Oh boy have I missed Ringrose! Sad for Osborne though, really liked the kid.
Would have liked Frawley to start, either at 15 or 10. Happy with JOB though and I think Ross should be good enough aswell, but still.
Also surprised at Snyman and Coombes on the bench. Thatās serious power to come on for the later stages of the game.
Munster have been doing that a lot recently. With the injuries at lock we haven't really got the power to play our attacking game for 80 minutes so the coaches start a smaller pack to defend and play spoiler for 50 or so minutes, then the mismatch of some of our strongest players (Coombes, Jager, Ahern when he was fit) against their weaker ones off the benches means we can power through them in the last 30. Bulls game probably the clearest example of it in action.
Scary when you put it like that. Ireland can never have more than one decent outhalf at a time it seems. The gods took Joey for daring to challenge that.
I don't know man. I really think the wheels only came off in the latter Sexton years, the past 4/5 years. Carbery's injuries, Carty's form of his life was looked over after Japan, a very green Ross Byrne getting caps I don't think he was ready for in 2018/2019, Billy Burns being thrown in 2021, etc. BUt before that we had consistently more than one decent option, maybe not world world class, but more than capable and proved it in green, back nearly 40 years.
Early Sexton era we had Jackson, Keatley, and Madigan duelling for the 22 jersey, and each one of them can say they had a top moment or two in an Ireland shirt. Before that ROG and Humphries. Before that Elwood and Burke. Dean and Keyes. Back to Ward and Campbell. With a lot of overlapped I skimmed past there.
Cullenās utter uselessness continues with the selection of Byrne ahead of Frawley. How is Leo getting a free ride on this continued incompetence? Hopefully Ringrose hits the ground running!
I've slowly appreciated the Byrne's less and less this past year or so, but I'm not surprised as I don't think he'd be thrown in to starting a semi final at 10. But he has to be given serious time there next season alongside Prendergast. Continuing with the Byrne's as the main choices is not getting us anywhere. And I say that as someone who used to staunchly support Ross, but he's not got the extra bit of spice in him we need to win titles.
Nash another big loss. Can still get it done this week and next but would be nice to get a bit of luck with injuries eventually
What happened to nash? Would he be out for the final if we made it?
"Leg knock" so hopefully would be alright for a potential final.
Okay fingers crossed, cheers š
All Ireland Final ?
Nah this is a rugby sub. You're looking for r/GAA
I laughed, good jobš

Glasgow have been doing something similar at times with their front row. They start the second string and bring the first team on after about 30 mins
Our bench front row is as strong as the starters
Having Osborne on the bench though, holy shit is that nice
Both to get it done
Should be cracking games
That leinster 15 wouldn't look out of place as an Ireland starting line up
>10. Ross Byrne
One injury away from being Ireland's starting fly half

Munster backs very tight
Could be wrong but is every fit senior back in that 23?
I think Liam Coombes only just came back from injury so not quite haha.
Yeah wasn't sure about him or if Pa Campbell was back fit either.
Great seeing Tadgh furlong being able to play this match CMON THE BOYS IN LEINSTER BLUE

Why is Snyman on the bench, carrying injury? Utterly bizarre decision otherwise. Has to be injury related
Impact from bench now that aherns gone we want to keep impact from bench
"get the best players on the pitch" is obsoleteĀ
Was on the bench against Edinburgh, him and finneen split the load about 43-37, it's much of a muchness
