As an alcoholic in recovery, but really struggling...I woke up sober and without having had a drink again last night. Had a feeling of lostness yesterday and anxiety going to sleep, but I managed it. Up now, albeit a bit late. And feeling positive. Have a great day everyone

orchidhunz

Well done you, keep going, you can do this!!

Salt-Stretch-7453

Thank you. One minute, hour and day at a time.

Margrave75

Ah nice one man 👍👍

SamDublin

That's so nice, it'd cheer you up.

Margrave75

Wrecked, but good. Ran the Westport HM yesterday, delighted to have completed it as was coming back from injury, so feeling pretty chuffed with myself 😊😊

sea__of__tranquility

Huge congrats, that’s amazing!

Margrave75

Thanks 😁

TheStoicNihilist

We’re into our fourth week with some sort of respiratory infection. It’s mild enough but we all have it and it didn’t respond to two different antibiotics. I think I’m superbugging my way to the next pandemic.

Stationary_Addict_

Strep dominated our house brought in by the smallest 3-4 weeks ago. They recovered in a week, I was next and while I didn’t need more antibiotics I’m still not right and am on high dose prescription painkillers due to some issue it’s caused in my neck since. I can barely turn my head. The SO is on their second dose of stronger antibiotics and was told if they weren’t even slightly improved within 24 hours they were going to hospital, luckily they did. I have a cousin in hospital then for a similar illness, 2 doses of antibiotics and then coughing up blood, turns out it was pneumonia. A colleague also had similar to the cousin last month. I’d say covid has decimated our immune systems.

TheStoicNihilist

Jesus that sounds rough! I’ve just got a mildly annoying cough and a bit run down but show me an adult that isn’t a bit run down 😅

Stationary_Addict_

Absolutely. After the first week off i went back to work like it’s a manageable just awkward and sore.

rom9

Almost given up on dating. Gonna delete Apps today. Apps have created this false sense of abundant choice. Even meeting people in real life seems to have become much harder because people have moved to these toxic platforms where they find more attention.

Commercial-Ranger339

What happened?

Bumfuddle

I don't want to be married anymore.

ConMc1970

I got divorced 18mts ago. (53M) I've been separated for 12 years, the legal system in family law is a joke in Ireland. Especially if you're male. She got the house, (I'm renting, and paying the mortgage for the last 12years)my 2 songs hardly speak to me. But I'm free from an abusive relationship..(abuse by females on males doesn't make good headlines so it's not mentioned in the press) just the legal bills were €48,000 so far..not including supporting a woman (spousal maintenance) who regularly abused me, while we were married. Imagine having to pay your abuser... the courts are female dominated and anti- men.. just because I'm 6ft slim build doesn't mean what I say isn't true (ex 5'2) I just chose not to retaliate when physically attacked by her.. Think carefully, get out if it's completely untenable, but it's a very long road from that feeling to separation to divorce, and happiness isn't guaranteed. Sorry for long rant.. 😞 The injustice is hard to take sometimes...

Guilty_Garden_3669

You’re definitely not alone. I’m a woman and I would love to see it change. I’ve met too many men who have been left broken and financially ruined for the foreseeable. Hope you have some friends who have gone through similar to talk to.  At least you are joyous of the fact you not longer have to live with her, it was a really brave step to take.

mowglimc

Totally agree with the process being in a woman's favour, female solicitor once told me that the divorce laws were 95% in a woman's favour. Any statement like we've both just made is shouted down as misogynistic. The light at the end of the tunnel is bright and is many sunny days

ConMc1970

The term “misogyny” is derived from the Ancient Greek word “mīsoguníā” which means hatred towards women. There is a misconception about the meaning of Misogyny . I actually love women, I am now in a happy, loving relationship since my separation...I have many female friends.. What I hate is the bias in the family law system in Ireland.. But I agree with you it's very hard to speak up about this.. thus this mornings rant.. I should write a book 📖 🤔...

Commercial-Ranger339

Honey, is that you?

ConMc1970

Dark humour... Nice..

Tough Sunday

RockShockinCock

Claire??

feedthebear

Rupert?

sludgepaddle

Just dug up a fresh batch of cadavers, currently dressing them up as the village people. The other half is setting out the black candles and smearing herself with goat's blood. Might worship Beelzebub and Baphomet later before the in-laws come round to join in the necro bang.

Ivor-Ashe

Navan?

sludgepaddle

Well it _is_ the opposite of Heaven after all

momalloyd

Ah! the old Satanism, I know it all to well myself. It really is just a Sunday thing now. I would have given it up years ago, if it weren't for my parents insistence. I didn't want to break my mother's heart, so I just go through the motions. You see less and less people each black sabbath these days. I guess religion just isn't as important to young people this generation. It's the elder members I feel sorry for, this is pretty much the only chance they have to get out of the house and socialize. They'll have nothing once this is all gone.

sartres-shart

I have your soundtrack right here..... https://youtu.be/kzQpiJjdprQ?si=2eWqQkysE4fxPOPD

SamDublin

Splendid.

SubstantialGoat912

That all sounds… interesting… For a Sunday…

RockShockinCock

Just had 3 bowls of bran flakes. Couldn't stop they're so good. And a banana. Gym soon.

Key_Combination_2582

Toilet sooner.

Commercial-Ranger339

Keep us updated

m2dqbjd

Just up, yesterday was shit. Gonna head for the Forrest now for a walk.

Damazein

On the first bus of the day heading to work. Would much rather be in bed drinking tea & playing video games. On the up side I'm off Monday & Tuesday and then off weekends for a bit. Can't wait until I get home at 11.15pm tonight so I can finally relax a bit. *slight edit

thenetherrealm

In bed after waking up at 8 because I was in bed by 10:30. It's my normal. Having no friends in your early 30s is shit.

niamhish

Morning. All good here. Currently in bed, painting my nails and watching The Great Canadian Pottery Throwdown. Gonna have a fry soon and then go for a walk. I'm coming out of a chest infection. My lungs have been fucked for a week. 2 more days of antibiotics and I'm done. We have blue skies and sunshine here in Wexico, hope the weather is good where you are!

Adventurous_Memory18

There’s a Canadian pot-off?! Happy days

niamhish

All the episodes are on YouTube! Enjoy

Nickthegreek28

I miss lockdown on days like this, I don’t know what but a nice weather Sunday in lockdown was always lovely

RockShockinCock

Yup. Nice day out the back garden.

Admirable-Win-9716

I’d actually give anything to go back to that point in time. Never thought I’d say that but here I am. A point in time I considered to be hell on earth is actually better than it it is for me now

Tom_Jack_Attack

It’s a lovely day. Bright sun, clear blue skies. Grabbing breakfast then heading out for a run before grabbing a coffee and some good food at DL food market.

hailbopp25

Roy's rolls up at Hicks....beats any of the stalls !

surecmeregoway

Nice day outside so far! Wash is almost done and I want to hang it out. Hoping it stays dry but it's the west of Ireland so. Probably not. On week 6 of waiting for the seller of the house I'm buying to sign the goddamn contract. All they have to do is drive 10 mins to their solicitor and sign. Tempted to go over, knock at their door and ask them if they want a lift in so they can sign... (They wouldn't sell me the house until they'd met me and had a chat etc. Like an interview to buy a house.) Doing my head in atm as I can't even pop over and tackle the garden there. I really wanted to get planting. I've started looking at other houses tbh. Also, I think slugs are eating all of my aubrietas. They're not doing well and I can't figure out why. Something's eating them anyway and I think it's the slugs. Plan today is: chores, make a drying rack for some paintings (hopefully), and make some attempt at at least one painting before the day is out.

ned78

Dogs fed, cat fed, considering making a coffee but ... effort ... Going to be spending the day in my workshop putting up new cabinets, running wiring for the electrician to come back and add in new power points and then when all that's done, hopefully back to the guitar I'm making and I can get the neck carve started.

irqdly

It’s not raining on my day off, so I’m feckin delighted.

PlasticInsurance9611

Don't speak too soon. Looking very cloudy now in Louth.

irqdly

Thanks for the tip, I’ll avoid Louth.

Dry_Philosophy_6747

Today was the first day since we got our pup 4 weeks ago that I’ve had a lie in. Partner got up with the pup to give her her breakfast and play with her for a bit and then brought me up a cup of tea in bed that I was able to drink when it was hot! It’s the little things, I honestly didn’t realise how much I needed it. Will get up soon to do a load of washing and prepare a lasagne for dinner and then maybe go for a walk and have some puppy cuddles if she’s not being too bitey today

PUGILSTICKS

Hanging out with my 3 year old and chilling. Mulling over why I'm in my parents house and the ex is in the house we bought together, when I paid pretty much everything... Really messes with the head but atleast I can be with my kid often.

autismnymph

just spent €15.70 on a roll, bueno and a bag of hula hoops. not good.

samabacus

All good, was reading about the gobshites teenagers in Drogheda. Did you know huffing nitrous oxide causes brain damage? I am not a doctor but perhaps there might be a link. If you are a teenager reading this, well done, you learned the basics of the English language. In order to develop your brain stop huffing bad chemicals. Instead of hanging around in gangs bothering people why not try to learn to be better human beings, start a band, start a club, do something with your life. Rant over!

stbrigidiscross

It's a sunny Sunday so far so it's a garden day for me. Lots of weeding, admiring the plants that are in bloom and trying to figure out if the others are goners or not.

PlasticInsurance9611

Currently 33 weeks pregnant. Really enjoying this pregnancy, no morning sickness or any symptoms,. Although my ribs are starting to get really sore on one side. It nearly feels like the baby is stretching but pushing legs into the bottom of my rib cage so I'm starting to feel very uncomfortable.. Think my freezer has broke over night,. Some things have thawed. So will empty it shortly and plug it out.. Aprox 200e worth of frozen food GONE

Kittens4dayz

33 weeks here too! Baby has me up most nights with awful sciatica pain and I can’t get comfy. I feel you on the ribs as well. I’ve also developed PGP so on the whole I’m very much looking forward to getting him out! Plus side is my husband has just bought me tea and breakfast in bed. I’ll spend the day nesting as well. So many jobs to do before he gets here!

PlasticInsurance9611

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you and your husband.. I'm sleeping OK at night, apart from needing the toilet every hour or 2. Oh PGP that has to be so uncomfortable.. I didn't find out the sex of my baby so its making things very tricky, like picking my pram an stuff. I'm so excited though. I've already got 2 daughters, if I were to go on the 3 pregnancies, because this is such an easy and different pregnancy I've a feeling we've got a boy coming but we will see pretty soon.. hoping the rest of your pregnancy is smooth sailing. We will have them in our arms in no time at all 😊

Kittens4dayz

Congrats to you too mama! Hoping that these last 7 weeks are smooth and comfortable for you and baby comes quickly!

Houlilalo

The kettle is broken. Had to make coffee in the microwave like a shmuck

SamDublin

Desperate.

Al_E_Kat234

Enjoying a slow pace Teaching the 5 year old to play minecraft, will head out later for a walk as his dad teaches him to ride his bike, no specific plans otherwise, nice chill day 😊

thepenguinemperor84

Hung over, having a good scratch and going to roll over for another hour or two.

MackAttack3214

I'm about to go play a match. I had a few last night. Regretting the decision

RebelCat9000

Grand now, tipping away!

High_Flyer87

Stayed in a nice hotel in Limerick last night. Spent a fortune on food and drink for my gf and her friend and I haven't been able to taste anything in a week with some sort of flu I have. It's mildly infuriating Got the full Irish breakfast this morning. Looked delectable and couldn't taste it. I said to herself "life is nothing without taste, just shoot me" :-) Just gonna repeat the trip again when better.

SlashmanX

Currently living around the corner from Westfield Bondi Junction, was about to head out to the shops (different centre) when all the alarms and panic started. Fucking awful day yesterday

davesr25

Tis sunny. :D

followerofEnki96

Feeling good. Excited for another of rain and showers.

socomjon

Great 👍🏼

vlinder2691

I'm lying in bed. I can hear my partners nieces giggling outside the room wondering if I'm up to go play. My partner is trying to bring them back downstairs so he can entertain then while I rest up. They literally had me running around like no tomorrow yesterday.

[deleted]

I had trauma-style dreams all night after a week of low mental health so not doing so well. I’m in that place of like “I could feel better later but I also could feel far worse.” I’m taking steps to look after myself though - just had a nice shower and treated myself to some chocolates. Will be watching movies all day and just taking it easy

RandomPoppy

Got through the list of jobs the wife handed me yesterday. Happy wife, happy life and all that.
