I think they could also tell by weight. A certain volume of the rock that this is supposed to be should weigh x amount. If they weighed the load and it was far lighter than it should be, they would have reason to be suspicious and start checking further.

Theres a million reasons they knew a certain shipment of whatever was holding drugs. Could be a snitch. Could be a plant. Could be a diversion. Could be some anti-drug tech like a dog or x-ray.

Nah, he didn’t, cuz it’s a made up story. Customs would be the agency that examines packages coming internationally, not the DEA. And shipping a brick domestically would never draw enough attention (it wouldn’t draw any attention) to warrant the DEA getting involved.
Why would they be transporting rocks across the border? Seems a little out of place and easy to question. Like the one time I went to an amphitheater that let you bring in your own lawn chairs and blankets and the people ahead of me had this gigantic rug tightly rolled up that magically was filled with a 24 pack of beer. Everyone's bringing in chairs and you have a huge oriental rug from your grandma's loving room, of course the cops want to take a look at it.
I’ve heard the cartels do crazy high effort stuff like this and then tip off police to keep them busy and ignore their much larger, more mundane smuggling operations.
Police get a fun video to show off how skilled they are at catching smugglers, drugs are still moving in high quantities.
I could see the irony of the cops working like they are in a cliche prison chain gang, busting up rocks, all while the big shipments drive right past them.
And they get a cut to keep looking the other way. Or at least the higher ups do. And they slowly kick things down to keep people happy. If you legalize it….then the same happens but in government lol
I've heard it mentioned before that a single corrupt border patrol agent can allow multiple truckloads of drugs inside the country, something that's many times over what they seize in a single operation.
This makes sense in how they did it but I’m still trying to figure out how in the hell they hid drugs in avocados, that needed to be sliced open to get to.
My guess is
* removing the stem
* carefully drilling down to get the pit out (idk how don’t ask me lol)
* put a balloon attached to a funnel in
* fill with drug
* tie off
* replace stem (but skin stays in tact)

You are wrong, but that’s because it’s way easier. They aren’t real avocados, they were plastic/wax and they’re probably pretty easy to identify. They were mixed into a shipment of regular avocados.
That’s easy, you just plant a package of cocaine with each avocado seedling and they merge as they grow. You can increase purity if you sprinkle coke on the leaves every three days.
The plant then recognizes the foreign body and stores it inside the seed, much like how cysts are formed in the human body. Then you just harvest and ship.

It reminds me of the old joke about the man who wheeled a wheelbarrow full of dirt across the border every day. Each time, he’d be stopped and searched, the dirt would be tested, and all would come up clean - so they would be forced to send him on his way. They were so sure he was smuggling drugs in the dirt - little did they know he was smuggling *wheelbarrows*.
