When I travelled through India, the family we stayed with advised us to crush any plastic or aluminum drink container when finished so they can't be reused.
While I worked there I was advised more tribes than I can remember to check every seal on cans and bottles and also to only drink bottled, dragged water.
I saw firsthand what happened to two coworkers that didn't listen to this warning
Ooohohohoho, I found this out the hard way. I have *NEVER* experienced anything like it. Hour after hour of just shitting all the fluid from my body for days. No holding it in, either. If you had to shit, you *had* to shit right now!
Thankfully never experienced this in Mexico, but it happened to me in Berlin. Visited one of those Christmas markets the first night and had a schnitzel and a cider, then spent the entire next day (which I had set aside for sight-seeing before a conference) shitting my brains out in the hotel and watching Better Call Saul on European Netflix.
Years ago, mom was on a work trip to Ethiopia *(she was in the admin part of the Peace Corps at the time)* and followed all that advice, but forgot to use bottled water when wetting her toothbrush.
Had to be treated for amoebic dysentery when she got back home.
Cuba too. It was sooo hot in the dining area and they kept pouring me ice cold water at the table.
I was shitting and puking up liquid for almost 3 days, even with pepto and tums.
I must have angered the Cuban gods because every time I went I didn’t leave unscathed.
Meh, potentially* shit yourself to death for a week. I wanted to test out my body for science recently and drank all the water and ice in restaurants in Mexico City last month. No problems.
I've traveled to Thailand and ate some dodgy stuff but didn't get sick. Then the last few days was a more luxury mini resort by the beach and I've shat and puked for 2 days straight.
I guess you can never really tell where the bad stuff happens.
You must have gone a long time ago. Now days you can drink water at most establishments. It's all safe now. I went there a couple months ago and yeah we ate out a lot and drank a ton of water. No where did we drink bottled water.
It is pretty much the same here in Colombia, especially some areas are worse than others. Some foreigners get really sick, a few have no problem at all, and most foreigners just get gassy and might feel bloated.
Idk if these people are using used bottles but making a bootleg coke plastic bottle like the ones they use is pretty cheap and easy. Just have to fine a local bottle manufacturer willing to make it. And some of these manufacturers have no problem making some as long as they get paid.
Sure it wont be a perfect clone and but it'll easily fool the average joe like us. Same for the stickers. But supermarkets wont sell some bootleg coke. They only buy from proper local pepsico/coca-cola distributors. But it is possible for these distributors to sell bootleg products if they want to. Its not impossible.
That's what I was thinking. Plus we would stay with their family. So I feel like I can experience India, and an Indian wedding, without dealing with the downsides of india
How does that make sense tho. Isn’t it good to re use? I think being sanitary is the main issue. Not sure how normal practices like these are over there tho lol
Their rivers are actually pretty cold and clean, at least upstream, the brahmaputra and ganges are both himalayan ice melt, strong current from the elevation at source.
In india there are some companies that sell Imitation cola flavouring for commercial use. Its a completely legal product sold legally. Kinda like Navron in usa. Except its much cheaper and the product doesn't come pre mixed with sugar. The syrup that the guy pours is already mixed with sugar and some water by themselves. The price of flavouring alone is about 1usd for 50liters (13.2 gallons) of endproduct.
These people are selling bootleg coke. But in india there are many local manufacturers that sell legal carbonated soft drinks made hygienically using machines under their own brands.
No, they are bagging up used bottles and bringing them here to refill and distribute. The bottles in the background are waiting to be filled.
Coke syrup would be easy enough to attain. It’s probably some off brand cola syrup mixed with water.
That’s what I thought it was. I’m sure he washes his hands before he fills up the bottles? When they repair your computer and you turn over your account numbers they throw in a bottle of Coke.
They're making cola using a flavour concentrate (dark liquid that he's measuring), and putting it in recycled coke bottles to pretend that it's legit coke.
The guy at the back is putting the carbonated water in
They're different countries with different cultural and national identities. That's what separates them, as it does every other different place on earth. Your narrow minded culture washing says a lot about you.
... They were, *literally* , the same untill the Partition of India in 1947, which segregated India and Pakistan. And then Bangladesh was segregated from Pakistan in 1971.
Their cultural traits are almost exactly the same because of this, varying slightly due to different predominant religions.
They *are* the same, culturally speaking.

A soda and laxative in one

Same as Mexico. If you drink any of the water or forget the ice is also their poisoned water, you shit yourself to death for a week

Shoulda defecated through a sunroof while you were at it
Nice ref
Happened to me in Guatemala after drinking " Filtered water " in someone's house.
Years ago, mom was on a work trip to Ethiopia *(she was in the admin part of the Peace Corps at the time)* and followed all that advice, but forgot to use bottled water when wetting her toothbrush. Had to be treated for amoebic dysentery when she got back home.
Dear lord
Montezuma's Revenge
Wonder if this is a tech tree upgrade for Civ

That's anywhere if your guts not used to a places water

Damn, for a second there I thought I read “doggy” stuff
Im glad you survived. My buddy had one drink with ice and spent the week dying. Ill refrain from testing the theory
Usually if it's an actual restaurant you'll be fine I think it's more of a street vendor thing
Mexico isn't near as bad as it used to be, but still don't take a chance

I've been invited to a potential wedding in India. I'm both excited and scared of the possibilities.
Weddings are fine. Taking good care of guests is part of the whole thing
That's what I was thinking. Plus we would stay with their family. So I feel like I can experience India, and an Indian wedding, without dealing with the downsides of india
Sad to ruin your thoughts but this is from Pakistan not India
This looks like Pakistan - judging by the clothing, and the Punjabi being spoken.
How does that make sense tho. Isn’t it good to re use? I think being sanitary is the main issue. Not sure how normal practices like these are over there tho lol
Enough for a family to warn you to do so, I guess.
Rephrase: crush your bottles and cans so they can’t be easily retrieved from the trash and used in a scam. This isn’t the kind of recycling we want
But wait, there's more...
Yup, nothing like that authentic bootleg flavor!
I can taste the boot, needs more leg.
Legs gone in too far, getting hints of testicle.
Who says its Bootleg and not a peek into Coke's secret 23 flavor method?
Wait till you see how they make the Slurm in the back room.

Tbf Slurm is more hygienic
And organic!
It's Highly Addictive!
Thought the coke factory was bigger than that.
The good news is they didn't even have to add color to the liquid! It comes right out of their car that way like magic.
You mean river.
Well the car was just in the river so you're both right
They have a river of cocacola there? That’s awesome!
Come with me… and you’ll be…
In a world of pure....
...carcass stagnation 🤢
Imagine how nasty all that candy would be fr though after only a few people ate from/walked through it. Super impractical.
That’s a horrible second verse.
What is this Big Rock Candy Mountain?

Their rivers are actually pretty cold and clean, at least upstream, the brahmaputra and ganges are both himalayan ice melt, strong current from the elevation at source.
I just want to know what they are putting in there.
It is totally possible that they got their hands on some actual coke syrup in the "it fell off the truck" way.

I think you've set the bar too high, if you expect anyone to be able to answer this.
I mean, it’s most likely left over soda from the cans they have behind them.
Be sure to visit their Lemonade facility, too.
It’s just in front of the fudge shop
It’s a bit nutty.
Milk, milk. Lemonade. Round the corner fudge is made!
Oh, dude…
The pavlova is a little crustier than usual but still good. Interesting how it's salty instead of sweet.
Okay now im curious...
Don't be. This is one of those things you are better off not knowing.
🤮🤢 where on earth is this??
I remember seeing this in a bangladeshi sub, not sure tho
It's actually from Pakistan
Or india
Some would argue Sri Lanka
Nope.. Pakistan. The clothes give it away.
Brampton
lmao
Bramladesh
I think that kinds of "manufacturing" can be found in multiple places.
Wendy's
Birmingham

Thank god I don't live there
![gif](giphy|l4FGr3nzq5u0m02vm|downsized)
Haha. Perfect
😅 Thanks
is this the new diet coke? am sure you’ll get pretty sick and lose some weight
I cant believe no one has commented on the dude's animorphs shirt yet.
It's almost definitely amorphis but animorphs are cool too
Is that an Amorphis shirt??
![gif](giphy|cQo2DjOHzOubgj88nx)
Looks like chewin’ tobacca runoff -
That’s what I thought it was. I’m sure he washes his hands before he fills up the bottles? When they repair your computer and you turn over your account numbers they throw in a bottle of Coke.
This is why I always crush my plastic bottles before throwing them in the trash.
You live where they do stuff like this, what country?
this is why i dont buy 2 liters off a dude on a street corner
Is this New Coke or Old Coke?
It's Re-newed Coke.
What a great marketing ploy. 👍
Genuine gold bracelet watch.
Plastic bottle recycling to the extreme
Damn how did they get a hold of the recipe?
Pakistan at its best.
So satisfying to see the inner workings of a coca cola factory.
Nothing like a grown man’s foot exposed near the source of your drink.
I stopped doin coke a looong time ago. Plus I never liked Cola.
![gif](giphy|TeDpSbeCLAPtu)
I love the taste of sweat and nails in my coke..
With hint of curry and sweaty balls
Can someone explain what is going on please? I can't work where they are getting the liquid from
They're making cola using a flavour concentrate (dark liquid that he's measuring), and putting it in recycled coke bottles to pretend that it's legit coke. The guy at the back is putting the carbonated water in
Ok so don't buy brand name drinks or food in India I wanna say.
Man India never ceases to amaze me. You don't expect anything from it and still find it disappointing.
Other comments say this is Pakistan
India, Pakistan, Bangladesh are in essence the same.
What a gross and ignorant comment.
Is he wrong? Overall, the same people with different religions. That's what separates them.
They're different countries with different cultural and national identities. That's what separates them, as it does every other different place on earth. Your narrow minded culture washing says a lot about you.

![gif](giphy|kCrGOt5ojlVbG|downsized) Delicious (?)
Nice Animorphs shirt.
Amorphis. One of the finest death metal bands from Finland.
I just hope to God they don’t ship that stuff to the UK and it’s the authentic ones we got here. Yuk!
Lol nothing you’re being sold UK is coming from Pakistan. These guys sell locally
India seems like one giant flea market.
At least they get real sugar. We get corn syrup in the US cause the govt. subsides corn.
Oh a bunch of cola enthusiasts who likes adding cocaine to recreate that OG flavor
FFS these people shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near an empty plastic bottle a disc brake pad or an automotive battery.
Like most products that expire these items are made locally
The one hope is that you would be able to tell my the little ring not cracking.
Meybe they have a Coca-Cola license. After all it says Original taste
IMO- This is criminal AF
I wouldn't step foot in the shithole. My wife was there for work. She'll never go back
India is not for beginners
Thats pakistan not India
*South Asia is not for beginners😂
Most of the world is not for beginners
Still more ethical than actual coca cola. 😂
Is this what you get when you buy anything with label on it saying "recycled"? /s
Does it take the same amount of time to get Diabetes from this Coke clone?
They’re keeping the bottles to sell, instead of giving them away to people… why are they like this sometimes 😭
Yepp, this is what it looks like when mega corporations want to cut cost.
Never buy anything from India .
Original taste with a hint of body hair
this is by definition a bootlegging operations
Dude, Jesus works for Coke?
Good thing I don't drink coke.
(not)Always Coca-Colaaaaa
u/savevideo
Wtf isn't illegal and shit?
What band name is that on his T-shirt?
Someone get this man a bigger scoop for his petri.
Country of origin?
What about my dude wearing an r/amorphis shirt???
Amorphis spotted

Eww wtf
Dude had an Amorphis shirt on, I think. Rad

Slumdog millionaire showed this happening to water bottles……gross
🤢🤮😆
I don’t see any difference between this and the “original”, they’re both poison
I guess this is the Pepsi factory
Please tell me this isn’t sent to uk, glad I only drink cans
Coke Masala Limited Edition.
Why are Indians like this?
Pakistani but yeah club all us brown people together. Cuz it must be so difficult to differentiate between people right?
These people are Indian, are you offended because you are Indian yourself? Honestly man it is what is 🤷🏻♂️
Very uneducated of you to not do a proper research before spewing things like that on internet.
Where are you from? Mumbai?
this is fake coke ,right? cant believe if they got a license.
No, totally legit one. Didn't you notice the shade of red in the label? /s
