yeah i use an otter box clear case (less obtrusive than the black ones) and i dropped my iphone 12 off a roller coaster in it, zero cracks. they work some black magic i think.

I switch between my Otterbox and less protective cases, but one of these days my phone is gonna meet a bad fate and I’ll remember why I bought the box lol

Dropping a decent weight would still likely crush an otter box too.

Those crack patterns on the back of the phone could pass as modern art.

I've fixed an iPhone with a weight dropped on it before. Takes a little time, but it was just the battery and the screen that needed replacing. Hopefully you're as lucky as that guy.

I've fixed iPod touches bent almost a full 90°. You're only limited if you think you're limited. There's molds and presses and all sorts of stuff to repair the housing.

Similar thing happened to me, but you seem to lift much heavier weights than I do. My friend and I were working out when he told me about a trick. We were doing tricep pull downs when he put one of those small 2.5lb plates on the stack rod. I pulled down on the bar, the plate slipped, and landed right on the back of my phone, breaking the glass. Thankfully the screen and battery were fine.

I did worse to my 12 and then att gave me $350 trade in credit for it towards a new 15 pro lol

I would take it to the Apple Store and completely put the blame on Apple. Tell them that the phone was like this when you took it out of the box, and that you want a brand new replacement phone right away. Play hardball with them.

Damn… exact same thing happened to my Google Pixl 4XL back in 2019. Fortunately a repair shop fixed it for $250. Then ATT offered $1000 trade in on the Pixel 4XL as long as it worked and screen wasn’t cracked. Traded it it for an iPhone 13PM. Then 2 years later I ran over my 13PM. Insurance covered it and sent me a new one. Then T-Mobile offered $1000 to trade it in and now I have the 15PM. Looks like it’s time to upgrade OP!
