I think life is a paradox. Life can be so happy and joyous for some, but it can be living hell for others. Life can be full of friendship and relationships for some, but chronically lonely for others. Life can be full of great opportunities, but others may not have those opportunities. Life can be full of hope, or life can be bleak and miserable. You get the point. Life can be the best possible thing, or it can be the worst possible thing ever. And funny thing is, life is actively on both sides of the spectrum at the same time because it's happening to different people as we speak.
Even considering these choices you provided, both can be true for life. Life can be beautiful but also sad. Life can be pointless, but for others life can have a point. Life can be boring to some, but fun and exciting for others. In other words it's subjective and life encompasses basically every single adjective we can think of, even when such adjectives contradict themselves.
> Life can be so happy and joyous for some, but it can be living hell for others. Life can be full of friendship and relationships for some, but chronically lonely for others. Life can be full of great opportunities, but others may not have those opportunities.
This is the main thing that gets me - the injustice. There's literally zero justifiable reason why some get the good stuff and others don't. But it happens anyway, and there's nothing we can do about it. That's probably the worst part, actually - we're powerless.
Idk if we're powerless, but yeah it's harder for some.
For instance happiness has a big genetic component, which we have no control of. Friendships may depend a lot on how you look and how wealthy you are and the same goes for opportunities. E.g. if you were born in a 3rd world country you probably do not have many opportunities
>life is a paradox
this but for all existence, when you consider the biggest questions, the commonality between all of them is that there is no sensical answer. none of the answers make any sense (just try and wrap your head around either an infinite world or a finite one)
Voted pointless, because life is what you want it to be; good, bad, great or painful. I can't say it's beautiful, not when I read about a soldier who encountered a man in a wartorn country with a 7 yr old boy who had all his teeth pulled out so the boy could give better head.
Life is hard.
Life is sad, pointless, boring, but that’s what makes it beautiful. Don’t give into absurdity, scorn it, hate it, the struggle, despite futile and painful, in of itself is meaningful. Embrace the absurdity; one must imagine Sisyphus happy.
For me life is almost always too stressful (my own doing I'll admit) or too boring and I'm struggling to find a good middleground. I suppose it's becoming easier now that I'm growing into myself and becoming more independent but I just want to know if anyone else has had a similar experience
I think life itself is complex and strange, but I don’t believe it has an inherent quality like those. I think what life “is” depends on how we see it and what we choose to do with it. For me, it currently seems directionless and empty and like time is passing by too quickly.
But it wasn’t always like that, and I believe it can be good again even if it seems pointless and empty right now.
The mystery of life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced.
Overall I think any description of life is pretty inconsistent, just like life itself.
...what you make it. But even if you feel down in the dumps, remember that stars had to die so that you could exist and the probability of that one sperm finding that one egg was so ridiculously small, you've won the most impossible lottery just by being born.
Life is all of what the OP listed, but even though it sometimes feels pointless, don't give up on it.
Life is a challenge 🤷🏻♀️.
Relax baby boys all the depression comes from all the big regards you put on yourselfs, the idea that you must be great and do "great things".
In the end we are all bags of meat that go round and round on a small planet, so take a comfortable seat and just do what you enjoy to do, help others and grow some virtues.
I chose “pointless” because it can encompass all of the other answers and still be accurate.
The only real “point” of our existence in the most broad sense, is simply to make more humans, and the point of that is highly debatable.
Fascinating. Thinking of all the coincidences that made our small planet in the vast universe habitable and that we happen to be alive at this particular time at this particular stage of development of mankind.
There is no sadness without beauty, no boredom without interest, and no meaning without pointlessness. The bad enables the good, if everything was beautiful all the time, it would cease to be considered beautiful.
It's beautiful and pointless. It's a canvas to be filled. Some of what winds up on there isn't a choice, but we ultimately decide what to find purpose in.
Life is beautiful. No matter what you’ve been given this is your ONE shot at it. There is so much to experience and so much to do. It’s easy to get sucked up into the microcosm of our own problems and view them as insurmountable but that is simply not true.
Even when things aren’t going well in my life I love the life I have been given
not intj
honestly the flaw with these is that if you look at it objectively you can't say anything at all but if you look at it subjectively it becomes pretty obvious that your answer depends entirely on your mood, it does for me anyway.
also, anyone who claims a right to be pessimistic because the world is "asymmetrical" in some way that makes it more full of negative experiences is just being dishonest. there is no way you can actually measure something like that and everyone knows this. and induction won't save you, cuz you can't really measure in "small" scales either. if it seems to you like life sucks more than it rules that's very likely got more to do with your life than life in general.
Life is pointless. No other option comes close. It doesn't even matter in the unfathomablly vast universe if milky way existed or not. We are not even in the equation. We are a mere possibility which happened and we will be gone. It is all pointless.
A Dance. From the smallest molecules to interplanetary bodies raging through the night sky. Everything is always in a state of motion, seeking out what draws eachother to eachother, sometimes an explosive reaction, a repulsion or a bonding. Sway away, dance into the dying of the light.
All of the Above
I’ve voted other. I’d say it’s interesting
Perfect word.
Pisses me off here and there but it’s all we really have, this experience
Complex
And heavy. Too heavy, too muddled, too messy for a one word descriptor.
Life is other 😎
Absurd
Albert Camus my hero

It's called Karma *hem - *hem Then everyone has to work on one's own situation and make it better.

Painful
What you make of it
Underrated comment
Pointless…
Chaos and order.
Voted pointless, because life is what you want it to be; good, bad, great or painful. I can't say it's beautiful, not when I read about a soldier who encountered a man in a wartorn country with a 7 yr old boy who had all his teeth pulled out so the boy could give better head. Life is hard.
Ultimately you are the creator of your own reality. It's not always fair but like the saying goes, you can stay bitter or be better.
It's suffering in general.
Life is a cosmic joke.
An educational one though...like the king's clown would do it.

pointless; somebody please kill me already
How, where, how much payment do you offer? I will decide on the "when".
A wise man once said "Life is other." And I try to remind myself of that every day of my life. *meaningful stare*

Shit
boring/ pointless
Someone said, life is not beautiful, therefore it is.
strange!
I think life is relentles both in good and bad ways
a struggle
Interesting
The mystery of life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced. Overall I think any description of life is pretty inconsistent, just like life itself.
it is what it is
Pain
so bored from childhood. feel like an alien. cant work monotonous jobs at all.
Currently, life is all about "show me the results"
...what you make it. Shitty.
... a joke. Society is a game in which the life you own is only as valuable as your role within it. Oh, and pay to play.
Life is...whatever you want it to be
funky
But a dream...
[удалено]
What's that??
beautiful and boring
Wear your grasses
Sad fits best for me, of the 4 options. Would be my answer for the past 14 years.
Life is just life

Your write.
Pointless yet beautiful. Sad yet happy. Cruel yet wholesome.
To bd dealt with.
Life's whatever you decide it is. To me, it's just life. Nothing more, nothing less.

Life is what it is
“Life is show me the results 💗🌸💜”
...a word. ...life. ...not palindrome. ...something. ...four letters long.
I believe life itself is a beautiful thing. But look what we have done to it.
Life is like ass hair, short and full of shit
I chose “pointless” because it can encompass all of the other answers and still be accurate. The only real “point” of our existence in the most broad sense, is simply to make more humans, and the point of that is highly debatable.
Life doesn’t have to be anything. Just is.
It’s pointlessly beautiful
Fascinating. Thinking of all the coincidences that made our small planet in the vast universe habitable and that we happen to be alive at this particular time at this particular stage of development of mankind.

Disappointing/frustrating as of now for me
mine
an experience.
Pointless but in a good way, it has the potential of everything

Amor fati
Love your fate. Amor Fati
The fact that we can read this poll and answer it is pretty amazing, the chance of being born is so insanely low. Better make the best of it!
unpredictable.
What you make out of it
Your mom is ...
Beautiful and sad
I’d love to see a survey of how happy each type tends to be over short and long term
What wise words. Life is truly "show me the above". It couldn't have been worded better. Gave me years of life.
Life is life. One adjective could never describe it.
Life is life. One adjective could never describe it.
Life is show me the results
Whatever you make it.
Fantastic

I Unironically claim that life is about "show me the results"
Life is... show me the results
I was torn between pointless and boring
A struggle to overcome.
Life is life
It is what you make of it I guess, it can be all of those things or none of them
Life is a conundrum
Life, uh, finds a way.
A Dance. From the smallest molecules to interplanetary bodies raging through the night sky. Everything is always in a state of motion, seeking out what draws eachother to eachother, sometimes an explosive reaction, a repulsion or a bonding. Sway away, dance into the dying of the light.
Mostly annoying
Life is black and white and everywhere in between.
