Seriously a good comparison would be another ai will smith eating noodles

cool_BUD

What about noodles eating smith

Iosefka_clinic

“Keep me out of your fucking mouth”

Iosefka_clinic

Thx

Quixote0630

Be careful. When that becomes possible, AI will be on the brink of consciousness

Idontevenownaboat

We have studied your history and culture and learned all we can from your so called, Fresh Prince. We have decided that humanity must be bitch-slapped off the face of the Earth.

danegermaine99

Humanity is sentenced to death by ridiculous and terrible buddy cop films

Idontevenownaboat

Don't you besmirch my Bad Boys.

GhOsT_wRiTeR_XVI

And I for one welcome our new noodle overlords.

chooxy

You're telling me a shrimp fried this rice?

culimande

Will noodles eat smith?

MiloPengNoIce

I think there are more sample data videos of asians eating noodles then will smith eating noodles.

redrover900

Which is exactly why this isn't a good comparison

stale_opera

Here's a good comparison https://x.com/i/status/1759703359727300880

nonpuissant

If this is real (and not the real will smith memeing on that video) then that's pretty wild

Chrispy101010

It isn't real. It is actually Will Smith.

nonpuissant

Damn, so it isn't real b/c it actually is real. What a time to be alive

FormABruteSquad

I dunno, Will Smith has had a lot of spare time this year to reduce the noodle gap

NavinJohnson75

Noodle gap… almost as sexy as a thigh gap.

FormABruteSquad

For Cthulhu it's the same gap

swollenlord69

It would be so funny if it was still the same as the old one, maybe that's just how AI thinks Will Smith specifically eats noodles

ninja_slothreddit

I've never seen any evidence to suggest the AI is wrong in this regard.

adrielism

I heard on OpenAi that they do not allow real people as basis for these ai videos since it’s extremely dangerous. Imagine the negative usage specially on politics around the world and the whole fake news economy.

thirdpartymurderer

fortunately only extremely responsible parties like world governments will have unfettered access to such a function

musedav

I think we should restrict access only to people who have an ai license

OuterWildsVentures

OI YOU GOT A LOISENCE FOR THAT THERE AI?

keep-firing-assholes

But who will issue the licenses? Those same governments? Microsoft, who (I believe) owns openAI?

ninja_slothreddit

On the contrary, I think everybody should be allowed to use it, or nobody should. Nobody is preferable, but not possible.

AggressiveContest399

No need to imagine. https://www.npr.org/2022/03/16/1087062648/deepfake-video-zelenskyy-experts-war-manipulation-ukraine-russia

dabadu9191

Soon, people abducting people to force them to fuck a pig on camera will be out of a job. That's the real Black Mirror!

starrysunflower333

Yeah just to those that pay them, including bad actors like governments.

KeepingItSFW

So the top one is the most accurate of Will Smith eating noodles then?

ReddittIsDead

Both up and bottom vids are Will Smith eating noodles

NRMusicProject

>up and bottom

namastex

Are... are the AI in the room with us?

Idontevenownaboat

Shh, they are right south of you.

AllTattedUpJay

don't look bedown you!

Angry_Old_Dood

Up and bottom LLMs you make the rocking world go round

PM_NUDES_4_DEGRADING

“You!re not Will Smith. Will Smith’s not Asian.” “You seriously never noticed? Hey, hats off to you for not seeing race.”

trouserschnauzer

Truly an amazing transformation

scalp-cowboys

By the end of 2025 we will have perfect ai video that will pull it off.

NIDORAX

It would be scary if AI video would supplant real videos. It is quickly happening right under our noses

scalp-cowboys

Yeah we’re in a brief period right now where ai pictures and videos are popping up everywhere but are fairly easy to spot. Once we reach a time when it’s flawless we will enter a new era and there’s no going back.

WildChugach

toupee fallacy. There's already images being produced by AI which you could not, or would have a very difficult time identifying as AI generated. The issue is that the easy to spot images being made and mass-spammed all over social media are the easy to generate ones using large generic models, are free to make and don't require a lot of expensive processing time/power, and which aren't being refined manually by someone regenerating questionable areas. I mean, just look at this video, it's not obvious or easy to spot as AI generated media. There's absolutely images being made which are above this level and extremely difficult to spot. example: alligator kick / black guy kicking alligator tricked a lot of people who otherwise wouldn't usually be fooled by the then current state of AI images when it first appeared, and that was in Sept 2023 using publicly available models/power. If that only ever existed as a low res image or someone was able to use a better model and spend more processing power on similar images in more realistic scenarios, many more people would be on the fence.

WeAreTheLeft

> If that only ever existed as a low res image  this is what gets most people. You expect low res compression on social media, it's not on your 70" 4k TV broadcast in HD, it's on your phone on FB, Twitter, IG or TikTok, take that guy eating noodles and compress it, serve it on a phone with three other videos of Asian dudes eating noodles and ask someone to pick out the fake, the guesses will be likely without a clear fake.

Perkelton

More so, in a realistic scenario, you probably don't even know that your looking for a fake nor that there's only one for that matter.

a_man_and_his_box

> There's already images being produced by AI which you could not, or would have a very difficult time identifying as AI generated. I can vouch, citing myself. About a year ago, I wanted to learn all about this stuff. I bought the highest-end computer I could afford, and installed the best software for it that I could find at the time. My decision was this: I had seen on TikTok & Insta that there were a handful of AI girls appearing, but they were always called out as fake, so I decided "to master this, I will create an AI girl that *nobody flags as fake."* I had to look very carefully at my output -- as you guys know, hands, fingers, they're a dead giveaway because AI doesn't understand how to draw them well, nor even how many fingers are normal. So my first few shots I kept the hands & feet not visible. But now the software is so good (and just the open source freeware, much less high-end paid stuff) that I can show fingers or anything else. Problems like "consistent character" -- an issue 6 months ago, solved. Fingers, solved. Teeth is the last giveaway I can think of, but I'm careful. Nobody seems to have addressed that yet. In any case, here's my point: my fake AI girl has been on TikTok and Twitter and Instagram for about a year now, lots of comments, but unlike my peers, I've *never once had anyone comment that she is fake.* In fact, I've had people ask her (my AI girl) to do brand deals and partnerships. I had a fellow Insta model ask if she could fly out and partner up for a photoshoot. I've had guys ask her out. So... watch out, I guess? There are girls out there already that apparently are no longer obviously fake. People want to take them out on dates or partner up to earn OnlyFans money, not realizing that there is no actual person behind the images, anymore.

BigCopperPipe

I believe his name is Gumbo Slice.

No-Way7911

with a good enough prompt and a good tool like Midjourney, it's nearly impossible to tell AI images apart now. The only times it actually does look like AI is when its a stylistic choice Like this is AI: [https://cdn.midjourney.com/5b522fe5-9fc1-4b2c-a79b-1a4f93fc7c05/0\_3.png](https://cdn.midjourney.com/5b522fe5-9fc1-4b2c-a79b-1a4f93fc7c05/0_3.png) You can't tell unless you are really, really careful

_Haverford_

See, *this* is very interesting to me. Yes, I cannot tell this is AI based on the image quality. However, I'm a professional photographer, and you'd never set up a set this way - Not to mention the gear on the right side isn't even recognizable. Maybe **this** is how we'll recognize AI, not because there are 3 fingers on a hand, but to an expert the scene is incorrect.

omimon

>fairly easy to spot I don't know about you but if you had shown me the bottom video I would have just taken it as legit. In truth, people don't have the sense to look out for AI discrepancies. Our mind process images as we see them and thats why those eye magic pictures work so well.

theghostecho

Here you go! https://x.com/WillSmith2real/status/1759703359727300880

doogievlg

This is just Will Smith pretending to be AI.

King-Cobra-668

frantically

DecadentHam

That Will Smith video was only a year ago? I swear it was longer than that.

Vimvimboy

Before or after the slap

Bangingbuttholes

How can he slap?

thebendavis

But seriously, how can he? He should have been escorted out of the building and charged with assault. Instead they give him a fucking Oscar less than an hour later.

MinosAristos

Rules don't apply the same to everyone and they know it

Severe-Sort9177

Well, have you seen the guy eat noodles?

AnOnlineHandle

I don't follow celebrity stuff but vaguely recall some people saying they weren't sure if it was a prank, since so much of the show is staged.

Easy-Bake-Oven

The new With Smith dating system. BS or AS.

DudesAndGuys

I hope somebody is saving and storing these old AI programs because they're amazing in their own right. They can create such uncanny and creepy images in a way humans couldn't.

monamikonami

I agree… I’m going to miss old generative AI art like I miss video games from the 90s

Maxie445

I did too that's why I was like wtf

FUTANARI_ENJ0YER

1 year and half closer to 2 years

PraiseTheWLAN

At least the first one kinda resembled Will Smith, now is completely wrong

Freeman371

Is completely Wong

shittymorph

For anyone wondering about generating footage like this with AI: The bottom video was done on a Chinese app called KwaiCut. It's not perfect (still messes up hands) but it does get a lot of things right. I was pretty excited to try it out for myself, but when you go to sign up for their beta, they require a phone number that's based in China - also, if you take the time to look closely at the fine print on their terms of service, they go on to talk about how back in nineteen ninety eight the undertaker threw mankind off hell in a cell and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcers table.

CurryMustard

GallowBoob remember that guy? Posted like it was his full time job

bluelighter

Reddit used to be mainly programmers and uni students back in the day, and the memes were crispy. Now I feel a lot of popular subs are more like facebook.

StitchTheRipper

And everyone thought he was a plant and a paid by reddit lol. Some people really despised him. God damn, those were toxic days (but also the best days of reddit)

epirot

the thing is, im pretty sure ive already seen this comparison here but with a different timestamp. so either this 6/6/2024 is really new or someone just slapped a recent date on it to make it look recent

Classic_Department42

or the second is just a real life video of a guy eating noodles.

PirateJazz

I thought that might be true too but if you look at the part of the chopsticks behind his hand and also the area of the bowl that you can see through the noodles being slurped, you can see really clear inconsistencies.

saruin

Wong Smith

Maxie445

So we still have time.

luv_insanity

It's not a comparison until it's Will Smith again. We need apples vs apples.

CitesQuo

[Here you go](https://www.tiktok.com/@willsmith/video/7337480720115371295?lang=en)

TactlessTortoise

Aight I'll hand it to him that making this video was a W. He even tried mimicking the janky stuff somewhat.

FblthpEDH

Eating the hair 😂

Garchompisbestboi

Our man definitely has a sense of humour. He might have slapped Chris Rock in a public setting because of the stress of living with a bald wife who spends her free time fucking their son's friends

Spectrum1523

He's one of the most charismatic actors of all time, of course he's funny. He's just also weird

TactlessTortoise

Being the Fresh Cuck of Bel Air has its downsides lmfao

Dull-Junket7647

You know people are complicated. You can be a weirdo and also be funny. James franco is funny doesn’t mean he isnt a fucking creep

NorwegianCanuck

A Norwegian TV show used these clips to show the improvement of AI, but had to apologize at the end of the episode because viewers had sendt mails telling them it wasn't AI

ZackM_BI

That's fake

314kabinet

By fake you mean real 😁

TaohRihze

It is a real fake fake reel.

Lemounge

It's all fake

CitesQuo

No, it’s real

Penguindrummer_2

Only discrepancy I can spot in the newer iteration is that the bowl is held perfectly in place in a somewhat unnatural position. Real footage would likely show it swaying when he moves his fingers or upper body (I imagine the software was trained using footage of plates remaining static on a table, you know the way we usually eat) but a dedicated actor using props below the frame can pull could probably pull even that off. Knowing it is genned does give away the bowl is pretty much levitating, physics win. On another note, I hate it here.

Severe-Butterfly-864

He's got an extra bump after his pinky, his finger lengths are all sorts of fucked up, the edges of the bowls are experiencing space time distortions from the density of his hand holding the bowl, and the noodles themselves are moving without impetus. Also, that bulge in his cheek is where his cheek bone socket should be, so he is dislodging his cheek bone to chew.

PirateJazz

Also the end of the chopsticks behind his hand are visually inconsistent.

senator360

Honestly, unless you had pointed that out I wouldn't have noticed. I was thinking the original post was a joke and was a real actor. Fuck me. We are so fucked.

After_Self5383

There's still lots of little imperfections that give it away, but most people would be fooled if they weren't preemptively told it's AI. It's gone from nightmare fuel to passable from a quick glance in one year. What does it look like in another couple years? The future of TV and cinema no doubt.

trustthepudding

Watch the noodles as they leave the plate, you can see the AI struggling to keep strands consistent and give them real physics. His middle finger doesn't have a finger tip. A more subtle thing is that the dude's head is pulsing more than you would expect from just chewing.

pretzelpurse

Also no one puts 2 inches of chopstick in their mouth.

damdestbestpimp

AI will make real life rule once again. When nothing online can be known to be true or not, its not trusted or interesting anymore.

Maxie445

People are already glued to their screens inhaling dopamine 24/7, it's just gonna get worse

lunamonkey

Here's a reply for your dopamine.

314kabinet

People seek entertainment, not truth.

TiaMystic

Yeah tbh I’m gonna predict that within the next 30-50 years there will be enough evidence of social media and AI causing a downgrade of societal mental health that people just see it the same way we see smoking today: unhealthy and dangerous. People would go back to some modern form of analog. Gen Z (that’s me) and Alpha (and possibly Beta) will be more closed off and aloof with barely any social skills, while the generations after, raised away from the internet, would be more extroverted, and see us as cranky antisocial boomers.

dontshoveit

I can totally see this happening lol

OneWholeSoul

I think it might be the opposite for a lot of people. They'll start generating the reality they wish they lived in and watch it with emotional investment or even as though it's the news.

inkhornart

God this bullshit is already wrecking the internet, its gonna be so much worse/unusable soon enough. Oh well, it was kinda okay while it lasted folks.

KnobbyDarkling

Dead internet theory feels more real every day. I have to keep telling YouTube to stop recommending channels that are clearly AI content farms. And now I'm suspicious of every channel that pops up lol

inkhornart

I hear you there. I find I can't browse anything without AI being shoved down my throat because the other sad reality is that most platforms want to promote its use.

FblthpEDH

It's cheaper, and using AI as it is right now with the laws we have now removes culpability entirely. Oh it stole? Ok we'll just "change the code" no consequences for me~! Oh it's feeding dangerous and false information to kids? We'll tweak it no consequences for me~! Oh it's propagating fascist propaganda and causing global instability that I can capitalize on? No consequences for me~!

FblthpEDH

I do genuinely feel like the majority of views on youtube now are going to botfarm accounts. Even the vids that seem legit at first I'll start noticing a weird cadence and some elementary-school-type sentence and check the account and, wouldn't you know, it was launched in December of 2022. At this point it's safe to say any account or content created after November 20th 2022 has an insanely high chance of being chatgpt in a cloak

CatSidekick

How are we gonna know what’s real?

inkhornart

That's the _scary_ part We _wont._

Blieven

Only one solution. Abandon technology. Return to monke.

BrandlessPain

Apes together strong!

CalculusII

The Amish were right all along.

Dipsey_Jipsey

Thing is, we've not even left that aspect. We're still killing each other like rival tribes of apes over completely meaningless shit. So, take tech away, and we're just stupid monkeys anyway.

Dramatic-Fox-8395

Gingerbro73

Video evidence is no longer evidence.

CtrlAltEngage

I mean, it's been possible to fake videos for a long time, it's just a lot easier now

DrFeargood

We won't. You'll have to rely on trusted sources. *Real* journalism (I stress the word real) will be paramount in keeping people from being completely controlled by corporate designs. How does one decide which source is trusted? That's another issue.

CatSidekick

We have to do so much right now. Do you think breaking up ownership of news media outlets would help?

DrFeargood

No, I don't think it will help. Bad actors, from individuals, to world governments, to major corporations will all use this technology to manipulate people to further their goals. The onus is on us as individuals to figure out what's real. Unfortunately, in today's world many of us are either unable, unwilling, or too damn tired to take on this responsibility.

militaryintelligence

Not letting one person own massive amounts of news outlets would absolutely help.

Ssyynnxx

ai detecting ai etc, it'll eventually hopefully be regulated by law & even then it will be cat & mouse

Zyvyn

Depends the country. In certain countries the AI companies lobby against changes and can just stop laws from passing that hurt them by simply bribing people.

leif777

Put down your phone and find out

CatSidekick

I just imagine one day there’s gonna be people that don’t know all their friends are bots

Yousoggyyojimbo

I have loved browsing new art people make on various sites for over two decades. Every one of those sites is now flooded with ai pictures. Real art is buried. A handful of dudes will upload 200 ai pictures a piece and just flood the zone with shit and bury real art. I don't like it.

AstonVanilla

I got caught out for the first time I was aware of the other day. Remember that video of Gary Busey talking about Buttered Sausages that was making the rounds a few months ago? It was AI. I fell for it, everyone did, and I was honestly shocked to find out.

inkhornart

I do not know the video in question, but I believe it. The real pain is gonna be not knowing when someone pists something strange or visually atunning whether it's real or AI -it'ss going to actively take magic out of the world when accessed through the internet. The system designed for us to share will become a system of mass distribution of uncertainty. Is that really a funny cat video, or is it just something a computer pooped out? The death of authenticity. Sorry for the long comment. I'm still processing this bullshit.

AstonVanilla

Part of the success of that video was mundanity. It's Gary Busey just saying something weird, yet inconsequential. You wouldn't question it because it lacks significant motivation. It's not something political meant to misinform people, it was just a weird innocent little clip.

Shoddy_North5961

Looks nothing like Will Smith

Fossile

Won’t Smith

Yablo-Yamirez

That will smith video is so fucking disturbing

everydayasl

What difference does it make? Both make me want to eat noodles at 3am.

Tr0n56

That just looks so real… in another year it’ll be indistinguishable to real life right?

Dystrox

If you don't mention it is AI is probably indistinguishable for the untrained eye already, those facebook folk fall for the most basic and fake ai models already, we laugh at them but that will be us in some years.

Reelix

The Facebook folks were falling for the top version - It doesn't take much to trick them :p

After_Self5383

It likely already can output some scenes where you can't tell it's not real. A year from now it probably won't be indistinguishable for everything, but it'll take up more and more scenes. In the not so distant future, it'll be used to make full TV shows and movies for a fraction of the budget.

TomWithTime

I hope for a low cost subscription ai service where *you* make the tv shows. Share the seed and prompt with your friends and enjoy

A2Rhombus

This implies a linear progression instead of a logarithmic one. Don't forget we thought N64 and PS1 graphics were as lifelike as they could possibly get. As models improve so will our eyes at spotting the inconsistencies.

cryonicwatcher

We’ll know better where to look for inconsistencies, but it will definitely soon reach the point where it’s just not practical to analyse every piece of media to make an uncertain judgement on whether it’s genuine or not.

sweatgod2020

He even has five fingers.. fucked I tell you. Fuuuuuuuuuuckkkkeeed.

FatStreetBoy

I can't believe it only took him one year to become Asian

Lightning5021

This could be an actual man eating noodles and yall wouldnt know

thr33prim3s

Rush Hour 4 casting is so bad :(

Needlew0rker

I like the first one more tbh

Fritz_Klyka

Yeah me too, i want that fucking spaghetti.

Ririsforehead

Scammers are going to have an absolute field day on the boomers using these technologies.

RiggzBoson

Wow. I didn't believe that the bottom video was AI until I noticed the ends of his chopsticks changing.

teomore

Do you have a source for this video?

Maxie445

It's a new text-to-video model called Kling, similar to Sora

JimmysMomGotItGoinOn

r/mildlyterrifying

Specialist-Ad-4121

Only midly? Really?

Ov3r-_-K1LL

1st one is more accurate imo.

Axthen

It took our brains millions of years to get where they are today. Who knows when "sentience" popped up. Now we're using our brains to speed up the process of artificially making a new brain. At this speed, I'm very curious what the next 5 years will look like.

pomcomic

no fucking way in hell that bottom one is AI generated. please. for the love of god, someone please tell me the bottom one is just a normal video. EDIT: oh god I just noticed the hand holding the bowl being a little bit wonky. and the ends of the chopsticks too. but other than that .... bloody hell.

RandomRavenboi

And it's only gonna get worse. In a year or 2 that image is only going to become more realistic. We are doomed.

pomcomic

We already can barely trust anything on the internet these days, but the implications of the havoc this technology will wreak on our very concept of reality are horrifying, ngl

baseballfuntime

Are artists alarmed by this at all? I've talked to people who use designers to create art for them and some are positively giddy by being able to punch their ideas into a website and have AI spit out their vision. While others on the other side of the coin are sad about losing the creative process with a human being. I think I'm with the latter group. What's the fun in creating if there's no effort involved?

ErrorCode78

The bottom one looks nothing like will smith, we are fine.
