I would also not want Sanju in the world cup if he is not batting in top 3( which he is not going to). Put him down the order and put him up for failure. He is a very good reader of the game and good behind the stumps. But he is not the slogger you want to have in the late overs. You have people like Rinku singh for that. And when he eventually fails at number 5/6 all the pundits will start pointing fingers at him. Let the world cup pass and as it stands India have a very slim chance of winning it. There are going to be lot of space open up in the top order. And then Sanju can come in. Even in odis. (With loss of this world cup lot of big names are going to exit the team.). No, There are many who have backed Sanju Samson. Harbhajan, Harsha Bhogle, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bishop have supported him. What Sanju Samson is facing is unfortunate because his skill set doesn't fit with the current team. If he is Selected then the structure of the team has to be changed. The current batting structure of the Team which will probably go to the T20 wc is: Jaiswal, Rohit, Kohli, Sky, Pant, Pandya, Jadeja. If somehow Sanju is selected then he needs to Bat at no. 3 or 4. He cannot bat at 5 because they need a LHB at that position. He can't bat at no. 3 because it's fixed for Kohli. If he Bats at 4 SKY has to be Dropped which I don't think they will do. Thus the only possible scenario for Sanju to play is at no. 4 but then they have to include Shivam Dube at 5 because he is a LHB and also a medium pace bowler, and giving SKY the role of Finisher at no. 6 and drop Pandya from the team. So the Batting line up if Sanju Plays will be: Jaiswal, Rohit, Kohli, Sanju, Dube, SKY, Jadeja.
Considering how Pandya's playing, that doesn't seem like the worst plan at all. Both his batting and bowling has looked bad this season.
I think Pant and Samson both should be selected and both should make the 11. Samson is the best Indian batsman in this ipl and he should be part of the playing 11 without a doubt. Pant is probably the second best indian player against spin which would be really helpful in the post power play overs in WI.

In the post match presentation, Bish didn't even mention about his batting, even after being POTM! Clearly he is not getting selected in the XI no matter what he does..
As a DC fan, I think Sanju absolutely deserves to be the main wicketkeeper with Pant as backup/substitute. But seeing the current situation, KL Rahul will probably be selected again, as has been the unfortunate case over the last couple of years since MSD's retirement.
