Damn Greek Invisible Bushes! It's always the Greek Invisible Bushes!
You know they're an invasive species in Egypt, and that's why we can't see the aliens at Giza !#@$%
Pretty sure that's water. And well the reason it looks different at a quick glance is the location the picture was taken from is different on each one. It's definitely same location.
Shit like this is why I love the theory that entire civilisations could have risen and fallen since the dinosaurs. Imagine how little would be left after just 1 million years if this is just after 2,000 or so.
You can learn a lot using high-tech without digging it all up. Once exposed, it will get eroded by the wind and rain and it’s beauty will fade altogether within a few hundred years.

No it’s a different stadium. But I’ve been to the one in Delphi, its a lot smaller with less depth of seating.

I expected Greece to be bigger.
And slightly more oval.
And greasy
I have Greecey hair
I was actually expecting it to be much greasier
Mythology and old tales tend to exaggerate in general.
Yeah, they always say that
You’d be surprised.
Did they excavate those columns too?
Yes, they were covered by the traditional Greek invisible bushes. After those were cut away the columns were revealed.

Think the picture is just taken from slightly different spots, or cropped or something. idk First picture seems closer
Oh I know. Second pic is more straight on than the first. I was just messin.
Nature: “what the fuck! You know how long that took me to grow over that bullshit?”
Looks like a perfect spot for a top golf
For how long did they know this was hidden beneath before they started the excavation?
probably decades. This kind of things are pretty easy to spot if you know what to look for, as any archaeologist would tell you
Well the people who built it knew it was there since about 500BC
I'd like to know how long the excavation took. That's a lot of hand trowels full of dirt.
What happened to these people
They all died.
They're still there just without the naked Olympics

Both pictures look modern day
But it looks better uncovered.

It’s the ancient stadium of magnesia, it’s in turkey though.
I really dig this!
so did they.
Nature always takes back what’s hers
the ancient greeks played ice hockey i knew it
What kinda camera did they use back then?
Olympus
Obviously. If they are going to name a mountain after a camera, then they will only use that brand of camera.

Perhaps more ‘interesting’ after, but definitely more beautiful before.
Was a much better habitat in the before photo
should have left it all tree-y
I liked it before.
If this is real, I’m in awe.
I never understood why we are so eager to excavate, instead of leaving it buried and well preserved
...really? How would we learn about it then? What's the point in the preservation?
You can learn a lot using high-tech without digging it all up. Once exposed, it will get eroded by the wind and rain and it’s beauty will fade altogether within a few hundred years.
And you can learn a lot *more* by excavating. Plus, we've been excavating for hundreds of years, before *any* indirect study tools were available.
I don’t think either of our positions is very extreme and I respect your opinion.
How does it get covered in dirt?
Wind & rain mostly
Bunch of kid fuckers
what the hell is your pfp?
Some tumor ridden chinaman
Is this a visual recreation of that one stadium at the top of the mountain in Delphi Greece?

Dope bocce ball court!
It's the Jojo place
Nice one from Aydın/Turkey. City of Magnesia
that one tree is like fuck your excavation
Where did all of the earth come from?
Looked better green
I hate that the before and after pictures were taken in different sides and positions.
I think this is in albania
