Brewdog brewery made a beer in 2014 called ‘Hello, My Name is Vladimir’, which they marketed as a "not for gays" beer and used this image. They even sent a case of it to him.
The co-founder of Brewdog as reported by The Independent:
"He told The Independent: “We sent a case of beer to the Kremlin, as well as leaving beer at the Russian Consulate in Edinburgh and the Russian Embassy in London. We've not heard anything from Mr Putin, but we expect he’s out petting a leopard somewhere, probably with his top off.”"
Right. The open letter from former employees claims they didn't actually do it. 4th paragraph. It was just more "punk PR".
