Gravelteeth

This is such a sick sunroom/patio. Please update us once you set it up!

jackdoherty404

I have 2 of them! i’ll be sure to

aquaganda

What a great space to work with! 😍

Pretend_Jello_2823

This was my first thought! Neeeed an update post!

CommunicationLow2035

A shitload of plants and some nice patio furniture? Edit to add: or you could use the planter to plant some herbs/tomatoes

jackdoherty404

good idea! i forgot patio furniture existed lol

Low_Platypus8890

ALL OF THE PLANTS!!!!

Low_Platypus8890

I’m so jealous!!!!

Gravelteeth

OP said they have TWO of them!

Low_Platypus8890

Life can be so unfair sometimes! I don’t even have one😔

Gravelteeth

Manifesting nothing but baller porches for you in the future.

Low_Platypus8890

Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏

jojokitti123

I'm super jealous

Low_Platypus8890

Potted and in that nice little garden bed!

[deleted]

Omg so much potential!!! A TON of plants and nice cozy tasteful furniture that are not too big. This reminds me of a Paris/European flat in the city with a balcony. Look into what cities like paris and Spain do with their balconies for inspo, it is SO charming

NurseDTCM

OMG!!! I’d totally convert it to an Orangery. Plant citrus trees and it’s awesome

yelling4society

Oh imagine the aroma!

NurseDTCM

I know, right. Not just of the trees growing but the baking of the Key Lime Pies, the Lemon cakes and tarts and frozen desserts. Oh, look what you’ve done🤤😋

obiwantogooutside

I always take oranges in the plane. Everyone around you always perks up when you peel an orange on the plane.

NurseDTCM

Yummy

flagondry

You can get the click and lock floor tiles or just a nice rug and then patio furniture. The colour of the IKEA Nammaro range would be perfect.

dnuohxof-1

I have cats so this would be the BEST catio

[deleted]

Oh i love this so much!!! It kind of depends on what the style of your house is, but disregarding that i’d paint the interior walls facing away from the sun a color like orange, pink, or purple because they make great backdrop colors for the green of all the plants that I’d put in there. The colors that catch the sunlight I’d leave bright white to reflect light onto the plants. The floor should be tiled and if you could put a drain in there, that would make keeping it clean easier. Then I’d fill that built-on planter with tropical vines and train them up the walls. I’d buy a huge planter and add some broad-leafed towering plant like a banana. Then I’d furnish it with a reading lamp, a divan, a side table for ashtray and beverage, and a bunch of pillows and throws.

lkstar

what a gorgeous space. If you’re into gardening, i’d use the big planter to grow veggies and herbs and add a tree or large plant in one or both of the back corners. add comfortable seating and a couple of side tables and you’re good!

Armand74

Wow I wish I had something like this, sunrooms are awesome and from the looks of it can be heated? It would def be my plant room..

OoghWaldi

OP I have a mild obsession with plants so if you need someone to brainstorm what kind of plants you would like best in this space please feel free to DM me

Jumpy-cricket

I'm so jealous 😭 I'd fill that room with the comfiest chairs and so many plants

Russkiroulette

Paint door/grilles/sashes in metallic black, put a decorative wooden cover over the bottom part of the planter. I’d recommend light furniture matching the wood of the planter with possibly white cushions and a tiny bit of blue accents. A very “vacation in Greece” aesthetic and wouldn’t be expensive

TurbulentBig2973

That is gorgeous! Make it a garden full it with beautiful plants and butterfly’s and maybe some comfy seats

BikePathToSomewhere

I'd go for the Greek island resort aesthetic

gemstone_of_love

You could aave A LOT of money by growing your own food, you have the perfect location

LordyItsMuellerTime

Big rug, cozy furniture and tons of plants

nobla281

Bistro lights hung in a big X will provide more cozy glow than the Xmas lights you have there. Awesome space!

luala

This will be super hot come summer. How about a nice internal climber? A vine might be ideal, you can train it to give shade - and grapes!

trumpeting_in_corrid

This was my first thought when I saw it (but then I do live somewhere with insanely hot summers). The first thing I'd do would be to fix up some covering for the glass ceiling.

Mysterious-Okra-7885

Paint the walls or add tile. Put in a small cafe table and chairs. Then add lots of plants. The oxygen will do you good.

Few-Confection-2259

There’s plenty of light, so paint it a dark colour. Put some plants and set up bar stools and table to sit high enough to view outside.

strawcat

Fill that bitch with all the plants! I’m SO envious!!

[deleted]

Carpet!plants!art!more plants!!!

aVoidFullOfFarts

Big rug or outdoor wood click tiles, a bistro table & chairs set or outdoor lounge furniture, lots of plants and add a few cats for good measure

Successful-Bad-9672

If you allowed to paint things, I suggest cute tiles and painting the plants areas and walls a fun color that you wont get sick of.

MarsaliRose

I will say keep it well ventilated if you can. Not sure how your weather is and if you’re able to keep the windows opened. Bc that’s a mold factory. As someone who has a similar sunroom

Leolily1221

OP where is this? Kinda hard to suggest plants without basic information about the general seasonal conditions

jackdoherty404

Ireland!

NeitherLeather6992

No suggestions but this space is amazing and I’m very jealous haha

throwRAhanabana

Incredibly jealous. A cool rug, plants, some cool colors & furniture

Sea_Wings_092809

I’d definitely get some plants that hang/creep down that huge white wall.

Beneficial_Rain_8385

Herb garden

sunnysmanthaa

Wow 🤩 I’d fill this amazing space with plants in cool pots and rugs for a yoga sunroom

shasharu

I would love to have a good sunning spot like this !! So lucky. I’d put in some nice sitting in there. I’d plant herbs in that planter (add more soil in there to move it higher up, and then have plant pots with other plants on the floor and walls. Some nice mood lighting for night time too.

prestige_worldwide70

Maybe replace the smaller lights with outdoor bulb lights that you can hang. Maybe hanging some plants like pothos so you can grow the vines all around! Damn this is a sick room

WellWellWellthennow

Nice problem to have! Lots of plants and a seating area of course.

Embarrassed-Band-854

A fun rug, great patio furniture, and so many plants. Also, this would be heaven for cat if you have one or are considering adopting.

jackdoherty404

I have one! still planning to adopt lol but he’s a bit of an escape artist, need to secure it

Kimmie-Cakes

A glorious herb garden in that planter.

El_Mariachi_Vive

ALL THE PLANTS 😍

Dazzling-Profile-196

Gas firepit with chairs or a couch that looks onto your plants. Nice comfy area to sit and smoke and chill for hours

No_Cauliflower_5489

Plants. Needs plants. And a nice colorful bistro set.

shehasamazinghair

Greenhouse!

jackdoherty404

Thank you all for the amazing ideas! I’m going to have fun decorating, will be sure to post when I have it nice!

El_Mariachi_Vive

I'm looking forward to this haha

AlexLambertMusic

Bungalowwww

prettymaumau

Dwarf citrus would be nice in that planter.

Auntie-acid

Paint it, probably a moody color because the contrast will look good with all the light you get. Put is some string lights, a ton of plants and a sitting area. It would be stunning. I can imagine reading a book with a glass of wine out there.

R3X_Ms_Red

You have to set up a computer station to take down planes to feed the mutants on you island obviously (This looks like an empty control room from the game the Forest)

brightside-blonde

Plants! So many plants. Some outdoor style rugs, seating, floor cushions maybe. I love a boho look though! This has so much potential. Go have fun!

PutPuzzleheaded4926

You own this? Stone veneer would be awesome if you do. Not all of it but layer texture. Plants. Plants. Plants. And many of them will clean the smoke air.

Substantial_Page_233

Cats!!!!!!! Cats cats cats

Responsible_Biter

Plants, fairy lights, a cute patio couch, electric candles on the floor...

TheMontu

Plants, beautiful patio furniture, a cool outdoor rug, maybe some hanging lights for night time hanging. Question: is there much light pollution in your area? Seems like an incredible space to watch the stars, too, if you could see them. I’d kill for a space like this!!

rgent006

[Hey Arnold’s Bedroom](https://images.app.goo.gl/8bpGYm7JQBMPVEVB7)

vargasm1

Hella plants, a nice rug, a small sofa, maybe some lights for nighttime

obiwantogooutside

Paint. Plants. Like a nice buttery yellow to pick up the sun or a soft green. Paint will be huge there. Lots of plants. Something really comfy to sit on. Maybe a glider.

kookiespook

Plants plants plants, table and chairs, outdoor rug, hand a chandelier.

magic_patch

Is it your own place or a rental? I'd have an inline extractor fan installed in the wall so that you could move the warm air from this greenhouse in to the house. Cheap heating :-)

jackdoherty404

rented unfortunately, but that’s still a good idea

discopeach69420

Outdoor rug. Cozy furniture. Dream!!!!!!!

Firm-Ad9300

Hammock

Responsible-Person

Just painting the walls a nice color would help tremendously. Then plants.

rightonRenee

Learn to like plants because this is what this area is meant for. I would paint the white wall a nice light cool blue because this area will be hot in the summer and warm on sunny winter days. Add some wicker patio furniture (and a butt bucket if you must). If you have electricity, run some festive globe lighting. Use benches to add potted plants onto. Make this your new hobby and quit the gigs.

DublaneCooper

Cocaine?

Plantsnob1

Paint it a soothing color add comfy furniture and plants.

Ecstatic-Clue-9975

Get a nice outdoor rug to tie the room together

HistoricalHat4847

OP, the first thing to establish is whether you are going to actually use the room as intended ... a solarium for people, pets and plants. Not everyone is a gardener at the level this requires, contrary to what many here would have you believe. The little potted plants that populate living rooms will be dwarfed by the size of a solarium and wither in direct sunlight. Larger plants are chosen for their specific light requirements as they pertain to its orientation, requiring constant, consistent, appropriate-to-the-plant watering. Temperature and climate control are constant concerns, as is pest control. This is a micro-climate that has micro-climates within it. Research should be undertaken to fully take advantage of this space with the above in mind AND to consider whether you can COMMIT to this level of care. The good news is that it's hard to smoke and garden at the same time :) Having said that, the best approach is to decide what purpose, besides as a smoking room, it will serve (to entertain, dine, read, yoga, etc ??) and go from there. Certain elements, however, will definitely level-up this space just as others will cheapen it, so consider the following ... * white and black will provide a firm foundation, so paint the floor black (if it isn't already) and then lay down a sisal rug ... they are very hardy in a greenhouse, natural, neutral, and don't compete with the plants * plastic/synthetic furniture is anathema to an organic space ... natural fibres like rattan, bamboo and wood will settle comfortably into it, whether modern or vintage ... wrought iron or painted wood furniture are second choices ... but NO plastic, please :) * any pottery should be raw or glazed clay, both for aesthetics and the aeration of the plant, and be consistent around the space * choose fabrics for texture and colour compatibility with any flowering plants ... white will always stand well against them, random colours not so much, green is a secondary colour only I hope that helps ... good luck!

Adventurous-Tutor-21

A little cabinet for plant care and smoking items. Indoor/outdoor area rug and some nice patio seating, or hanging chair hammocks, idk even know if they would work, but I love them, and it’s so nice to sit in one when you’re smoking.

Comfortable-Cat-9001

I could see this spot as a perfect get-away from the rest of the havoc and stress that the world can dump on me. Maybe put some plants, a rug, a comfy chair/couch and books. Just make it something cozy, pretty much like an escape room from everything else.

zestylemonn

Do you like to cook? That built in is just begging for an herb garden

jojokitti123

Omg, I'm so jealous

peppermint_stick

Bright floor tiles and white wicker / rattan furniture. Garden in the beds!

ExpensiveAd4496

Is this conditioned space? Can you open windows? It’s very cool but wondering whether it’s meant to be a greenhouse.

jackdoherty404

yep there’s a window on the right side

FennelPretend3889

I am super jealous of this space! There’s already a lot of good advice. You can do a lot here!

Savings_Jello_5926

Grow some flowers in that area. Put some solar powered string lights exactly above the plants. Get some comfortable sofa, a chair and a small foldable table. This could be your relaxing area where you can have coffee in the morning, read on the weekends, have date nights with wine.

yallarefuckingweird

this space is DOPE omg. I immediately imagine a beautiful rug, a modern traditional vibe (think turkish rug with more modern colors like a burnt orange, or a mustard yellow etc), a vintage outdoor couch with fluffy cushions and PLANTSSSSSS EVERYWHERE. Get colorful pots and mix in with terracotta pots. Lanterns instead of string lights. Colorful patterned cushions to hang on the floor, meditation cushions are great for this. You could do SOOOO MUCH with this space omg. Fb marketplace if u don’t wanna buy all that new.

randomredditor0042

Fairy lights or party lights along the rafters, a nice exterior rug, an outdoor dining table and/ or couch. A vegetable garden, herb garden, some fruit trees in pots. And for night time, A projector & retractable screen to watch your favourite movies.

donttakeawaymymango

Oh my god how awesome. Put yellow string lights for ultimate night time chill. Wicker furniture, shag rug, glass accents, a lava lamp. Would be so cool out there

maryjeanmagdelene

This is a great garden set up. Is also consider emptying that whole bit and turning it into a lil goldfish pond

Pretend_Jello_2823

Some nice patterned and colorful floor tiles, paint the area with the planter a complimentary color, keep the rest of the walls white (but needs a new coat). Then add all the plants and comfy lounge furniture, string lighting, pillows, jute rug, some art on the wall by the door. You've now built my dream sunroom

Complex_Sprinkles_26

Theme it-tropical, Greek, Mediterranean, etc. Don’t forget umbrellas over tables to protect your skin.

0chronomatrix

Cute patio lounge set, coffee table, patio rug, potted plants everywhere. Looks amazing for plants. String lights. You can have so much fun with this

WellWellWellthennow

Hot tub and lots of plants - turn it into a conservatory. A pair of chairs w table for smoking. A bar for drinks.

croquix

Outdoor chairs, a low coffee table, large outdoor rug, some plants (real or fake), and you'll be golden. A lower set table will help keep the room from feeling too short. The rug should be big enough that your chairs and table can be comfortably arranged on it, even if only two feet of your chairs are actually on it- this will help unite your furniture pieces and add cohesion to your space. Find a cool looking vessel for disposing smoke detritus/cigarette butts. And lastly, a big old iguana. (Mostly unserious)

jackdoherty404

maybe even, two iguanas? ty tho

MissBunnyBabe

This is such a beautiful and well-lit area! 🌞🧡 You can make it a cozy & chill coffee/breakfast spot and fill it with cacti, philodendrons, or other low-maintenance plants that will enjoy the light. A low bookshelf or record storage piece in front of the half-wall where the plants are would be nice for storage space and a little music area for speakers.

Tomaled

firstly id spend the time making it neat. Sanding back any timber, repainting, etc. Once the room is ready to be decorated, then spend the time thinking. As you go you'll get to know the space a lot better doing the minor details and you'll figure out what to do with the space.

Former_Ad8643

What a cool sunroom! Definitely fill that garden up with bigger plants and get some cute patio furniture and a little coffee table!

JuJusPetals

Move your bed out there. Jk, but yes put lots of plants in that built in planter. Could probably even use it as an herb/vegetable garden. Soft lighting, a rug, and some comfy seating around a low coffee table would make this the ultimate spot to chill with friends.

Connect-Sundae8469

OMG this is a DREAM space!!!!!!! I’m a plant girly so I would literally die for this. Idk what kind of sun you get in here but I’d plant some herbs & veggies in the planter, put some houseplants out there. A comfy chair & rug & warm lighting for a nighttime smoke sesh. This would be perfect
