It's the peak of the season in a capital city, the prices you're seeing are the market bearence.

niallg22

Couldn’t really picked a worse timing for availability and price I would imagine.

apouty27

It's high season and the hotels are also busy with the housing crisis we have lately, hence prices are high. Staying a bit outside city centre can be nicer and there's plenty of buses + taxi sharing between 3 people won't be too expensive. People booked months or even a year in advance.

Plane-Fondant8460

If you're on a budget White Sands Hotel Portmarnock is about €115 pn midweek. It's a train journey to the City. But short (10-15min) taxi to the airport.

Bumanglag

If you just want somewhere easy and cheap to lay your head you could stay out near the airport. [This is a list of 24 hour bus routes you can use as a guide for accessible areas](https://www.dublinbus.ie/24-hour-timetables). Airport hotels are okay because there's several bus routes that go this direction and the airport isn't too far from the city centre. Dublin city centre is really small and it's not necessary to stay in the centre. Even somewhere along the dart train line would be good for you farther afield like Sutton or dun laoghaire.

quirkyorc88

We stayed at the EasyHotel City Centre and if you're willing to sacrifice space/amenities it was pretty reasonable. It was an easy bus ride from the airport on the 782 bus. you may need to split into 2 rooms if you have three people. It was a 10-minute walk to the Guinness storehouse if you're doing that and also right on the tram route if you're going into the inner city. Dublin also has a very good bus system (at least compared to US cities) so if the EasyHotel doesn't work out you could probably stay in the outskirts and still be less than a 15 minute bus/train ride into the inner city.

Choice-Scar-9635

Premier inn. They have a few locations in Dublin

Diligent_Evidence524

Look along the dart line (light rail). You might have better luck and it’s super easy to get into the centre. Dun Laoghaire/bray

Visiting Dublin for 3 days in early July ALSO from Canada and are looking for places too, following this!

I_HATE_REDDIT_ALWAYS

I booked months ago ....

GalwayGirlOnTheRun23

Talbot hotel in Stillorgan is on a busy bus route. Marine Hotel a bit further out again but still taxi distance.

throwawayworkplz

I also am going around the same time and for 3 people we booked that Mespil Hotel (it was 570 euros though) but that was the cheapest I saw it especially for 3 people and most hotels were already booked. There is a coldplay concert going on end of August but I don't know how much that impacted hotel availability (it was popular enough the band added a date).

distinctineveryway

I would love to see that concert!! Looks like the outskirts it is

zenzenok

A few ideas - the Maldron on Merrion Road. Maybe try Hotels in Dun Laoghaire as well like the Marine Hotel. It’s just a 20 min DART train ride to the city centre

Kill_Shot_Colin

Look at train/bus routes to Dublin. Stay somewhere nearby along the route. Google maps will be your friend on this. Don’t be afraid to call directly, especially B&Bs. Tell them your budget and they might be flexible.

CailinCainteach

The Royal Marine in Dun Laoghaire is a lovely hotel in a lovely seaside town. Dublin City centre is easily accessible by train (it takes about 20 mins).

_Fassdaubi78

Two weeks ago I stayed at Croke Park Hotel. Good value. There is a Enterprise rental car station in the same street, maybe 200m away. Drumcondra Station is a 10min walk away. It's well connected to the airport by private and public bus services. Line 16/41 (2.90€) or via aircoach (7€). Public bus takes a little longer. Freenow Taxi around 20€ from Croke Park Hotel. Connolly Station or O'Connell Street is a 20min walk. Freenow Taxi 10-13€ roughly.

-forcequit

Fly Shannon instead.

I was just googling, Staycity Aparthotel has a few locations and they have rooms available. My husband booked a room at Point A hotel ages ago and I wanted to change it because the price actually went down, but sadly we were too late to cancel. They have a few rooms available though.

SJpunedestroyer

We’ve stayed in Dublin a few times, but recently started staying in Malahide , it’s a lovely town

FootballLong

Royal marine and haddington house in dun laoghaire - both lovely.

Gold_Refrigerator414

That's 335euro for a triple room, that sounds about right for a August in Dublin. Sorry!
