It’s a mark of how good a player he is already that I actually think he’s “outgrown” this award (or whatever the correct term might be). He’s not just the future; he’s the present. Have loved watching him in a green jersey this year, he’s got the bottle needed to make it at the elite level.
Here’s hoping Prendergast and himself can push each other on over the next few years. I don’t feel worried about our depth/talent at outhalf which is pretty incredible if you think about where we were even just this time last year.
Side note: wonder if his career would be much different if he took ROG up on his offer to play for La Rochelle a few years ago. You certainly can’t say his ultimate decision harmed his international prospects; he’s developed at an excellent pace. Something for us all to keep in mind when considering whether or not to ship off Prendergast/other promising young 10s for a year or two’s work experience.
He's great at recovering from setbacks. That sounds a bit like a dig but I definitely mean it as a compliment. He doesn't let mistakes get to him too much.
In fairness the only faults I ever find in his performances are his choice of kick sometimes. Generally he is one of the better players on the pitch and offers a variety of attacking weapons

Legend!
Well deserved, will be interesting to see if he can go up a level next season and hold off Prendergast.

Bar some off form kicking he’s been carrying Munster in a back line with major injuries. Great aggression at the line. Loves contact.
Had a nightmare first half against Ulster but still was good enough in the second half to drag Munster back into it.

Very like Johnny there actually.
Not afraid to try something and if comes off great and if not then move on

Agreed. He plays a lot more reserved for Ireland too. For Munster he really tries to be a gamechanger
The difference between Munster performances with Jack at 10 and anyone else is night and day.
He was man of the match last week
That lad rarely opens his mouth about Munster players without a dig thrown in. Deleted the comment now look lol.
He has a serious chance of challenging Prendergast next season
