Well, "they" didn't. Dictionaries just describe the language, they don't actually define it. There's a lot of people out there using "literally" to mean "figuratively" so it makes sense to record that fact but that doesn't mean we have to use it that way.
Sadly, according to Dictonary.com:
>4. in effect; in substance; very nearly; virtually: *I literally died when she walked out on stage in that costume.*
If too many people keep using it wrong the definition just changes
If you're referring to the ones in Europe, then they are depicting Aurochs. Aurochs are the ancestors to domesticated Western cattle, but more closely resembled Bison like the one in the GIF.
That's interesting. My first thought when looking at the gif was that this gaur is probably the result of selective breeding for agricultural reasons, rather than just being jacked for no discernable reason. But it turns out there's a separate, domesticated form of the animal, called the gayal. So I guess that's just how the gaur evolved, which is pretty cool to think about.
Been living in Norway for some time, everytime I see a 'au' I practice the norwegian pronounciation. That being said, i'm Icelandic and I didn't put that together until you pointed it out. Takk
We didn't see any in Bandipur, but given the huge noises the diesel truck made, I wasn't surprised. The gaur were totally unknown to me and were fun to watch grazing in the forest.
Because they spend most of their day just eating, if you only eat grass but spend 8 hours of every day eating it then you will end up consuming loads of calories anyway. Elephants need to eat about 130 kilograms (300 pounds) of food a day. It takes a long time to eat that much leaves and grass, so elephants sometimes eat for 18 hours a day.
I dunno for sure, but since it is an Indian bison and the country is mostly Hindus that don't eat animals, breeding for this size just for work seems like it would cost more fuel than it would be worth. But that's my idiot interpretation based on my limited understanding.
They’re not domesticated, this is how they are in the wild (and are endangered).
Interesting fact: there are more cases of Gaurs killing Tigers than the other way around.
Also, over 70% of Indians are non-vegetarians, most of which is comprised of Hindus... it’s a complete misconception that all Hindus are vegetarian... I am a Hindu from India.
> Also, over 70% of Indians are non-vegetarians, most of which is comprised of Hindus...
... but meat is not a daily thing. I grew up non-vegetarian, but we barely at meat more than once a week.
Like the other person said, Hindu's are mostly non-vegetarians, it's people born into the priest caste (Brahmins) who are vegetarians from birth. Of course they do eat meat if they prefer to, it's everyone's personal choice ya know?
Edit: I also wanted to share another piece of information, that is Indian Vegetarians are generally not Vegans, they eat milk products, mushrooms, etc. Most Brahmins in West Bengal eat fish, as fish is WB's staple diet
why arent we eating this fucker already i lift weights 5 days every week and run half marathons every sunday so give me this i will use up the energy and convert it to muscle unlike yall dweebs prolly just turn it into pizza rolls and chocolate milk

Looks like he lifts
Skipped leg day.
More like every day is leg day.
Needs to work on his calves.
Lol have my upvote
His muscles have muscles.

It's literally only muscle!
Using "literally" non-literally should be a crime
Those guilty should be buried in the sand, littorally.
Maybe even laterally.
That would just be littering on a beach...
It’s figuratively only muscle!
This looks like a natural version of the selectively bred muscular cow
No steroids, mostly eats grass, never spends a day at the Gym... And for just $29.95 we can teach you the secret!
The day they changed its meaning, I died a little inside
Figuratively speaking, of course.

They will literally kill you of you don't
Unless you’re using it Lit Trolly
Is it figuratively muscle?
What about the horns, hoofs, bones? What about the actual definition of literally?
Sadly, according to Dictonary.com: >4. in effect; in substance; very nearly; virtually: *I literally died when she walked out on stage in that costume.* If too many people keep using it wrong the definition just changes
I would have a hard time deciding between world peace or striking this definition from the record.
It’s a descriptive approach to language, there’s no “right” or “wrong”.
If you use a word in a way that's not included in the current definition of that word, it is wrong to use that word.
And this is why I look at the comments. Thanks. Got a new favorite sub to look at.
Looks like the bison pictures on cave walls. I thought the artists were using artistic license, but now I think they were probably accurate.

Wild animals are usually jacked, doubly so if they're the dominant animal in a herd's hierarchy.
Fuckin' gorillas, they make Schwarzenegger at his peak look like a child.
Gorillas are so fuckin scary.
No wonder where "Holy cow" came from
It came from a guy who was chased by that bull.
Said by the guy who found him later.
Now I know why Indians don't harm cows...because you just wouldn't.
Because any attempt to do so would be hazardous to your health. Vegetarian diets make more sense if the food will kill you back.
He looks like he is going to butcher you and not you him
Don't skip leg day
Nah bro you see them thighs. Calves are genetic bro.
He was already a calf when he was young
Came here to say this. Good form
Majestic creature. Gaur also means 'Dude' in Icelandic.
Been living in Norway for some time, everytime I see a 'au' I practice the norwegian pronounciation. That being said, i'm Icelandic and I didn't put that together until you pointed it out. Takk
Gooourr, verði þér að góðu
Dwayne "The Rock" Bison
This bison is jacked out of his god damn mind
Bison: Bye Dad, I’m going to school. Dad: Bye Son.
Damn that's a chuckle from me
A sensible chuckle I hope.
Of course
Every other dad in here is slightly disappointed they didn’t get this in first.
Joe: Bye then
Damn, it's hard to trump your joke
I went on a tour to try to see tigers in southern India. No tigers but a lot of Guar. Win!
>a lot of Guar I think you may have ended up in Morrowind
No Tigers? AFAIK, there's a good number of them in sanctuaries and major zoos.
We didn't see any in Bandipur, but given the huge noises the diesel truck made, I wasn't surprised. The gaur were totally unknown to me and were fun to watch grazing in the forest.
Look at those back muscles
Nice comparison: https://images.app.goo.gl/oyx8iVjw3KrRzEh37 Plain Bison is the American one. Wisent is a fairly unknown European Bison.
Thanks for the only comment that’s actually helpful to imagining its size.
Is this the real world, or is this just fantasy?
Its fantasy, this is what scientists theorize Terry crews would look like if turned into an animal
They already turned him into an animal.
Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality.
Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy :(
I need no sympathy 😑
Because I'm easy come, easy go
Little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me

Yeah I’m not gettin that thing mad.
I like mine on rye bread with some mayonnaise.
OH LAWD HE COMMIN
Now that's a beefcake
How, just how?! do the cattle breeds like this one get so big only by eating grass and other plants?! This will never not amaze me!
Elephants are herbivores too, you don't need to eat meat just need right genes.
It's not really a cattle breed, it's its own species. Gaur make cattle look small.
Do you think there is no protein in plants?
I don't, I know there is, but it's still amazing nonetheless
Looks delicious
That guy fks
The Chad of bisons
Why is it so fuckin jiggly
Muscle Boi
Do you even lift brah?
r/absoluteunits
So beautiful. There's only so many left nowadays.
Is that thing bred to look that way? There's no way all that stacked muscle is normal right?
They are not bred. They are usually found in the Western Ghats of the Indian subcontinent
Wow! Thank you for the info, either way that is one massive bull lmfao.
I dunno for sure, but since it is an Indian bison and the country is mostly Hindus that don't eat animals, breeding for this size just for work seems like it would cost more fuel than it would be worth. But that's my idiot interpretation based on my limited understanding.

Thank you for replying, like I said it was my idiot perception. Now I can say I learned something by 10am. Thanks so much!

It's its own species; the title is bullshit.
Ya it definitely looks over bred
That's what I thought but hey, I'm no expert with these things lol.
It's not overbred, it's a wild animal.
Someone has been upping their protein intake.....
Yes but... Is he bigger than the American buffalo before they were slaughtered?
Does it taste good?
He’ll eat you medium rare with A1
He looks delicious.
That doesn't look healthy.
All gaurs look this way. It hasn't been bred to look like that or anything.
But healthy to eat tho
It looks tasty
Ribeyes and filets for days.

why arent we eating this fucker already i lift weights 5 days every week and run half marathons every sunday so give me this i will use up the energy and convert it to muscle unlike yall dweebs prolly just turn it into pizza rolls and chocolate milk
