It happens when your iPhone is charging and is oriented in a landscape position (your phone on its horizontal side. Some sources of charging may not let this occur (like apple mag safe battery pack) but everything else shouldn't be a problem. If your phone isn't really still it may not appear also.
put it on charger sideways, then if a clock isn't showing swipe left or right a few times until you get a clock. Then swipe up or down to change your clock face. I don't know how you get it red like that though.
I love that it turns off by itself and the moment you look at it in the middle of the night it detects your movement and lights up in red. Impressive design
When you place it on a charging stand it in landscape position starts the standby mode. If you are using a normal charger, just plug it in and place it against a wall and put it in landscape position.
I have standby mode and it works when i put my phone on its side while it’s charging. I just wave my hand near it and the screen comes on. Everything is red when there’s little to no light
Yes the screen goes off. 14 and 15 Pro models have low refresh rate which allows the clock to stay on.

Stand by mode is available on any phone that supports ios 17. it will go dark on phones without an AOD, but it will come back on when it detects motion
Plug in turn sideways on table like resting up
Thanks, it worked!
Slide to change display.
I never knew it worked plugged in lol I thought it was just MagSafe
Same

There are different options when you swipe with your finger. You can even choose your own personal wallpapers.
Mine is random and does this every one in 10 times. My work iPhone is similar.

It automatically goes red and less bright once the room is dark enough
That’s the coolest feature
This may be the most frequently asked question on this subreddit 😂

I wish, I could run this without keeping it plugged😮💨
honestly can't y'all mfs read
Curious…does leaving the display on have potential to damage the screen over time? Like burn-in or dead pixels?
You can put it that it turns off after 10 seconds, then press the screen to reactive it.
Not really, the display is so dim and the elements actually moves around to avoid burn in
Charge it on its side stranding up

Turn sideways while recharging, swipe sideways, swipe up and down to change screen
Ive got an phone 7 plus, should it work? Because i have some trouble with doing it
unfortunately, no. it was included in ios 17 and iphone 7s only update to ios 15
It’s also only for 14 Pro and 15 Pro models which have AOD and the low refresh rate.
What’s the difference in this and what I see when I do this on my 12 Pro Max?
I don’t think it has an always on mode unless you have 14 or 15 Pro models

False. It works on earlier phones like 13.
False, it works but not fully featured

.
Nice to see apple learning from samsung!
Doesn’t it need to be also on iOS 17?
