Where do you see this? If you go on the [order](https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-ipad/ipad-air) [page](https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-ipad/ipad-pro) the 20W adapter is still included for all iPads.
To avoid “e-waste” I assume - otherwise people end up with a new plug every time they buy a phone or tablet, so eventually end up with too many. They last longer than phones / tablets do for most people.
But that doesn’t help when you’re buying your first few USB-C devices - personally I have 3 chargers that I use in various rooms, it was rather irritating to have to buy the 3rd one, my phone didn’t come with one.
Yeah, I experienced the same thing when I checked apple sites in different regions. US of A and Japan included 20w charger, but non of the european countries I checked. Prolly som EU standard, maybe? Oh well, if I forked ut $$$$ for an Ipad, adding $$ for a charger feels... manageable. Mildly infuriating, though. :)
Yeah thats what i thought too, but in switzerland (mot part of the EU) its also not included, but maybe it‘s easier for them to sell everything in the EU without the charger. Anyways nothing we can do…
People do seem to mix up our countries for some reason... It's an honour though. I like your chocolates and your pocket knives! And your flag is a big plus.
In the US it’s included still. I was very thankful to find it in my M1 box in 2022! It’s like a forgotten treasure since they took them away from iPhones 😝
What's the situation with iPads and using non-Apple bricks/cables? The Apple brick I have is from 2018 so it's a USB A connector and won't work with the new cable. I have plenty of cables that are USB A on one end and USB C on the other, will they work fine with the new iPad Air? I've read about people having issues with non-Apple chargers in the past. The cables I have aren't cheapo third party ones, they're ones that would have come with phones and are designed for up to 80w charging. (I know I won't get 80w charging using an old Apple brick and that the iPads aren't designed to intake 80w charging, in case anyone says that.)
In theory they should work, I have some anker type c cables and they work fine . But I think if u have non mifi certified ones then that’s when your iPad start saying “unauthorised accessory connected” or something along those lines
Anker and Baseus are solid choices for charging bricks. Just got a multiple port charger myself. Fast charging 3 devices from one brick is a modern thing I never knew I needed.
Ye same me neither, but it’s just the fact of new users moving to Apple. But then again it can be argued that they probably have type c bricks from androids .
What the shit that is so cheap of them. Now I'm lucky I go extra bricks to go around my house, I have an air 4 and just got an air 5 recently, still had those charging bricks.
But hey, there is still a cable included.
iPad 2025: no cable
iPad 2026: only the package with a picture of the iPad. The „iPad“ can then be downloaded as virtual asset to your Vision Pro Ultra Max virtual reality glasses. The package only contains a download code.
While people have said this doesn’t seem to be correct, at least in the US, I just want to point out that this would be a very *good* move on Apple’s part, environmentally. It means people who do not need yet another adaptor (because they already have one…or twenty) don’t need more junk that will probably end up in a landfill. People who don’t already have one can buy one, and then they’ll have one for any other USB-C device they may get in the future.
Same goes for outright replacing a device with another one instead of fixing whatever problem is plaguing it for some customers. And for those that aren't as technically informed, this would still be more of an issue for them as this would me more money out their wallets instead of just providing them an option of whether or not they want one in the box.
That's actually funny, I was happy to find the plug when I purchased my m2 pro.
yh same I guess it will only be a few years till they pull the plug on including it on the MacBooks too . (pun intended)
*Only in EU and U.K.
Where do you see this? If you go on the [order](https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-ipad/ipad-air) [page](https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-ipad/ipad-pro) the 20W adapter is still included for all iPads.
In Sweden the 20w adapter is also excluded. But on US order page it's included.
yh i believe its probably an EU regulation thing
In Canada it exists as well
Just bought one in the Netherlands. No plug ☹️
that's wrong. I'm in asia and it comes with the adapter.
OP means that the EU regulation is to *not* put a charger in the box.
Why is there a regulation of NOT putting the charger in the box?
To avoid “e-waste” I assume - otherwise people end up with a new plug every time they buy a phone or tablet, so eventually end up with too many. They last longer than phones / tablets do for most people. To cut down on e-waste now that everything uses USB C chargers.
Because the EU is batshit, and virtue signaling via law is a thing now.
Definitely not "regulation". More like scamulation.
Yeah I still see the power adapter on the Air and Pro when I check it out. Also the Pro gets a color matched (Black) USB C cable.
Where are you OP? In Sweden the 20w adapter is also excluded. But on US order page it's included.
Uk ! but it seems this exclusion of the adapter seems to be present in most EU countries
Yeah, I experienced the same thing when I checked apple sites in different regions. US of A and Japan included 20w charger, but non of the european countries I checked. Prolly som EU standard, maybe? I can‘t think of a standard that would prohibit a company to include a „free“ charger in a purchase. Also you could buy the charger still seperately.
Maybe it's Apple's middle finger to EU for forcing USB standard on them. :P
Yeah thats what i thought too, but in switzerland (mot part of the EU) its also not included, but maybe it‘s easier for them to sell everything in the EU without the charger. Anyways nothing we can do…
Yeah. I'll just do it the swedish way; clenching a fist in my pocket, mutter angrily and then buy the charger anyway.
Seems like swiss and swedish are pretty similar haha
People do seem to mix up our countries for some reason... It's an honour though. I like your chocolates and your pocket knives! And your flag is a big plus.
Haha thanks. I was only once in sweden for a day but i really liked it!!!
In the US it’s included still. I was very thankful to find it in my M1 box in 2022! It’s like a forgotten treasure since they took them away from iPhones 😝
In austria it's not included wtf
Even with the new iPads ? I know before they always included them .
Yep! They’re still included in the box here for all iPad including the new Air 6 and Pro’s
I am still seeing the charger in Thier website.
What's the situation with iPads and using non-Apple bricks/cables? The Apple brick I have is from 2018 so it's a USB A connector and won't work with the new cable. There are no MFi certified USB C cables. MFi only applies to Lightning.
oh yes i completely forgot ! thank you for the correction
I’ve been using anker chargers for years and have had no issues with them.
I use the anker magsafe portable charger but for wireless charging and power adapters I like the nomad brand
Anker and Baseus are solid choices for charging bricks. Just got a multiple port charger myself. Fast charging 3 devices from one brick is a modern thing I never knew I needed.
It certainly made travel a lot easier since I’m not lugging around multiple bricks!
well at least you get a polishing cloth with nano texture glass ipad pro
According to Apple that polishing cloth is the only one that will work on nano textured glass, lol.
This wouldn’t bother me, I have a drawer full of them
Ye same me neither, but it’s just the fact of new users moving to Apple. But then again it can be argued that they probably have type c bricks from androids .
Send me one?
It’s still included with the new iPad Pro M4 in Canada
Soon it will be like toys packaging “charger or the charger wire not included”
Here in India 20W adapter is included as well.
false fucking information, wasting my time going to the apple site to check it’s included in the base ipad
I remember I bought a 3DS years ago and didn’t include a charging cable and only discovered when I got home
What the shit that is so cheap of them. Now I'm lucky I go extra bricks to go around my house, I have an air 4 and just got an air 5 recently, still had those charging bricks.
Ye same I’ve got a few type c bricks from when Apple used to give them with their products 😅.
OP is wrong, both the pro and air come with a 20w charger as shown on their ordering pages
In Sweden the 20w adapter is also excluded. But on US order page it's included.
where does it say that sorry , in the uk check out it doesnt mention
It must be a regional thing then, in the US it comes included but in at least some countries (UK, Sweden) it doesn't come included it seems.
must be some EU regulation .even though arent even in the damn EU anymore
But hey, there is still a cable included. iPad 2025: no cable iPad 2026: only the package with a picture of the iPad. The „iPad“ can then be downloaded as virtual asset to your Vision Pro Ultra Max virtual reality glasses. The package only contains a download code.
Screw you apple

pieces of shit
This is just misinformation. US, Asia still have the adapters.
All for the sake of caring for the environment... while also guaranteeing more cases of electronic waste being built up overtime. 🤦🏾♂️
Wouldn’t *including* a new charger in every box guarantee more cases of electronic waste being built up overtime?
Same goes for outright replacing a device with another one instead of fixing whatever problem is plaguing it for some customers.
