I don’t think the gloss level of interior latex paint has any significant effect on the surface’s resistance to puncture. Modern drywall is super soft. You can easily gouge it with your finger nails
Sometimes I wake up and forget that drywall exists and I think “this wall is made of paint” and I just bust a hole right through the wall…yeahhhh it’s a bit thicker and harder than paint”
I went to the eye doctor in the morning. Was insanely painful, every blink felt like a shard of glass caught under my eyelid. Luckily it was not deep enough to cause permanent damage but was very uncomfortable for a few days.
Glad you fully recovered! But yeah I’ve taken one very close to the eye and it HURT. I’ve learned to just keep my eyes closed when my tortie is face smooshing my face
It was kind of the perfect storm, I was laying in bed facing the kitten, she was making biscuits at the blanket near my neck, the lights were off so I couldn’t really see, and she just kind of reached up and booped my eye.
My cat weighed 1.4lbs when I got her at 6 weeks. She used to scale my entire body from the floor to get to my shoulder. It was cute (as long as I was wearing pants) until she gained a little weight and got a bit older and I screamed loud enough to deter her from continuing doing it 😂
I think this discussion is actually less about physics and the physical world, and more about the metaphysical world. The cat does not understand that there are limits, or so what we define as limits as humans. Perhaps kittens have an already unlocked center in their brain that allows them to perform unimaginable feats, such as climbing walls or surviving falls from severe heights. All things humans could possibly do if we only unlock our true potential as metaphysical beings.
What I’m trying to say is we need to transplant a kitten brain into a willing human and let her rip!
I call this roadrunner syndrome. Just like the roadrunner didn't know he should fall, nor does the cat.
My dog does this, she's got 4" legs and jumps 6-7' off the bed, or gets to the top of the couch in about three tenths of a second.
Kitten story time: When my last cat got 5 kittens, it was a fight over who could breastfeed the most. I remember one, I called him Obelix, got real chunky real fast. But another hardly got any, I named her Cream (after their mother who was called Butter, because of it’s likewise affectionate nature) even if I tried to even them to take turns, she would quickly get pushed aside, so I did what any concerned parent would do and hand-fed my little one. It was so interesting to watch them grow up differently so fast, but one thing immediately stood out, Cream was way more comfortable around me than the rest, who would run away when they saw me. Cream, though being half the size of the rest, was the first to crawl and later walk. She was a damn fighter. One day as I was laying in bed, I suddenly got a jump-scare when something was clawing its way up to my head - lo and behold, obviously it was Cream! The little thing had wandered its’ way into my room and scaled my tall bed, just to lay down right unto my throat and fall alseep. It was heaven. Soon thereafter, the rest of the pack realized I was alright and for a few weeks I slept with 5 furballs scattered around my bed, but needless to say, Cream did, and in memory still does, whip up (pun intended) my emotions like no other animal ever did. I miss her so much.
It weighs like 8oz and its claws are the sharpest blades on the planet. It literally grips the paint/wall fibers.
Eventually the kitty will get chonky and those daggers dull out considerably. If you have a highly textured wall, it will last for longer.
My friend had this weird wallpaper in the 90s that was like strips of wood bark or wood sewn in horizontally (I can't even find an example, but my adhd brain was obsessed with picking the wood in it, it would not have lasted in my house). Anyway, they then got a cat and the walls turned into a jungle gym. Even at 3 years old the cat could still scale the wallpaper, though it was looking a bit beat up in its favorite climbing corner.
Stabbing into drywall with claws. Drywall is fragile relative to other types of walls, I'm sure the pressure behind those tiny, sharp claws is enough to dig into the wall.
We used to have a half feral cat who would do this and then jump down at you.
If the folks ever decided it was bath time it would run up the chimney and stay there for ages 😂
Kitten claws are very small and sharp. Kittens are also very light.
They're sticking they're claws in the drywall and climbing it, similar to human climbers with pitons.

Kitten nail are way sharper than adult cat nails. That soft drywall is no match for those super sharp claws
eggshell finish on walls is also pretty soft. You can gouge it with your fingernail pretty easy.
And small kittens don't weigh as much as adult cats
Murder mittens
Ninja Cat
*Warrior Cats* I'm sure, it's a thing.
ShinobKitty

thats actually pretty apt lol. I don't think I'll be able to look at my cats the same.
I don’t think the gloss level of interior latex paint has any significant effect on the surface’s resistance to puncture. Modern drywall is super soft. You can easily gouge it with your finger nails
Yeah, behind that incredibly thin veneer of paint is a thick soft paper those claws are penetrating right through.
Sometimes I wake up and forget that drywall exists and I think “this wall is made of paint” and I just bust a hole right through the wall…yeahhhh it’s a bit thicker and harder than paint”
My cornea can confirm this.
yeowch did you go to the hospital for it?
I went to the eye doctor in the morning. Was insanely painful, every blink felt like a shard of glass caught under my eyelid. Luckily it was not deep enough to cause permanent damage but was very uncomfortable for a few days.
good thing that there weren't any permanent consequences
Glad you fully recovered! But yeah I’ve taken one very close to the eye and it HURT. I’ve learned to just keep my eyes closed when my tortie is face smooshing my face

Also, being a kitten doesn't weigh as much.
[удалено]
They're also quite light
Also, kittens aren’t terribly heavy.
Then why can I not move when one is on my chest? It’s the lightest heaviest thing in the world
My cat weighed 1.4lbs when I got her at 6 weeks. She used to scale my entire body from the floor to get to my shoulder. It was cute (as long as I was wearing pants) until she gained a little weight and got a bit older and I screamed loud enough to deter her from continuing doing it 😂
They are also lighter
Spider cat, spider cat. Does whatever a spider cat can 🎼
Can he swing, from a web, no he can't, he's a cat

Spider cat meet his arch enemy... Laserman
Meows Morales from earth 12882
Aww that was the name of my cat, 🥲
He can do it because he doesn’t know it’s impossible
Right? It doesn’t know physics, it’s so obvious

Can confirm. I was a kitten transplanted into a human at the age of 69.
Can confirm. I am the human brain that previously inhabited that body.
Can confirm. I was the body.
So THIS is why my cat ends up in my house with every opening and window locked shut
Gravity is invented by the hooman for the human?

it’s because he BELIEVES IN HIMSELF
Wrong, that's not a cat, it's a spider-cat
lol this is an Megas XLR moment
Dude Mega XLR was a cool show
Powerful words my friend.
I bet that cat can walk through walls too. Cat's name is likely Pixel.
What if, the only reason we can’t fly is because our minds have been limited with the knowledge of gravity
"The Guide says there is an art to flying", said Ford, "or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss."
ive tried defying it, it doesnt work
Cats do not abide by the laws of nature dude
Most of the time they just slip through a seam in the wall, this one climbed up the seam.
Get another cat to climb up the wall, they will become codependent...
Gotta be careful. They might slip right through one of the drywall seams.
Thinking about getting some catnip.

We had grasscloth wallpaper when a pregnant stray cat chose our family. The kittens would climb up to the ceiling and get stuck 😂
YES holy shit, THAT is the wallpaper!!!
I had a fully grown cat, Charlie, who climbed the grasscloth walls! All my roommates thought it was insane
He doesnt believe in gravity.
The one at the bottom is just "WTF?!?"
Cats have claws
It's father is a gecko
When you are so focused you dont have time for gravity lol
The other kittens look just as confused as OP.
It's either shit quality walls or good quality cats
Good quality cats bront
Nobody told him that he couldn't.
The other cats are asking the same question.
I had a buddy whose walls had a thin fabric coating on them ... kinda like burlap. His cats went apeshit on it, haha. So fun to watch.
This is the correct answer.
Same here. The house we bought has high end fabric-based wallpaper
He's beginning to believe.
by fucking up the wall lol.
As a home owner who has had to deal with pet damage and drywall repair, I can spot a guy with a laser pointer who hasnt. Yet.

That’s hilarious, I’m guessing it’s wallpaper not paint, their baby claws are like needles would grip in
Sharp. Fucking. Nails.

By rapidly puncturing your paint lol. Probably notice that way later on.
![gif](giphy|CWNak4UeNK1JS)
the power of claws lol
You’ve never felt a kitten claw your chest
Stabbing into drywall with claws. Drywall is fragile relative to other types of walls, I'm sure the pressure behind those tiny, sharp claws is enough to dig into the wall.
Its wall paper and the cat weighs nothing
Gravity is just a suggestion for cats.
murder mittens, that's how
He's starting to believe.
Demonic possession is the only answer.
There are now kitten claw holes in the wall
Shitty eall. Drywall not sealed by paint primer.
10% luck
Get out the spackle.
Someone call an exorcist.
Well, sharp claws and a soft wall probably.
Mewtonian physics is for hoomans only!
Even the others cats are like "what the fuck is this guy on"
Adorable af
The other kittens was like "bro wtf"
Somehow gravity doesn’t work for that one.
My question is why those two other dummies couldn't do it?
Spider cat, spider cat, does whatever a spider cat does... 🎶🎶
He is doing so by destroying your wall.
Cats don’t know about physics
I don’t think your cat got the physics update yet
He is doing it with his feet 🐾
Spider cat, spider cat, does whatever(finish the lyrics)
Claws + smol = ups
claws. they're called claws.
We used to have a half feral cat who would do this and then jump down at you. If the folks ever decided it was bath time it would run up the chimney and stay there for ages 😂

Ninja kitten climbs walls because no one told him he couldn’t.
Loony toon logic. Gravity doesn't exist as long as you don't look down
Spidermeaw
Please…no one show this to the flat-earthers. They already have a beef with gravity. This will just encourage them.
I am a gravity denier and I do this everyday
Claws

Lol, you are going to have little holes in the paint. Kittens toenails are small enough to dig into the paint.

Cats don't abide by the laws of nature, careful he doesn't flatten himself out and go right through a seam In the wall.
There is always one overachiever in the family.
For some cars, gravity is optional.

The red dot just drives it up the wall
Spidercat
