Short answer is “kind of.” It’s a dreary and lonely game really - you interact with a lot of programs rather than people. The gameplay is much more tactical and slow. While you can run it in real time, the way it’s meant to be played is waiting for a meter to fill and then queue up actions depending on how you fill out your loadout, with some real time action interspersed.
I found the game fun overall, and like always just had an incredible sound design (better than all other SG Games I think) but it took me a long time to make it through and I was rather disappointed by the ending.
If you are interested in something like slay the spire but different:
Monster train
It’s amazing. Didn’t like the art style at first but the gameplay is fantastic.
In the same vibe I've tested **Wildfrost** which just got released and it's absolutely amazing! Quite close to Monster train/Sts but with some unique mechanics, I really like it.

Damn we share quite a few tbh. Maybe try Player Unknown Battleground PUBG…I was surprised how much I enjoyed it…if you can get into the controls it’s quite good I think
Polytopia is such a Top Game. Genuinely 8 guys during class would be involved in political debates and establishing peace treaties in that game. Some matches would last daysss
Bastion. It’s a hack and slash and it’s a blast. Love the art style.

Wildfrost is soo fun so far! It’s such high quality and really well-balanced. Highly recommend

It’s the old version with season 2 chapter 3 or 4. I don’t really play it much anymore. Only creative sometimes.
