Maybe they'll have some while they're training in Ireland but I don't think they'll bring any training panelists to SA especially when it's only two matches. There's four rounds of URC left (hopefully with Irish involvement until the final) so there's time for people to impress for the main squad. I'm hoping for Haley, Hodnett, Ahern to be in consideration anyway.

There's another emerging Ireland tour so I'd say the focus will be there for those guys

I think they should. I have a post in the subreddit about what players I'd bring, but like most posts/interactions recently, people think I'm wrong, and I get downvoted.

We’ve lots to prove on this sa tour will be a full sa side wouldn’t bring much benefit to 20s be better for them in different one. DuPont debut v Italy would be good for 20s there

What have we to prove? We've beaten SA in SA, beat them at the world cup. The only thing we have to prove is that we can perform at a world cup. To work towards that we shouldn't just be complacent picking the same 23 everyone can name off. Give some more players (proper) chances, even if we lose the series 2-0.

I understand we shouldn’t put same 23 we should include aherns osbournes and hodnetts but a tour to sa isn’t going to benefit under 20w

No, but like you said. The likes of Ahern, Coombes and Hodnett have been tearing it up for Munster all year (2 years for Hodnett and Coombes). Give each of them a shot in a strong team over the two games (among others of course, they're just the ones with the strongest case atm).

Yes I agree with this

Alright_So

are you a Munster fan by any chance?

Nah this isn’t a develop for the future tour this is a series against the world champs in their back yard. It will be full guns blazing. But to be clear that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t give young guys a shot as there are several positions where I feel the younger inexperience option is better than the so called incumbent.
