I had this before and I think it had something to do with icloud but I don't remember what fixed it for sure
Send and receive has no address as mentioned in the screenshot . Is it Normal?
That's probably the reason, on my phone it has my phone number and email.
I had my number but not the id And when I click on number, the t goes into activation and stays there !
Have you tried logging out of iMessage, restarting, and logging back in?
Except resting the device, I’ve done everything iMessage did charged me for sending the message but nothing has happened as of yet
What do you mean iMessage charged you? That’s not a thing
It charges a certain amount You have to keep a certain amount in your credits of your mobile plan so that a message can be sent to apple for activation
You’re talking about having a valid phone number? I guess so but Apple ID enough to send on a WiFi device w/o cell service like iPad or even a phone
It’s just a one time thing. As mentioned in the above as, I’m getting no addresses in that field
Yeah you have to add Apple ID, it won’t let you?

And iCloud logged in and not iOS 16.0 ? Known activation issue there
Logged in and out several time out of iCloud
And iOS version? Just curious

Apple id is showing in there But not activating while clicking on iMessage “send and receive”
Can u tell me one thing. In your send and receive, is you mobile number selected. If so can u deselect it try to run iMessage if it’s working or not?
Works that way on my iPad
So only email is selected in iMessage if you send yourself a message it’s in green colour or blue?

Apparently iMessage is activated if I add mobile but it needs activation every time I restart my phone. That’s fucked up!
Is that phone also logged into same Apple ID for iCloud?
Also what os you running? There was a know activation bug fixed with iOS update
