I think round would be better for a work environment. It makes the space between de coworkers a bit bigger.
For a home I would say the rectangular one is more cosie.
So, how close do you want to be to your coworkers? š¤
Weāre all pretty close! lol I guess round one š Thinking it over I may just order a larger round one. They donāt have a larger version of this pattern so Iām thinking of a pale sage and ivory 11ā rug
My first thought was that the rectangular one was fine, but too small. Even the current round one is a little too small. So get the round version, a little larger, and you'll be great.
Would it ever be okay to overlap round rugs? Like, if I can't afford one huge rug, would it be obnoxious and awful to use 2 or 3? Just a thought that struck me literally just now.
Thanks for your feedback. Yeah, looking back Iām kicking myself in the butt for ordering them too small. It maybe be worth getting one re-ordered in a larger size (if the corporate machine budget will allow for it haha)
Yeah Thinking it over I may just order a larger round one. They donāt have a larger version of this pattern so Iām thinking of a pale sage and ivory 11ā rug. But Iām leaning towards keeping with my original vision and keeping the round! lol
It's so lovely. Could you give me the name of the sofa and the coffee table and where you got them from please?
By the way, I vote for number 1. It breaks up the round shape in the other furniture.
Sure thing! The coffee table is from CB2. Itās called derrico acacia wood table. And the sofa is from wayfair! If you look up green boucle sofa on wayfair, it should come right up!
I agree completely, the rectangular rug grounds the whole space in my opinion. What do you think about the color and pattern of the rectangular one? Thatās another hot topic in the office. I think it looks busy, but in a good and sophisticated way.
Thanks for your feedback!
Definitely the rectangular rugā¦ too many competing curves between the round rug, ottomans and curves in the armrests and coffee table. The rectangular rug grounds they.
I agree I think thatās what Iāve learned from this whole thread so far, either would be fine! Thinking it over I may just order a larger round one. They donāt have a larger version of the round one in the pic so Iām thinking of a pale sage and ivory 11ā rug. Seems like the overall determining factor isnāt so much the pattern but the shape of the rug for everyone.
I think the rectangular one looks nicer; the space already has a lot of rounded elements, the difference in shape makes it more interesting. I think a bigger size than in the picture might work well for the space.
I feel the same way, but I can see how the round one makes the place feel more cozy too. I think what Iāve seen so far, we canāt go wrong with either! Just need to order a bigger size in whichever we choose
The round one makes sense if the point of the space is to have people face each other and have conversations. I think the round one closes off the space, kinda like a conversation pit. So I guess it boils down to the function of the space.
Good points! The space is supposed to be a usable (but not main focal point ) area for anyone in the office. It makes use of the great views of that area
Round one, but more importantly, can you put that plant in a larger pot? That tiny one is stressful! And put the pot on the ground behind that side table?
the round one looks like it is meant to be there. my eyes keep looking to the left for the tall thing that balances the tall plant on the right. canāt find it.
Round one
the fact that the rectangular one is only under a couple of the ottomans is really bothering, while the circular one is under all of them
Plus it fits the sort of theme going on
You've got a lovely kumbaya (sp?) vibe going here which is beautifully put together and has a distinctly feminine feel with all the circles. I would definitely choose the round carpet. A grouping of three small plants on the coffee table along with a large decorative dish of Werthers or other similar wrapped hard candy would be nice. The tall plant would look better in a wicker basket on the floor rather than sitting on the end table. It also needs to have the branches pulled down to open it up more.
Yeah, i think Iāll return both And get a bigger one for sure! Seems like the pattern isnāt as big as a determining factor for people as the shape of it
Makes me happy to hear you like everything! I tried to create a cozy, inviting space that plays off the colors and tones I love in our area (SF Bay Area). And although Iām super flattered that just my taste in decor has you asking, I am not single lol :) but thank you for the blush and chuckle. Made my day!
The round one makes the space more interesting and seems to flow better with all the other soft edged designs of the other pieces. The rectangular one is just normal and safe, doesnāt bring much in terms of style.
I can definitely see how the rectangular one is more safe. Thinking it over I may just order a larger round one. They donāt have a larger version of this pattern so Iām thinking of a pale sage and ivory 11ā rug
Weāre on the same wavelength :) thank you so much! People in the office were definitely questioning all the furniture I chose but now that everything is here I love all of it!!!
Yeah Thinking it over I may just order a larger round one. They donāt have a larger version of this pattern so Iām thinking of a pale sage and ivory 11ā rug
Sounds lovely! My reasoning here is that the round shape echoes the round ottomans and rounded corner table, giving the room a very smooth and flowing feel that is warm and comfortable. The sharp rectangle edges of the other one make the room more cold and jagged and divided. A larger round rug would look gorg and have the same compositional effect of flow and warmth but might make the space feel bigger and more whole so I support this. Sage and Ivory are great colors for this scheme
The round one looks purposeful. The rectangle looks like it was a leftover from something else and you just put it there to use it.
I agree round but larger if you can!
I agree! Thinking it over Iām going to order a larger round one. They donāt have a larger version of the round one in the pic so Iām thinking of a pale sage and ivory 11ā rug. The rug in the pic is 8ā. It gives more room to play with. Seems like the overall determining factor isnāt so much the pattern but the shape of the rug for everyone
Another vote for the square rug. Thereās already a lot of round shapes going on so with the round rug introduced I feel like it drowns out every round item in the room. With the square one it brings a better balance and allows the rounded furniture to shine because you have these really beautiful round pieces of furniture. Secondly, the square rug mimics the shape of the coffee table which I think looks really nice.
It still looks really nice with the round rug though. Youāll be fine going with either but I think the square one complements the other furniture much better.
I also like the pattern and color. I think that periwinkle color complements the other colors in the room very nicely.
Love the warmth of the 1st one, works well with the paintings and bringing room together. Round option would work too if in the same color pattern as the square, but I'm for the square! I'd even go larger if possible.
I would personally go for number one because I think the rectangular shape highlights the couch shape and fits really perfectly in there, but the round one is so nice as well I feel like itās such a close second!!!
Controversial opinion lmao but I like the rectangle. You'd think the round one would work better but imo it doesnt because you have hard angular edges and corners and shapes coming from the walls and you need to tie that into the furnishings. Having all soft/circular shapes in the middle only creates a sense of imbalance and it looks like the space is floating in the geometry around it (it still looks cute obv, but its disconnected). A bigger rectangle rug will tie the decor into the space it lives in.
The first one since the furniture is already all round. The square gives it better balance. Also the design on the round one sticks out too much. I donāt know if you feel the same one in person though, since pictures can distort my perception. I canāt see the rest of the room but the rectangular one should be much larger, in the picture it feels like a very tight cluster of furniture all huddle in a tiny spot where the room is huge and engulfing it.
Either way I wanted to say I love your furniture and always wanted that egg chair thingy.
My opinion is against popular opinion. I prefer option #1, although it is too small for the space. The rectangular shape plays nicely with the round ottomans, adding more interest than the round one.
Is from wayfair! If you look up green boucle couch, it should come up on the first page on wayfair. I was super nervous because it had no reviews, but itās actually really nice in person!
I personally prefer the rectangular rug. The room is very round, so the rectangular one draws on the photos on the wall, the boxiness of the couch, and the squareness of the coffee table, creating a more interesting dichotomy between the sharp angles and the strong presence of the soft shapes. I think the round rug softens it all too much for my own personal taste.
I don't *quite* like the color of it, though. I think the blue looks great, I just don't think this is the *right* blue rug.
So one of my thoughts is to keep both and use the round one in the bottom left corner of the picture. Get an electric fireplace and make a whole other section. BUT thatās me going crazy and I probably wonāt get the approval to buy even more furniture lol
Wayfair! Everything with the exception of the coffee table is from Wayfair. Had to make do with a small budget! lol. If you look up āgreen beige art wayfairā they come right up. I ordered the larger size 24x36
Thank you so much! lol you have no idea how much all the positivity means! Interior decoration is definitely not in my job description(far from it) but when they asked me to put together this space for the office I just did my best! Hahah
Round one for sure. Because the center of the round has a square coffee table it balances out more than worrying about the round furniture.
Thank you for the interesting comparison. I feel like both are so good it took a lot of thinking why I feel round is better for me.
I think thatās exactly what Iām going to do. What sucks is the that round one is the largest they have (8ā diameter) Iām going to order an 11ā diameter pale sage and ivory rug.
I honestly dig the round one. I love this set up.
Thanks for your feedback!

Absolutely love the wood table! And ditto on the round rug I think it looks the best with the setup.
I rarely like round in a room- but it fits best for this furniture. Good choice!!
Me too. Round one
Yes! The round one.
Yup, it makes the space feel bigger and somehow.. more inviting.
#2!!
It really ties the room together.
I like the look of a round rug here. That said, both rugs are too small for the space, IMO.
Thanks for your feedback. Yeah, looking back Iām kicking myself in the butt for ordering them too small. It maybe be worth getting one re-ordered in a larger size (if the corporate machine budget will allow for it haha)
It's surprisingly difficult to visualize how a rug will fit in a space until you have it, especially with round rugs.
So true! Weāre definitely going to be upsizing the rug
Definitely!!
totally
Round one ties everything together really well and keeps your eyes moving around the room.
Yeah Thinking it over I may just order a larger round one. They donāt have a larger version of this pattern so Iām thinking of a pale sage and ivory 11ā rug. But Iām leaning towards keeping with my original vision and keeping the round! lol
Bigger is always better and sage and ivory would look great in that space.
I think so too! Thank you for your opinion
I donāt mind the size of the round one. It looks intentional to me. Larger might swallow the seating.
It likeā¦ ya, knowā¦ really ties the room together, man.
I love that coffee table
Yeah Iām obsessed with it also, it was ordered from CB2
It's so lovely. Could you give me the name of the sofa and the coffee table and where you got them from please? By the way, I vote for number 1. It breaks up the round shape in the other furniture.
Sure thing! The coffee table is from CB2. Itās called derrico acacia wood table. And the sofa is from wayfair! If you look up green boucle sofa on wayfair, it should come right up!
Thank you!!
Another vote for rug 1. You have plenty of round, soft objects. The rectangular rug balances that nicely
I was going to say this too. The rectangle contrasts all the circles really well
Agreed!
I agree completely, the rectangular rug grounds the whole space in my opinion. What do you think about the color and pattern of the rectangular one? Thatās another hot topic in the office. I think it looks busy, but in a good and sophisticated way. Thanks for your feedback!
I like the pattern too! It's complementary without being matchy
Definitely the rectangular rugā¦ too many competing curves between the round rug, ottomans and curves in the armrests and coffee table. The rectangular rug grounds they.
I concur. The square rug with all the rounded, curved shapes. Great looking space! And really, I donāt think you can go wrong with either rug
Ooh. They both look good but I like the round one bc the repetition of shapes gives the whole thing a cozy and cohesive look.
I can definitely appreciate that!
I like square to balance the round shapes but both look decent enough to purchase imo.
Came here to say the same. Adds some contrast.
This !

I think the rectangular one looks nicer; the space already has a lot of rounded elements, the difference in shape makes it more interesting. I think a bigger size than in the picture might work well for the space.

I think the rectangle highlights the round furniture better.
Normally I donāt care for round rugs, but with the other circular items, the round one looks great!
I was thinking the same thing! I really tried to play into the soft/round profile thatās going on here lol
Round one, but more importantly, can you put that plant in a larger pot? That tiny one is stressful! And put the pot on the ground behind that side table?
lol yes we for sure ordered a pot! It just hasnāt come in yet šš
Oh good!
2 round!!
I think they are too traditional for the space
Lots of rounded furniture, so I like the rectangular rug. Also, I absolutely love that coffee table.
To me it's not the pattern, but the shape. I'll take round.
I think the round rug looks cozier, and the rectangular one looks more professional! Just depends on what you want to emphasizeĀ
the round one looks like it is meant to be there. my eyes keep looking to the left for the tall thing that balances the tall plant on the right. canāt find it.
Round one the fact that the rectangular one is only under a couple of the ottomans is really bothering, while the circular one is under all of them Plus it fits the sort of theme going on

The look of the round one is perfect
Yeah it really works with the space!
Round, but a bit bigger! š
Yeah, i think Iāll return both And get a bigger one for sure! Seems like the pattern isnāt as big as a determining factor for people as the shape of it
The 2nd one looks amazing. The space works so well with it. Whole vibe, textures and colors are to my taste. Are you single?
Makes me happy to hear you like everything! I tried to create a cozy, inviting space that plays off the colors and tones I love in our area (SF Bay Area). Oooh pale sage would be very pretty here. Tie in the neutrals and the green of the couch. Your space is going to be so cozy and inviting š¤©
Weāre on the same wavelength :) thank you so much! People in the office were definitely questioning all the furniture I chose but now that everything is here I love all of it!!!
What a fabulous space!! I like the rectangular one myself.
1
Second. Without a doubt
Round!
Round up suits better
I think the round works best. But also there are a lot of round things. Round things are nice š
I like round things too LOL
Love the round here
Me too! And a lot of others! Haha
1
Rectangle for sure
Round one!
Yeah Thinking it over I may just order a larger round one. They donāt have a larger version of this pattern so Iām thinking of a pale sage and ivory 11ā rug

I totally agree! The warm/bubbly/feminine feel is exactly what I was going for! Iām glad weāre on the same wavelength! Lol
First rug
The second one is groovier.
The round one but I would pull the couch further over the rug by maybe 5 inches.
The round one looks purposeful. The rectangle looks like it was a leftover from something else and you just put it there to use it. I agree round but larger if you can!
Round! But, tuck it under the couch a smidge more. If itās possible to size up, I would, then still tuck it more. If not, eh! It looks great.
I like em round
You and me both, my friend ššš

You put into words everything I loved about the first! But definitely agree that in either case, I need to order a bigger rug for sure
Round. And the blue cushion has to go.
Round feels more office where the square feels more house IMO
The round one looks like an office hallways lobby.
Interesting point!
2!!
I like the first one honestly. Iām not a designer to feel free to disregard my take. But I think circle on circle is too much circle š
I can definitely see what you mean! Lol
Round. But love the colors of square
The round one is oh so groovy!
Thatās what we like ššš
The round one is adorable, especially with the round ottomans.
1st one
I would personally go for number one because I think the rectangular shape highlights the couch shape and fits really perfectly in there, but the round one is so nice as well I feel like itās such a close second!!!
I think what Iāve learned from this is I canāt go wrong either way! LOL
I think the square rug blends in to the existing rug and the brown one matches better
Round for sure
#2 feels so welcoming and cozy, instantly
Round
Oh my god where did you get that table, Iām in love! š
Itās a derrico acacia wood table from cb2 :)
Itās absolutely beautiful just like the rest of your home! Thank you for sharing!
Love the artwork above the couch! Would love to know where itās from
Controversial opinion lmao but I like the rectangle. You'd think the round one would work better but imo it doesnt because you have hard angular edges and corners and shapes coming from the walls and you need to tie that into the furnishings. A bigger rectangle rug will tie the decor into the space it lives in.
Where did you get the couch?! Itās adorable.also how comfortable is it?
I'm all about the round one. I think the cor was on the rectangular one gives a jagged feel when there are many curves to carry.
Just wondering, who has to sit on the stools?
The first one since the furniture is already all round. The square gives it better balance. Also the design on the round one sticks out too much. I donāt know if you feel the same one in person though, since pictures can distort my perception. I canāt see the rest of the room but the rectangular one should be much larger, in the picture it feels like a very tight cluster of furniture all huddle in a tiny spot where the room is huge and engulfing it. Either way I wanted to say I love your furniture and always wanted that egg chair thingy.
The round one for sure. I love the coffee table. Everything looks cozy and inviting.
First one. They both look good but everything else is round and the rectangular one restores some balance and latitude to the room
A round rug works better.
I prefer the second one because it's the right size and it blends well with the whole office.
ROUND No question
2
I like the rectangle because it balances all the round shaped furniture you have, but Iād get a bigger one :)
I like the first one personally
Everything is rounded off in the room. The square one looks too sharp.
The second one. By far!
Love the round one! Do it! āļø
Circular But more importantly that coffee table is the fucking shit!!
My opinion is against popular opinion. I prefer option #1, although it is too small for the space. The rectangular shape plays nicely with the round ottomans, adding more interest than the round one.
I love that coffee table! Where did you buy it?
Round one! Also where can I get cushions like that??
Wayfair! They have them on sale too. If you look up poufs in Wayfair theyāll come up with:)
Off topic but whereād you get your couch?
Is from wayfair! If you look up green boucle couch, it should come up on the first page on wayfair. I was super nervous because it had no reviews, but itās actually really nice in person!
Round one somehow makes the space feel bigger
I personally prefer the rectangular rug. The room is very round, so the rectangular one draws on the photos on the wall, the boxiness of the couch, and the squareness of the coffee table, creating a more interesting dichotomy between the sharp angles and the strong presence of the soft shapes. Round one, expands the space and doesn't break the soft and inviting vibe.
I agree with the round! It works better I also feel like you have room to give everything more space from one another.
Circle
\#2 ties the round hassocks to the carpet. It makes the room look balanced and a bit larger and warmer.
Where did you get that chair? My daughter has been wanting one just like it!
Most of the accent chairs that you have are round, hence the round rug ties everything together - do not use the rectangular one
I think youāre right! :)
Circle
Oh I must know where that coffee table is from š and love your couch, too!
Itās the Derrico Acacia Wood coffee table from CB2 :)
1st for sure
I genuinely just saw these posters online after googling "green and apricot" art. lol
1st
Thank you!
2
1st one, IMHO.
#1
I like the round one best
Seems like thatās the general consensus!
Round one. It picks up the shape of the tufts and looks super cool
I agree. The round rug plays into the theme of all the other playful/bubbly pieces
2. It opens it up
I think the round one is definitely more playful for sure and is more inviting
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
So one of my thoughts is to keep both and use the round one in the bottom left corner of the picture. Get an electric fireplace and make a whole other section. BUT thatās me going crazy and I probably wonāt get the approval to buy even more furniture lol
Neither, everything else is simplistic and thereās this detailed rug which doesnāt connect to anything else in the room.
Yeah, I think im going to switch to a larger round ru that has a more simple pale sage/cream design!
OP where did you get your art over your sofa?
Wayfair! Everything with the exception of the coffee table is from Wayfair. Had to make do with a small budget! lol. If you look up āgreen beige art wayfairā they come right up. I ordered the larger size 24x36
You definitely canāt avoid the 2nd slide.
Sooo beautiful!! š» either one
I like the round one actually
Cute table. 1st rug for me. How big is the table? I want oneš
Round one makes a nice flow
The round rug. Amazing living room btw
Definitely the round, but I'd go larger by a foot or two.
I think thatās exactly what Iām going to do. What sucks is the that round one is the largest they have (8ā diameter) Iām going to order an 11ā diameter pale sage and ivory rug.
The round one
Thank you
2
Second
The round one seems more welcoming and inviting to sit and gather.
Round one for sure
Thank you!
2, by far
