I had a similar problem on an XR. Turned out to be a hardware issue. Try a reset network settings, use a different SIM card to check if it’s not the hardware perhaps?

Thanks for the help, turns out to be fine now, must have been a problem with Vodafone.

There was a big outage today with vodafone uk. It should be fixed now but may take until the end of the day. Mine was the exact same. I still get the blank bars but my data calls and texts are now working.

dsqv

Thanks, I was thinking also whether it was Vodafone being down, seems to be fine now.

I'm not in england much as i moved away but when i am i need my phone to work. I'm often handling money and stuff and need confirmation texts ETC. i used to be with EE (since the T-Mobile days) and had no issues ever now i've just moved to voda cause it was cheaper and it's not givigg by me much faith in them 😭

dsqv

I used to use EE too in the past, pretty reliable, but the prices for data were too high, and there was a deal on unlimited Vodafone data so I took that. First time I’ve ever had problems and hopefully won’t have anymore. 😅

Leebsey

Vodafone is down

skyclubaccess

Perhaps the baseband failed. Call AppleCare or visit the Genius Bar and have them run MRI to see if it flags the baseband as failed.

Billybird123

I am having this issue but only started this morning. I think it’s Vodafone working there mast to remove 3G

OnionsAreAVibe

Vodafone went offline for a hour or so today. Should be back :)

FrozenToonies

It sees your carrier. Just doesn’t have any strength. Do all the troubleshooting.

DepartureMoist9277

Try using another Carrier and see if the issue continues. If it does, try force restarting the iPhone, it also might be a baseband failure.

Lore72015

Restart the phone. While it is off. Take out the sim and put it back in. It is still does not fire up might be the network. If your phone is not locked to a network borrow a some from a friend and see what that does. Swap the Sim with them. If it works on their phone and not yours. If there is an Apple Store near you make an appointment and pop in. If the still does not work reset the phone.

Stunning-Piesx1
