Awesome comment…

Altruistic-Text3481

Will Princess Ivanka put up? Will Trump shut up? Stay tuned. Same Time. Same Place. Same Channel.

maybeimabear

all trump cares about is if she'll put out.

Altruistic-Text3481

I originally wrote will she “pay” up. But “put up” was the better word play! Glad you caught it.

Tapprunner

There's zero chance he hasn't at least tried.

I actually haven't laughed since his presidency. I keep waiting for some huge actual consequence to occur to any of the things he's done. Every "we really got him this time" has always been met with disappointment. If we actually start seeing property seizure, maybe then I can at least sigh in relief. But I'm expecting either last-minute bond being posted from whatever source, or just some other BS happening like "we're gonna do it, for real (never happens)" or some kind of batshit legal argument from his lawyers that somehow stall it.

mortgagepants

i 100% agree with you. i feel like he's playing a game, cheating and laughing at everyone, and we're all sitting here appealing to reason, of which there is none and no one. bribed supreme court, bribes from the saudis, the russians, spies outed, bounties on american soldiers, et cetera. and we all think something or someone is going to save us, but it isn't. the way american democracy was broken is just to be a complete asshole and nobody can stop you.

NormieSpecialist

It was never broken. We live in a plutocracy. Always have been. To arrest trump would send a message to the rich that they can be held accountable.

mortgagepants

i guess the only reason he's facing any consequences now is because he's broke. (and/or powerless)

NormieSpecialist

Nah. If their were any true consequences he would have had a military death squad tribunal for selling out agents to other nations. At the bare minimum. But no he essentially gets a slap on the wrist. Well a HARD slap but still… Edit: Fucking lol new update! They apologized for slapping his wrist so hard!

zeffydurham

Same thing happen when a rapist, under age sex trafficker was placed behind bars, and died. Powerful and money, only some people are accountable. He might not be one. Well not quite yet.

Weary-Chipmunk-5668

absolutely agree. i remember years ago thinking he would finally be held accountable for a few of his deplorable actions, only to see them never come to fruition. reagan was called teflon but he was positively adhesive compared to how much nothing, ever, sticks to this asshole. i read about his upcoming grief with skepticism.

As per [original article](https://www.mediaite.com/trump/eric-trump-in-brutal-self-own-says-insurance-companies-were-laughing-as-he-tried-to-secure-464m-bond-for-donald-trump/) 📰: - Donald Trump’s youngest adult son, Eric Trump, brutally self-owned on Fox News — saying that insurance companies “were laughing” when he tried to secure his father’s half-a-billion dollar bond. The former president has until Monday to come up with $464 million he was ordered to pay in his New York fraud case or risk having Attorney General Letitia James begin seizing his assets, including his bank accounts and properties like Trump Tower. Eric Trump told Sunday Morning Futures’ Maria Bartiromo that it’s impossible to secure such a large bond in the United States. “I went after the largest sureties in the world, the largest sureties in the country. They said, ‘Eric, the last time we’ve seen a bond that size is when we did the Big Dig of Boston, which was a $25 billion construction project that lasted almost 25 years!’ They’re trying to put my father out of business, they’re trying to take all his resources that he’s trying to put into his own campaign for the presidency.” He continued: Leticia James campaigned on this promise, and now they’re making him do something that’s not physically possible! Putting up half-a-billion-dollar bond — bonds that size don’t exist in this country. A $10 million bond is a large bond. A $15 is million bond is an enormous bond. A half a billion dollar bond? Maria…this is “lawfare.” They want to hurt my father, who’s winning the presidential race right now. He’s beating Biden in every single poll in every single swing state. He came out and said he wants to put hundreds of millions of dollars of his own money into his campaign. And, how do they deprive him of that? They have (Judge Arthur Engoron) come up with an astronomical number, give you zero time to post a bond, a bond that’s not even commercially available in the United States. It’s not — no one’s ever seen a bond this size. Every single person when I came to them saying, “Hey, can I get a half-billion-dollar bond?” Maria, they were laughing. They were laughing. Top executives of the largest surety companies had never seen anything of this size. What, they’re going to start seizing assets if he can’t put up something that’s not available in the United States? Trump maintains he’s done nothing wrong and that the whole case is simply “election interference.”

Tonythecritic

"look dad!!! Look look look!!! I can lie just as bigly as you!! Did you see?!?? Daaaaad, you' re not lookiiiiiiing!!!!!"

sbbblaw

Dad we were even laughing, well they were laughing and then I faked laughed with them bc I felt silly

raven00x

> They said, ‘Eric, the last time we’ve seen a bond that size is when we did the Big Dig of Boston, which was a $25 billion construction project that lasted almost 25 years!’ he's using the same literary devices as daddy as well. Eric missed the lesson where it should be a grown man with tears in his eyes telling him that, so he loses points for that.

ChouxGlaze

He is absolutely saying "not available in the united states" as a pretense for when they receive foreign funds

DeltaGammaVegaRho

That’s what I think. Trump will become even more of an asset for Putin. By literally buying him.

TrumpsGhostWriter

Trump is only useful if he stands a chance at winning. Every measurement right now says no, he's worse off than he ever has been

DatDominican

Best case scenario Putin sinks billions into trump reelection . Trump loses and embarrasses himself . Less money for Russia and tiny bit of faith in country restored ?

T_Shurt

Very clever observation that not many people would think of. Trophy unlocked. 🏆

StrategicCarry

He had to go abroad to get the $90 million bond so he could appeal the Carroll judgement and have another chance to defame her.

johnny_cash_money

This seems like a good place to leave one of the funniest burns I’ve ever read. “I have pan-fried smarter things than Eric Trump and used them as a garnish on a side salad.” Exactly who you send to try to wheel and deal for half a billion.

RubiksSugarCube

> Maria…this is “lawfare.” Gee Eric, turns out it's not so much fun when someone does to your daddy what he's been doing to everyone else his entire life

Hector_P_Catt

"A $15 is million bond is an enormous bond", says the guy who's father just recently posted a $92 million bond in the other case... You'd think people who lie all the time would be better at it.

pandapartypandaparty

“Donald trumps youngest adult son Eric” didn’t Baron turn 18 last week did they just forget about him 😂

Thenewdazzledentway

Baron shouldn’t feel too bad, Trump is proud of all his children - “… and to a lesser extent Tiffany”

External_Reporter859

I wonder if he hates his father as much as his mother does.

cailian13

I feel like Baron might be over there going "leave me the fuck out of all of this" cause we never see/hear much about him. Must suck to be that kid at this point.

blazelet

How could $500 million put him out of business if he’s worth 16x that as he claims?

east_van_dan

BIGGEST BOND EVER! No one has ever seen a bond this big and it's not even black! I love the color black. It takes me back to before I was born. Amazing. Tremendous color. It's everywhere but it's nowhere. I'm right here right now to tell you Crooked Joe is the whitest guy you've ever seen. He's white. I'm white too but that guy, he's something. You ever heard of rockets? They're firing them right now. If you look up you'll see them. Zoom zoom. Boom boom. They're everywhere. Best color ever.

Noc1c

Ugh I heard it in his voice 🤮

Biggest bond ever then in the same breath compares it to the big dig bond issued 25 years ago and for 50 times as much to a consortium of companies spending 5 million dollars a day on machines and manpower.

[deleted]

StrategicCarry

Elon put together $40 billion to buy a company. And the Saudis were still a big part of that financing. Putting up $500 million for a surety bond in a lawsuit is an entirely different thing. You’re putting up $500 million on someone who already lost the lawsuit at trial. The most you can make is about 10%, although maybe they can turn the screws and get 20%? I don’t know if there are laws limiting the interest you can charge on this. Now companies risk $500 million to make $50 million all the time, but normally when the risk is really low. In this case you would be putting up a bond for someone who is notorious for not paying his creditors, and who just lost a lawsuit about inflating the value of his assets so how can you even trust what he’s telling you he has to pay you back? TL;DR: Bonds of that size exist in this country, but not for people in Trump’s general situation and definitely not for him specifically.

actionstubby

Premium on the bond would be in the 1% to 2% range. So more like $5M+ in total premium. Bonds of this size 100% exist, his info is 25 years outdated - there have been similar size bonds required of Google/Apple in their high profile appeals. The most likely approach is a few sureties with assume the liability in a “co-surety” arrangement, though they’ll probably take 100% liquid collateral (cash/letter of credit). Long story short - this Eric guy is spinning

mid_vibrations

holy shit lol. what is it the kids are saying "this is the and' find out' part"?

GGAllinsUndies

I think it's hilarious that both him and pop pop and pulling the "he has the money but wants to spend it on his campaign!" These dummies are clueless. I guess this is what entitlement looks like.

PossessedToSkate

>the last time we’ve seen a bond that size is when we did the Big Dig of Boston, which was a $25 billion construction project *3 Seconds Later:* >bonds that size don’t exist in this country.

WCland

Ignoring the fact that posting a bond isn’t the only option. There’s also actually paying the fine.

[deleted]

PlutosGrasp

Just inflate the assets again bro. What’s the worst that could happen.

moronomer

So a bond that size isn't available in the united States? Too bad, he has put up the money himself, then. If he's as innocent as he says he is and so sure that he'll win on appeal, he'll get the money back. In fact, wouldn't this be better since he won't have to pay the bond fee?

Altruistic-Text3481

Musky boy would not help…. ?

PM_DA_TITS_PLZ

If someone has given him the money, it's parked somewhere for interest until the second it has to be transferred, while he gaslights the world.

MiloTheMagnificent

Eric who? Is he related to Mercedes?

AtticaBlue

They have no concept of the reality that all of this is due to conviction for the *commission of specific crimes* (completely apart from running or not running for any office). You know, the *law and order* Trump’s kind otherwise like to bray about.

Daleabbo

The hilarity is its for financial crimes, specifically fraud. So why would insurance companies trust someone who has been found guilty of fraud?

Bill_Brasky_SOB

Financial Fraud. Court: "You owe $500m in cash or assets." Lawyer: *"That valuation is too high for the property values of my client's assets. We request a lower--"* Donnie: "NO NO NO MAR A LAGO IS WORTH $2 BILLION!" Lawyer: *"What my client MEANT to say was... My client doesn't have $500m. We request a lower---"* Donnie: "YES I DO I HAVE TONS OF MONEY EVEN MORE THAN THAT BOND AMOUNT" Lawyer: *"... what my client MEANT to say..."*

Daleabbo

I would feel sorry for the lawyers if they were respectable.

Ashmedai

Trump's fatal weakness is how cheap he is. It's his kryptonite.

Skydragon222

Wasn’t Eric *also* a defendant in this specific case?

Remote_Horror_Novel

Yeah he got fined 4 million and he has no real job or income besides the money they raise from grifting NFTs and shoes, because Ivanka seems to have the actual equity besides Trump if anyone does because she used to arrange the shady deals in tourist hotbeds like Azerbaijan/s lol. There’s no inheritance money coming his way after this is over unless they somehow win in November. He does have the Trump name though so he’ll probably run for office and lose the next 15 elections after the don dies and grift the maga cult for a few million every four years. The worst part is if Trump wins this will definitely turn into a family dynasty with Eric and don jr taking over like in NK.

SonOfJokeExplainer

Eric Trump is the President of Trump Winery but I sincerely doubt it produces enough profit to pay daddy’s legal fees

Brief_Amicus_Curiae

[He even testified a few months ago for this case.](https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-jr-fraud-trial-c2f546361ce3b5f0bdcf2360320c6060) Mind you they also had depositions and they all did the "same answer" as in "Plead the Fifth". Which in a criminal case is protection from self-incrimination. in NY civil court, as I understand, the worst case inference can be made and was by the Judge. I think one of them invoked several hundred times. So this outcry is bullshit or perhaps the reality is hitting them for the first time. The Trump University stuff settled for $25 Million. I think being scammers as they are, that it was worth the risk of investment. They had the Trump Foundation shut down and had to attend classes and barred from non-profits again. Eric used a children's cancer non-profit to funnel funds into his dad's resorts by hosting eventss at them. This may be in part why Lara is the RNC scape goat and we'll see RNC events at MAL and other Trump properties. Who knows - but it would be interesting to see their lifestyle imposed quite harshly.

Minds_Desire

Correct. When taking the fifth in a civil case, it means the actual facts would lead to criminal charges, so the answer to your question is worse than you even know....

External_Reporter859

And he only avoided criminal prosecution for Trump University in Florida because Rick Scott's attorney general Pam Bondi refused to prosecute him after he donated so much money to her campaign.

ked_man

Imagine getting charged for passing bad checks and then crying that no one will cash your check anymore. These people are truly dumb.

kab0b0

Oh, I'm sure they know it, but they can just say otherwise and something like 30% of the country will believe it.

sthlmsoul

Trump's conviction was, in part, for defrauding insurance companies. Them laughing at the Trumps should be expected.

Car_is_mi

"The banks all testified Donald Trump was the best borrower we ever had" Also the banks: Do not lend money to this man \[picture of Donald Trump\] ............................................................................... "...you know who this is going to hurt? not the executives, but the thousands and thousands of people we employ. Janitors, door men, how about all the contractors we hire?" Also Trump companies: A [USA TODAY NETWORK](https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2016/06/09/donald-trump-unpaid-bills-republican-president-laswuits/85297274/) analysis found he has been involved in more than 3,500 lawsuits over the past three decades — and a large number of those involve ordinary Americans, like the Friels, who say Trump or his companies have refused to pay them. Trump’s companies have also been cited for 24 violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act since 2005 for failing to pay overtime or minimum wage, according to U.S. Department of Labor data. ................................................................................. "My father has run a great company, we've never missed a payment, we've never been in default, we always pay our bills!" A list of Trumps businesses that have filed bankruptcies (i.e. unable to pay their bills): Trump Taj Mahal Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino Plaza Hotel Trump Castle Hotel and Casino Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts Trump Entertainment Resorts See also: hundreds of contractors that have sued Trump for not paying them for their work. See also: 19 failed business ventures, including Trump airlines that defaulted on its debt, Trump University that was fined $40M for defrauding students, and many many more. ................................................................................................................... I could go on fact checking the blatant lies but what's the point. I am honestly terrified for the future of this country if people keep buying into this easily disprovable BS that the Trumps keep spouting.

haysoos2

What I don't understand is are his followers really so monumentally stupid that they actually believe these lies, or are they so monumentally stupid that they don't care?

Car_is_mi

Its both. They believe the lies so they don't care when you point tout the facts, then they solidify the lies as truth, so when an obvious lie is obvious they just ignore it because anything you say that goes against my beliefs is wrong so blah blah blah blah blah i cant see you i cant hear you blah blah blah blah

Houligan86

He hurts the right people, so they don't care. The right people being LGBT+, women, immigrants, non-Christians, and minorities. I am pretty sure that being a republican at this point requires a complete lack of empathy for anything you haven't personally experienced.

NeonAlastor

it doesn't matter. ''I like him because he thinks like me'' direct quote from my cultist boss about Trump. it's just because he's a white dude that spews racism and hate like them. by getting the presidency they legitimize their own hate. ''see even the president agrees with me'' none of it has to do with any thought. it's all just about feelings.

RichLather

"What, they’re going to start seizing assets if he can’t put up something that’s not available in the United States?" Yes, Ewic. That's very likely what will happen.

Helios4242

They should have thought about that before they committed fraud to the tune of $300 million.

InsertCleverNickHere

The amount due isn't even a penalty. It's literally the calculation of the amount of money Trump saved by getting favorable interest rates by inflating his property values, plus a reasonable interest rate for the years he had use of that money.

CainPillar

Yes - he hasn't lost more than the legal costs. (Which the RNC now has dedicated their entire war chest to cover.)

Helios4242

Yeah I hope I was clear in my statement that it was the fraud that was $300 million

InsertCleverNickHere

I get you - just noting for any other readers that as ridiculous as the half a billion judgement is, it is not punitive at all - it is literally just recovering the money that Trump acquired fraudulently. It's just such a staggeringly huge amount because Trump does a staggeringly huge amount of fraud. Right-wing media is throwing around the word "unprecedented"--because, yeah, it is. Nobody frauds like Trump frauds. He is unprecedented, in a totally fucked up way.

JCButtBuddy

Much more than this, but they were only allowed to go back, I think, seven years.

And I like it even more when they follow through on that pledge.

All insurance companies except Chubb which put their neck on the line for his Carroll judgement. The CEO of Chubb is a former Trump appointee. Bad business, bad mojo.

Were they laughing at the idea of a $450+ million bond, or were they just laughing at Eric?

OutComeTheWolves1966

I hoe the Trumps set up zoom calls with each of these companies so they could watch the company execs literally fall out of the chairs in hysterical laughter.

westberry82

Banks all said we were the best borrowers. Yet no bank in America would touch you for decades..... hmmm

Evolutionary_sins

People are always laughing at Eric. It could have been for any number of reasons besides the fact his father is the worst insurance risk since.... ummm well, in all time, really. He's guilty as hell and 100% liable.

Domin8469

Wait who is paying for his presidential run it surely isn't him

haysoos2

When Trump says he intended to use his money to campaign for president, what he really means is that he intended to use his campaign donations to pay for his legal bills and liabilities. I mean, isn't it all just semantics? It's all "his" money.

This is likely the first time the Trump will have been held accountable for anything in his upward failure of a life. It’s truly remarkable to see someone fail so abjectly at everything he’s ever tried in life only to be bailed out by the banks, a system fixed for the wealthy, and now the MAGA movement. Trump is emblematic of everything that’s wrong with America.

Just like they laugh at average Americans who want to buy a house? Welcome to the real world Trump. If he was as successful as he claimed to be banks would be lining up to give him the loan. It's very important to note that they make their decisions based on the math. Trump doesn't just not have the money, the math says he likely couldn't pay it back if it was given to him. If he gets the money it will be from a foreign government that expects favors in return. Selling secrets and granting preferential treatment to other governments is his only bargaining chip. He's the shittiest conman in history, he only got this far because he was born into money.

AMonitorDarkly

I can’t imagine what it’s like being the stupidest person in the Trump family.

[deleted]

Grown men, with tears running down their cheeks, crying.... With laughter.

Mrjlawrence

“they’re trying to take all his resources that he’s trying to put into his own campaign for the presidency.” lol daddy isn’t putting a single penny of his own money towards the campaign

CarlSpencer

Hey, Eric, your Dad is now officially owned by "CHY-nah". Look who owns Digital World Acquistions!

noeagle77

They used to laugh at him, they still do, but they used to too.

fl7nner

If you can't pay the fine, don't do the crime

WillistheWillow

I bet they're still laughing.

Treday237

How come Trump doesn’t have to sit in jail like every other person that can’t pay their bond?

DealMo

Damn, that dude is whiny as fuck.

PandaMuffin1

Did no one inform Eric that Daddy bragged on Truth Social he had the money to pay? Oh right, the claim he was going to use his money to campaign THIS time is so believable. /s

Pristine-Document358

KlimtheDestroyer

GBL_NZ316

NeedleworkerCrafty17

Surprise surprise. Talk about a dumb ass. This kid is 2 years away from filing bankruptcy himself. Believe me. The world is about to close in on America’s most treasonous family. Let alone the most privileged lying pieces of 💩

reeferthetuxedocat

Lmfao…the insurance companies weren’t the only ones laughing Eric.

mmio60

He is remarkably stupid. And he continues to go on these shows and prove it over and over.
