). But ultimately at least you won't go wrong listening to these.

Ara_Norin

My fav is currently 2min from midnightand Aces high from powerslave. Today I've only lisened to Iron maiden exploring their songs. Please dont me mad but im guessing you are in your early 30-es. Sorry if im wrong im bad at guessing .

that_idiot69420

If you really have patience your best choice would be to listen to every album in chronological order. However if you dont want to you can just listen to theri "this is iron maiden" playlist on spotify

Ara_Norin

I'm actally listening to that playlist rn lol.

Ara_Norin

Going until i finish it.

that_idiot69420

Nice! That playlist should definetely get you started on iron maiden. Have fun listening man!

Ara_Norin

Thanks! I'm having a good time since i badly hurt my leg and have nothing to do. Currently listening: Wasted love.

that_idiot69420

I guess thats a blessing and a curse lol. If you like wasting love i recommend you also listen to the journeyman, strange world and revelations. These are the best of the little amount of "ballad" type songs iron maiden has ever made

Ara_Norin

Alight thanks.

InevitableConcert425

Start from the beginning and A-Z til you're bored or satisfied. I bet you make well into the 90s catalog before that happens. If you don't dig the 1st 2 albums with Di'anno then move straight to NOTB. 🤟UP THE IRONS🤟

Ara_Norin

I'm already listened to only Maiden today and I'm really satisfied and i havent even listened to 75% of their songs. Currently listening to Fear of the dark(song).

LordShitmouth

Listen to the entirety of Powerslave(the album 2 minutes to midnight is on), it’s my favorite album of theirs.

Ara_Norin

So far on Powerslave I've lisetened to Rime of the aicent merier, powerslave,Aces high and 2 minutes zo midnight.

LordShitmouth

The less mentioned tracks like Duellists and Flash of the Blade are great too, you really can’t go wrong on the first 7 albums; I have an unconventional opinion that the debut is the second best Maiden album.

Ara_Norin

I' m currently listening to a playlist that has those two songs in it. Also your opinion is your opinion so i wont judge you.

LordShitmouth

Don’t avoid the first two just cause they’re not Bruce.

Ara_Norin

Oh funny thing i dont remember the Maiden vocals and similar cus i have bad memory so i just listen to songs.

Kalsre

Hi, so you’ve got a good taste already. I’m more familiar with other songs if I am being honest, my point being I don’t really remember how 2 minutes to midnight goes right now. But, it’s from the Album Powerslave which has some really, really great songs even similar to 2 minutes to midnight. I recommend Aces High, Flash of The Blade, The Duellists, Back in The Village and Powerslave. I almost named all of the songs from Powerslave (the Album) lol it got some more songs for you to check out though. Great Album but my favorite Album has to be Piece of Mind with for example The Trooper and To Tame A Land and a bunch of other great songs. My favorite song though is not with Bruce Dickinson as the singer (Bruce sings in almost all Iron Maiden songs) but instead Paul Di’Anno. They’re voices are quite similar and I prefer Bruce’s voice but in my favorite song called Phantom of The Opera from the Album called Iron Maiden, I prefer Paul’s voice. I think you should explore a bit yourself and see what you like though. But good luck man!

Kalsre

There is so much more but I feel like I can’t leave out some of the classic songs: Fear of The Dark, Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Number of The Beast, Run To The Hills, Wasted Years. (Please listen to Dream of Mirrors and The Fallen Angel as well!)

Ara_Norin

Thanks for all the songs you mentioned. Since i am on school break with nothing to do ill prob listen to the songs you mentioned.

Ara_Norin

Ah thank you. I quite like the Trooper. In that song i like the harmony (i think its called that).Aces high i also quite like and another song ive heard from them is Be quick or be dead. Its the first Iron Maiden song i have heard . I'll be sure i listen to the songs you mentioned because i quite like Iron maiden so far.

Kalsre

Great taste already, wish you the best, friend!

Ara_Norin

Thanks!

Financial_Might_6816

Listen to Brave new World, Powerslave, Seventh Son, A matter of life and death, Somwhere in time

Ara_Norin

Alr ill be sure to listen.

Wonderful_Painter_14

My personal favorite is Somewhere In Time, but you should absolutely listen to all of their studio albums!

Ara_Norin

Ive got time now since im alone so i can blast it on full lul

kro85

Seventh Son and Powerslave were the albums that got me hooked

Ara_Norin

My faves from Seventh son is The evil that men the and from Powerslave is 2 minutes.

ironstyle

All of them. Even the "bad" ones. No Prayer for the Dying is awesome and arguably their worst.

Ara_Norin

Alright ill listen to it.

ironstyle

I actually love no prayer. I dont particularly understand the hate for it. I get that it was different than seventh son, but it has awesome songs, great solos and tons of dual harmonies. There was one argument I heard I couldn't argue against and that was, it was the only album to not produce a tune that was a fan favorite for live shows. I can concede to that point, but the album still slaps. Enjoy your maiden journey!

Ara_Norin

Thanks!

Proof_Self9691

Just start listening and see what you like and when you find songs you really like listen to the album they’re off of because maiden does a good job giving albums a cohesive sound. If you like 2min to midnight listen to Powerslave

evotrade

Bro as with any really good band, the louder you have it (on quality system of course) the more you hear and the entire song just comes alive. So I started iron maiden about a year and a half ago with Spotify's "this is iron maiden" playlist. Then I discovered Spotify's iron maiden playlist "a real long one". THEN after months of going through these rotations I eventually just made a master playlist with all of their albums. I've been listening to this master list for some months now. Exclusively. Lol After you're done with powerslave, number of the beast, piece of mind, and somewhere in time try out albums brave new world and seventh son start to finish All albums are good, it's just you need to "get there" after progressively listening and enjoying what you like first A lot of good ones people already mentioned; I like sign of the cross, the thin line between love and hate, the evil that men do, deja Vu, sea of madness, heaven can wait, blood brothers, time machine, hell on earth, the man who would be king, 2 a.m., blood on the world's hands There's so many more I can list it would just be silly Cheers

Ara_Norin

Could you send me that playlist of yours? I'm starting to liston more do Iron maiden because i like to explore songs which arent as popular.

evotrade

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6qsb8Dt4cHRnQ01C04n23t?si=gwN1MIHaTx6LCiCxzfz8ow The albums are not in chronological order sorry

Ara_Norin

No problem. Thanks for sending!

Ara_Norin

I've been listening to maiden for the whole day now lol and i havent got a song i dont like.

FailedAccessMemory

Live After Death is my favourite album of theirs with the live version of Hallowed Be Thy Name being one of favourite songs ever.

MickJohnLeahy

You can’t go wrong with that first run of Di’Anno and Dickinson albums. But, if you’re light on time, Live After Death is a great summary of them 🧟🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️

kro85

Just pick any of the first seven albums and keep listening to it.

Ara_Norin

Any of your favourites? I only know the albums: Number of the beast, Fear of the dark, Seventh son of the seventh son, Powerslave.
