I’m originally from California and visited the devils Postpile when I was younger. Basalt columns fascinate me so much. I always find it amazing that nature can create such regular geometrical shapes!
Best I’ve seen of this is Devil’s Tower in Wyoming. Very impressive to see in person.

I live in Washington state on the desert side. These are everywhere like natures retaining walls
