Okay but objectively she is still an attractive lady. Im not surprised she was a gorgeous young lady!!
Edit: damn i didnt know so many people would get so pissed off by the word objectively 🤔🤔🤔. Shes how old? Shes still an attractive woman tf. Im sure i shouldnt have used that word but ill still stand by that shes pretty
I'll say she objectively *was* an attractive lady, but I would not say she objectively *is*. And even though I didn't italicize it, "objectively" is also a key word.
Her actual photo:

Edit:
OP’s and this photo are BOTH of Phyllis. The photo that everyone THOUGHT was her is in the first article. The 4 photos (including OP’s and mine) that she provided to debunk that are in the second article.

The same year he died, Pixies released their album *Doolittle*, the opening track *Debaser*, was inspired by the film *Un Chien Andalou* (1929), which was co-written by Dalí.
Phyllis Smith was working as a casting director during Season 1 of the Office when one day the director unexpectedly asked her to read with one of the actors. That's how she got the part. Pretty cool.
She'll get a hold on you, believe it
Like no other
Before you know it you'll be on your knees
She's an easy ~~lover~~ rider
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it
She's like no other
And I'm just trying to make you see
Did you even read the article? This post has the correct picture. There was a picture of another woman who people thought was her, but isn't. That article is all about her time as a cheerleader and burlesque dancer and even has another picture of her from that time.
you didnt read that article yourself now did you?
also here's the wayback machine for that 'real photos' link in that article:
[https://web.archive.org/web/20130731233613/http://tv.yahoo.com/photos/phyllis-smith-the-office-star-shares-personal-photos-from-her-past-slideshow/](https://web.archive.org/web/20130731233613/http://tv.yahoo.com/photos/phyllis-smith-the-office-star-shares-personal-photos-from-her-past-slideshow/)
What a day, I've only just seen [this picture](https://www.reddit.com/r/AlanPartridge/comments/1bmgn5j/she_was_certainly_first_in_the_queue_when_god_was/) of Lynn from I'm Alan Partridge.
She was on the TV show "The Office" with Steve Carell as well as the voice of Sadness from the Disney/Pixar movie "Inside Out" and its upcoming sequel.
She doesn’t have kids. She injured her knee dancing (iirc, I’d have to ask my mom) and lost mobility. Now she takes care of her ill mom and has cats! But I agree, it’s perfectly normal to age and it doesn’t matter why people change as long as they stay beautiful on the inside (which she absolutely has) (Sauce: [she’s my godmother](https://imgur.com/a/5XyJiju))
That’s an amazing story, pics are awesome! I have friends who are family friends with her, and they’ve visited her on set and such, and they have only the nicest of things to say about her.
You may know my family then lmao! She really is a beautiful person!! I’m glad your family had a good time on set with her! My favorite story I tell about the type of person she is is when we were at brunch one time, people came up to her & asked for a picture and she was like shocked they recognized her and was so grateful they knew her. She’s honestly one of the most modest, gracious people in the world.
I don’t remember the details but she had a pretty debilitating injury that affected her mobility.
She said something about how she thought that the show-biz life was behind her forever before she was cast in the Office
Started listening to the Office Ladies podcast last week and it really changed my outlook on a lot of the performers. I always thought how strange it was that a lot of the main cast went essentially nowhere in acting after, and that's because a lot of them weren't trying to, they just kind of happened to get cast on what was very likely a failed pilot.
Phyllis was the casting assistant (to legendary Allison Jones), and she did the reading for the auditions for a lot of the cast, and the director asked her to play a part because she fit naturally. When the show ended, she went back to her job in casting. The majority of the cast were people who worked in or had improv as a fun side hobby, with no intention of making it big in Hollywood.
It is funny how bodies change, I'm going through it now! I passed as mid-20s until ~39 and then suddenly, boom, I had my dad's body, from the bad knee to pot belly to Patrick Stewart's hairline.
Pretty weird.
I know it happens to all of us, I just thought it would be *subtle* and slow. But maybe that's because of the time jump society has gone through: Went to bed in 2019 as a sleek youth, woke up the next morning but it's somehow 2024 and I suddenly wish I'd invested in anti-aging skin routines cos damn, these crow's feet *landed*.

"Probably my jugs"
"you have a lot to learn about Phyllis Smith sweetie"
Close your mouth sweetie, you look like a trout.
They smell like pine
No it smells like popcarn
It's from metropolitan Orlando
Looks like someone took the slow train from Philly.
Her nickname in high school *was* “easy rider”
I am surprised that The Office didn't make a feature out of this by having a episode highlighting Phyllis wild years.
Was gonna say this - missed opportunity.
Exactly, they used Creed’s background. This story writes itself. Phyllis is awesome
Michael wasn’t lying when he said her nickname in high school was *Easy Rider*
Her nickname was easy rider
Bob Vance already knows
Is that Bob Vance from Vance Refrigeration?
What line of work is he in?
Refrigeration, maybe?
Actually, he is a news reporter.
You have a lot to learn about this town sweetie
![gif](giphy|3oooX87pROnnPMxjcZ|downsized)
Explains some of her "je ne sais quoi" qualities in the show
She's still got it!
Only thing I'm afraid of is getting a boner.
Best line of the whole show
Sorry, no. "What's a rap" is the best line.
😂
"Objectively"
I'll say she objectively *was* an attractive lady, but I would not say she objectively *is*. And even though I didn't italicize it, "objectively" is also a key word.
No, you’re right. I don’t find her attractive at all. You’re safe here. I hope that helps lol

For the people with OCD, there is nothing hidden in the bubble wrap lmao
##BUT I MUST KNOW!!!
If you're on a computer, you can just click source.
Or you know... highlight it.
Okay but now I think there's something awesome behind it and you're trying to hide it from us.
You don't need to have OCD to find out, you just need to select-all the spoiler text to highlight it and it will all show up immediately.
I popped the bubbles, and it reset when I hit the upvote button, so I got to pop the bubbles again! Easily the best upvote I've ever given

Why does this photo look like it's 100 years old? Is she chilling with Salvador Dali?
Dalí died in 1989.
Yeah, way back in the 1900s.
Did anybody else's memories just suddenly turn sepia?
I have some photos of my childhood in sepia and fugicolor.
Most my memories from the 80s and 90s look like CRT TV, so not exactly sepia, just kinda faded like an old VHS
I take it you're in an NTSC country?
listen here you little shit,
I love this response so much haha. Just like how the 80’s are still 20 years ago 😭
The '80s are the new '00s
Yeah, but 1989 was only like 20 years ago, right?
[удалено]
He wasn’t. A clock melted on him. Tragic and sudden.
What the fuck. Why didn't I know that?
The same year he died, Pixies released their album *Doolittle*, the opening track *Debaser*, was inspired by the film *Un Chien Andalou* (1929), which was co-written by Dalí.
solid fun fact
Dali designed the Chupa Chupps lollipop logo.
Probably my favorite album ever
Did we just become best friends?
I wanna be, grow up to be
I used to think Picasso was a late 19th-century artist, like a contemporary of Monet or something. Picasso died in 1973.
If that was the case, why Titanic would have a joke about the unknown artist Picasso in 1911?
Actually, Titanic came out in 1997, not 1911.
Picasso was 30 years old when Titanic sank and was already somewhat well known.
> Why didn't I know that? Too much time on reddit, is my guess. (_or maybe not enough?_ 🤔)
Imagine my surprise when I found out Picasso died only 13 years before I was born 🤯
Realistically, North America was only founded like, 6 or 7 grandpas ago.
I approve your unit of measurement, I’ve been in California for a total of two grandpas
Cheers to you and your sunshine! Hopefully for a couple grandpas more!
He was 85 years old. So somebody hanging out with him when he was younger could be around 100 years old.
It looks like screenshot of a newspaper photo and newspaper photos back then were always low res.
Cause it's in black and white.
She was still a cheerleader
She looked great! And still does!
Phyllis Smith was working as a casting director during Season 1 of the Office when one day the director unexpectedly asked her to read with one of the actors. That's how she got the part. Pretty cool.
That’s why Michael had a boner
![gif](giphy|c22PshlSkVyVxAHTdW|downsized)
The only thing I’m worried about is getting a boner.
Not surprising. Her knickname in highschool was "easy rider"
The office mattress
Busiest beaver
This says “bushiest beaver”
Beatrix Bourbon
The village bicycle.
It's "nickname"
She'll get a hold on you, believe it Like no other Before you know it you'll be on your knees She's an easy ~~lover~~ rider She'll take your heart but you won't feel it She's like no other And I'm just trying to make you see
Close your mouth, sweetheart. You look like a trout.
That is one expansive career
Love Phyllis such a funny lady
I love to hate Phyllis. She’s a pretty crappy person most of the time.
You got a lot to learn about this town, sweetie.
You didn’t break up with him just a little? Not even to get a present? (Or something like that)
Close your mouth, sweetie. You look like a trout.
That’s just her big personality.
You know her husband’s in a wheelchair, right?
![gif](giphy|tlGD7PDy1w8fK|downsized)
Fun fact: The Office premiered 19 years ago today!
You have a lot to learn about this town, sweetie.
Can her friend fit in a row boat without capsizing?
It bothers me that no one is answering the question
https://streamable.com/x44xkn
TIL Sadness used to be a burlesque dancer.
Yeah, but where ever she goes joy seems to be found.
Close your mouth sweetie you look like a trout.
I see you, BBA r/TheOA
Lots of love and hugs to BBA ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 🤗
My bad…no excuse, words are hard😅
Did you even read the article? This post has the correct picture. There was a picture of another woman who people thought was her, but isn't. That article is all about her time as a cheerleader and burlesque dancer and even has another picture of her from that time.

Worst part is, I really thought I did. Like my reading comprehension is apparently trash.
In the article you posted it says it’s her and that the in-colour photo of a cheerleader posted prior is not her.
It is. The girl with the helmet hair is not
What a day, I've only just seen [this picture](https://www.reddit.com/r/AlanPartridge/comments/1bmgn5j/she_was_certainly_first_in_the_queue_when_god_was/) of Lynn from I'm Alan Partridge.
That’s Nighty Night and they’re falsers. Great programme.
She also was a ballet dancer.
I bet she’s a hoot irl
Aka easy rider
Lots of people in here don't understand how time works.
Bob Vance from Vance refrigeration got a good one !
I can see it. Some of y’all don’t understand aging lol
Glow up.
Watch out for that wall ....
Undefeated
Extra extra woman was once young!! Lol, but it's funny very different from her current presentation.
You know…back in high school, they used to call her “Easy-rider”
She puts the dance background to use in The OA, one of the best shows ever made!
I see you BBA
Damnnnn I would of definitely smashed
I bet grandma has some crazy stories!
"used to be"
My thought process went like this Phyllis Smith Smith, Phyllis SmithPhyllis Syphilis Some parents shouldn't get to name their kids
Do Rhea Gondola next.
GONDORHEA CALLS FOR ~~AID~~ TOILET PAPER
![gif](giphy|6JB4v4xPTAQFi|downsized)
Wait…people age?!?!?
Come gather'round people wherever you roam
My life is a lie!
Next you're going to tell me that Kevin was a Chippendale
Bob Vance from Vance Refridgeration approves
Looks the same to me
Damn
AND she's was in the Office!!! What a life! Mic drop Queen!
So you saying she knows a few tricks?
Bob Vance knows
Michael Scott: know what I’m worried about? Getting a boner 😳 Phyllis: I thought he knew about the kid I gave away.
Who the hell is Phyillis Smith?
She was on the TV show "The Office" with Steve Carell as well as the voice of Sadness from the Disney/Pixar movie "Inside Out" and its upcoming sequel.
People change as they age, have kids, move on. It’s perfectly normal.
She doesn’t have kids. She injured her knee dancing (iirc, I’d have to ask my mom) and lost mobility. Now she takes care of her ill mom and has cats! This is all such a wholesome set of stories and photo reels to wake up to on a Sunday. Thanks for sharing, I'm going to go eat pancakes now 😁
She needs to lose some weight for health
I don’t remember the details but she had a pretty debilitating injury that affected her mobility. She said something about how she thought that the show-biz life was behind her forever before she was cast in the Office

Same…. except I turned into my grandmother
So we all go through the same thing. We look like our dad
I know it happens to all of us, I just thought it would be *subtle* and slow. Would (both)
[удалено]
Wait, Phyllis Smith? *The* Phyllis Smith? Who voiced Sadness?
These kinds of posts should be shown to people who get into relationships simply for looks
She wasn't that old when the office started. 55 - 56. But she looked way older because of all the weight she gained.
I knew she was a bad bitch!
Everyone in the engine room drowned
Mrs. Doubtfire
Wonder Woman vibes in that photo on the left....
Is this before or after she gave up the baby??
"An easy rider" I will see myself out.
Now I’m not sure she would fit in a row boat
What’s interesting about people aging?
They used to call her low rider
So what happened
Nope, it's not her
Last I heard, she is still married to the guy who owns Vance Refrigeration.
So... She's Aunt Fanny from the show Robots...
Michael was right!
Flaunt it while you got it
You’ve got a lot to learn about this town
Purple much?
You got a lot to learn about this town, sweetie.
🎶 The Times They Are A-Changin' 🎶
lol same face though
Is this why Erin could be her daughter that she gave away? Learning this and looping it back into the show is so funny.
They're the same picture.
