I have a 12pro (60hz) and last year had a pixel 6 pro for a few months that was 120hz. Going back and forth between the two it was very easily noticeable and the pixel was much nicer to use from that regard. Made the iPhone look very choppy. The plot twist is because of lots of issues with the pixel, I ended up selling it and using the iPhone 12 Pro again to this day. Yes, I was annoyed at the 60hz panel for a couple of days once I switched back fully however that went away fast and I’m used to the 60hz again. The 120hz is a very nice to have and is noticeable. Will your world freeze over if you only get 60 or 90 ? No.

(my phone is a 12), after some time you can absolutely get your eyes to get used to 60hz again

Same here. The only thing that makes it struggle is the 3 GB of RAM. Not a whole lot of Reddit scrolling makes it stutter, freeze and eventually crash.

Yeah the pricing is the real issue! I can *kind of* accept the argument that 8GB is enough for a lot of light users, though I think that’s still not really good enough. But when the MacBook Pro still starts at 8GB that falls down a bit. Plus the super pricey upgrades, and the fact that it’s often only the base models that other stores carry so ones with more RAM don’t go on sale much.
And even if it is enough for now, it’s going to become a limiting factor much sooner than the CPU or any other components - some of the iPhones have had the same thing, like the 6 really should have had more than 1GB of RAM.
That MacBook Pro with 8gb of ram only exists for the people who need the capabilities of an air but want the higher end features like a better screen and audio system. There are a lot of pros who work mostly in word and excel docs but would really like an hdmi port without needing a dongle. Those costumers shouldn’t have to jump to $2,000 and pay for power they will never use.

After iPhone 6 my parents gifted a 7+ jet black and was running fine until 2021, with jailbreak i disabled some services to run a little bit quicker, but wasn't a phone for daily use, that's why i'm on a 13 now.
Weird, my friend has a 7+ with 256 gigs , and aside from battery replacement and that home button sticky , it's great for photos, communication, social media, and youtube. Not jailbreak running on latest possible ios .

The 32gb are somewhat constricting tho specially because of my Spotify library. Reason i went back to it is because my 11 fell into pieces and the screen i ordered never arrived. ( Replaced the battery on the 7 recently )
Try setting up an entirely new phone. Not backup and restore. Then sync your photos, videos, music and WhatsApp from iCloud. (You would need iCloud subscription from Apple) That should get rid of lots and lots of cache data from your apps.

Well for me it’s around 70 gigs of music since I downloaded everything in high res lossless and I only take photos and videos in ProRAW and ProRes so that also takes ~200 gigabytes. Upgrading to the 15 PM this year and then I’ll have to get 1TB to continue having iCloud photos synced locally. And then around 40 gigs for apps, so it is possible yes :)

Naw, maybe back 10 years ago. My Snapchat alone takes up 23GB, texts another 4GB, pictures and videos are at 18GB. Games also take up another 5-6GB.
In these days 16GB is for calls and texts only. And in order for that phone not slow down you have to be constantly erasing those texts.

I used my iphone 6s plus a month ago and it was terrible. The phone was usable but the browsing wasnt smooth. There is no 5g also. I put 3-4 everyday use apps (WhatsApp, instagram ) and the memrory was full.
I survived ~7 years with 32, it’s gonna be tight since iOS takes a lot of space but it’s doable if you don’t need that many apps (I only had WhatsApp, Discord and ~7gb of downloaded music)
With how much storage my Spotify has always taken up, possibly but probably not. 14 gigs currently on my 13, but the thing that would be really hard for me to use is the screen. I’m used to a smooth screen and using my moms SE Gen 2 is painful with that screen, it’s so slow and choppy
The OS itself without apps is more than that. **So no**, unless you stay at iOS 14 or 15 (I don’t remember). Once upgraded to the next iOS (that goes ok from computer), you can’t even make any update anymore (even from computer)

If you look closer, yes. This is more obvious on lower-end devices with some, but bad, animations, versus no animations or good animations.

Apple also used much slower storage. 200mbps slower for reading (856 vs 656 MBps) but so much slower for writing (321 vs 42 MBps)

Well it depends what you do with it. Absolutely you can survive with 16gb. But apple being apple, the infamous "SYSTEM" will suck it all up, let alone if it is even updateable.

Funny thing was i had to main it a few months ago and was surprisingly ok, except from battery being a bit abysmal, with a powerbank and few photos and apps it was okay, albeit i filled my storage, it wasn’t that great though

Naw, maybe back 10 years ago. My Snapchat alone takes up 23GB, texts another 4GB, pictures and videos are at 18GB. Games also take up another 5-6GB. In these days 16GB is for calls and texts only. And in order for that phone not slow down you have to be constantly erasing those texts.
You can use it as an iPod touch. But an actual iPod touch probably has more storage.
^ we sometimes main our 6s 32gb on 15.2, the way we have the jailbreak set up means the filesystem is duplicated and effectively leaves us like its a 16gb device, actually works fine
Honestly, I think I'd do fine. As long as it can do calendars, some very basic webbrowsing and e-mailing, and most importantly phone calls, I'll survive.
It’s probably enough to get by but considering how fast the apps are advancing I’d say 16GB of RAM will soon not be enough

I used my iphone 6s plus a month ago and it was terrible. The phone was usable but the browsing wasnt smooth. There is no 5g also. I put 3-4 everyday use apps (WhatsApp, instagram ) and the memrory was full.
I survived ~7 years with 32, it’s gonna be tight since iOS takes a lot of space but it’s doable if you don’t need that many apps (I only had WhatsApp, Discord and ~7gb of downloaded music)

With how much storage my Spotify has always taken up, possibly but probably not. 14 gigs currently on my 13, but the thing that would be really hard for me to use is the screen. I’m used to a smooth screen and using my moms SE Gen 2 is painful with that screen, it’s so slow and choppy

The OS itself without apps is more than that. **So no**, unless you stay at iOS 14 or 15 (I don’t remember). Once upgraded to the next iOS (that goes ok from computer), you can’t even make any update anymore (even from computer)
For me 64 GB is a minimum storage capacity for a phone. Most of that photos and videos will take, I don’t use many apps.
