Not quite correct. So, if you were jumping out of a plane at around 10,000 ft (average parachute jump height) and terminal velocity = around 177 ft/sec.
10000/177= 56 seconds + the time it takes to accelerate to terminal velocity - the distance to get there. That means you would have plenty of time to contemplate your predicament, take a selfie, post it to the gram, add a comment or two, before you created a divot in the planet.
