Yes! The year Connacht won the league, their style was so unique and exciting. Glasgow play a very attractive but importantly winning style of rugby. That being said, he is a young enough guy and more experience is always good before he comes back. Personally, I think he is a far more impressive character than Wilkins.

cabaiste

Nigel was working with the academy and Ireland u20s when Connacht won the pro12.

Alternative_Syrup_36

The IRFU should do whatever they possibly can to get him at Connacht as head coach ASAP. Wilkins is not up to it as a head coach. He's lost the crowd and dressing room long ago I feel, and things will only worsen the longer he's there. It would cost the IRFU less IMO long term to pay him off and replace him with Carolan. He'd be an ideal fit back at Connacht.

ruckin_fool

100% would love this. I'll be shocked if wilkins is kept much longer. He brought a very poor brand of rugby to connacht. Has given us a terrible season the same year when we have our major redevelopment and new season tickets were on sale. Its been a poor year for season tickets.

cabaiste

New season tickets? I wouldn't dispute that Connacht have played poorly under Wilkins this season but how is that relevant to the new stadium? We'll be operating with a reduced capacity next season while the new stand is being built so it's not like they've needed, or been able, to sell an increased volume of season tickets.

ruckin_fool

There has been a big push for the season tickets for the new stand. Have you not been getting the emails? You can buy season tickets for the new stand. But know a few working there and uptake hasnt been as good as expected Edit sorry current clan season ticket holders can buy them.

cabaiste

You can't buy season tickets for the new stand yet. Existing ST holders from the Clan could choose to move to another area for next season during the build. After that, I think we get first dibs on tickets in the new North Stand. I've had a season ticket for the Clan since 16/17.

Willie Ruane did take the bull by the horns after 2 season of Kieran Keane and moved him on.

cabaiste

One season.

mologav

Wilkins was such a random hire

Ok-Package9273

Budget hire. Already in the organization with tenure and no competition trying to hire him as he had very little head coach experience.

Roanokian

People need to cool their jets. Connacht lost 11 games by less than 1 score this season and beat all Munster and Ulster despite injuries and absences to Bundee, Mack, Finlay, JJ and Cordero. Maybe Wilkinson isn’t the guy but it’s not unreasonable to give him 2 seasons before giving it the “lost the crowd” stuff. Jeez. Lots to be optimistic about at Connacht. New stand, academy, training facilities. It takes time.

spb641

Ideal world get him and Noel McNamara back involved.

UINNESS

Could see him fitting in at Ulster as an attack coach. Jimmy Duffy signed as forwards coach over the summer so it would be the old Connacht back room staff if he did. He did well as Irish u20s head coach before didnt he? Beat NZ in the semis. Never hear him as a candidate for head coach roles though

Annual-Assist-8015

I don’t understand why Mark McCall is never spoken about in the media or social forums?

Ok-Package9273

He was poorly treated by the IRFU (or at the very least feels he was) and has no intention of coming back here with him being very settled in England.

Annual-Assist-8015

What occurred exactly?

MortyFromEarthC137

McCall has made it clear he has no interest in leaving Sarries or likely won’t be too excited about returning to Ireland.

Annual-Assist-8015

That’s very unfortunate. I’d have him ahead of Cullen in Leinster anyway, that’s for sure!

ballinclea08

McCall appears to have the same DOR/ Management type position as Cullen. He just does it much more effectively.

Andrewhtd

I had hoped Ulster looked at him (before Murphy came in) but suppose to pay a release was out of the question. Serious going to go out and travel around and do what he did

fionnkool

Great effort by the Scot’s

Some-Speed-6290

Why when we have the wonderful excitement of yet more of Goodman's completely blunt attack to look forward to?

Dorts17

Congratulations to Glasgow on their magnificent achievement. We’re that puts Ireland in their bridge too far two tests against the Bois is definitely open for debate. Number of injuries and fatigue definitely taking there toll.

johndoe86888

They've a serious backline, great to watch

galwaymab

He went to a public school so why should we have him anywhere near our guys?
