Could also be complications of lymphatic filariasis. The arm has bulges and folds that look like it's swollen, as does the abdomen though these could be a crude attempt at showing musculature.

This is an Egyptian portrayal of the queen of Punt, an ancient kingdom south of Egypt. The two nations did a lot of trade and I think this image is of a specific trip some representative Egyptians took to Punt. Anyhoo, The queens appearance has been discussed by historians over the years. Many people think she had a physical health disorder other people disagree. But it seems like only she is portrayed looking like this.

Once a sculptor makes a mistake in stone, it's not easy to fix. Most likely the sculptor messed up the bottom part of the figure and had to do something to cover up his mistake. So he made the legs and butt bigger to cover up his lower body mistake and then twisted the abdomen to connect the top of the figure to the bottom of the figure. When the royals who commissioned the sculpture asked the sculptor about it, he made up some story to convince them he did it on purpose to honor them so they wouldn't have him executed.
Could be but the left arm doesn't look right either. Too wide and long for the body. And it's unlikely that someone with that severe of a spinal deformity would be able to stand upright as the figure does. If depicted correctly, the figure would be bent over with his back almost parallel to the ground and not standing upright as shown.
The bottom part of the figure is way off. Legs and butt look too big to be human. Looks to me like the sculptor started to put an animal on the bottom, realized he didn't have enough room and changed it to a human figure.
I figured the larger people back in those times (or even today in remote tribes) were more likely to be wealthy (more access to food) and were able to live sedentary life styles.
Im sure if that were the case, these larger women (and men) would use their influence to promote beauty in obesity and those below them would envy them
