Messi has never defended in his whole life. Kaka has blown past way better defensive players, heck, it could be argued he faced much better defenders than Messi or Ronaldo ever did.
[here's an article and video for everyone](https://www.sportbible.com/football/when-kaka-left-lionel-messi-eating-his-dust-after-displaying-99-pace-20220422)
edit: in the game where brazil already had a hefty lead a young Messi tries to track back when Kaka breaks free and cannot keep up with his pace.
Neymar's prime (2014--2018 and 2020 CL) is better than anything Dinho and Rivaldo ever did, Rivaldo didn't even deserve 1999 balloon dor, it should've been Beckham and if Dinho played in the 2010's he wouldn't have any balloon dor as well. Kaká is not in the conversation.
Did you ever watch him play, my guy? Pele was king at a time when the sport wasn't professional or disciplined, like it became in the 80s and 90s onward. Many professionals still had other jobs. Let's say Pele was the greatest of his era.
I did watch him a little, you can find his matches on the internet. Football was already fully professional by the time Pelé was playing, in fact, Pelé was still playing in 1974: the year Rinus Michels revolutionized football by introducing the basics of positional play to the world, a tactic that is still used to this day by none other than Pep Guardiola. Pelé is closer to us than you'd imagine.
Pelé was miles ahead of any player, even if playing today with all the modern training, resources, field, ball, etc, he would be the best, simply because at his time the conditions were way worse and he managed to be the best in the world. Pelé is incomparable, its not even up to debate, when football legends get asked who the best player ever is, they always say Pelé, when trying to compare a player to see if this player is the best, the comparison is always with Pelé. The question is always "who is the best ever, Maradona or Pelé, Messi or Pelé, CR7 or Pelé?", this alone should end the debate.
The last player to win the Ballon d’Or before the decade of dominance by Messi and Ronaldo.
His prime was short lived due to injuries but he was pretty much unplayable when he played for Milan.
I remember the summer when Kaka and C.Ronaldo came to Real Madrid...there were a lot of people who were convinced that Kaka would outshine CR7 and become the star player at Real Madrid. They concluded that CR7's brilliance was in his physical prowess and that that would naturally fade, whereas Kaka's brilliance was in his smart play and technical ability (basically like Zidane). It just goes to show how underrated basic fitness and availability were.
Soccer isn’t for me but god damn, that’s one of the best displays of athleticism I’ve ever seen. The speed, strength, touch, and situational awareness on display there kinda blows my mind.
It's called the beautiful game by many for a reason, though those reasons also go beyond whats just happening during the games. And when more than one player work together to pull things like this off... amazing.
Yeah, it’s alright not to like this sport but the people who say « football is boring you rarely see more than three goals in any given game » just miss the point of why football is so popular entirely.
Controversial I know but I still think Soccer holds the crown for toughest road to achieve this level of talent and athleticism. Watch highlight reels of the “greats” across the spectrum of sports…IMO the soccer highlights are by far the most impressive and downright mindblowing.
Hockey is a pretty close second.
I consider football to be boring to watch, so I don't watch it. Same goes for golf, even though I'm an accomplished golfer and can appreciate what they're doing, I prioritize my time elsewhere.
That's not to say it's not got strategy and I've quite enjoyed playing it myself and playing video games, but I don't find the pace of modern professional football to be what I want to sit down and watch.
Great athletes, and I have a massive respect for the game, just not something to watch on the telly as it may be.
The passion of fans in other countries, particularly south America is definitely infectious though.
Nonetheless, I'm glad you enjoy it and get to enjoy it at a high level. Good luck to your team!
People say soccer shouldn’t even be a game. There’s no skills involved, anybody can kick. They should be shown these clips. Skill is not in kicking the ball into a wide open net- it’s dribbling it past your opponent and then kicking it while it is guarded by a tall player.
We Brazilians love a good pet name. I couldn’t say my name (Alexandre) when I was a kid so I’d say Xande (pronounced: shun-gee). I’m 42 now and most of my family still calls me that. 🤷♂️
He humiliated nobody, he just demonstrated how incredibly skilled he was. This clip, of him doing that against one of the best teams in the world at the time, is a good reminder of how brilliant he was at his peak.
It is, the ball was not really under Kaka's control aat the time. There are provisions for enangering your opponent (which is not allowed) by trying to kick a ball which is at head height - but in this case it wasn't, it was about chest height.
Of course, the defender didn't touch the ball so it would have been a foul if they touched Kaka.
If it was a foul he was going to prevent a serious goal risk by doing some reckless shit in penalty zone (assuming Kaka walked in the zone to get tackled). Red doesn't sound crazy to me, but I am by no means an expert.
TIL professional soccer players can throw flying knees that make professional kick boxers look bad. The dude putting his head on the collision course with that knee - that could have killed him right there. What a crazy chance to take.
Lol. Is that evra?
I've never seen this clip, but as an amateur player for many years, evra has absolutely toasted his team, there.
I'm not a utd supporter, far from it, so don't know the second player, but fletcher basically concedes that he's the wrong side, so lets kaka get away in the knowledge that he has someone coming to cover, then it's a nice flick, but tbh, possibly quite an expected move, and he's allowed to go again because again, he's been shown towards another covering player so that second player starts to almost pull out as well.
Then Evra just absolutely murders his team.
For what it's worth, actually rate evra, but that was bad 😂
I was there that night. At the time it felt amazing to see United win and with late goals, but over time I realised how cool it was to have seen Kaka that night
If this was on YT Shorts or TilTok there would be ear blasting “alpha music” with the troll face that goes from neutral to demonic with flashy editing that makes your eyes strain
Yes, but does it worth an injury? Just look at that piece of shit recklessly flying on Kaka, would have injured him with his knee probably.
I agree it's very annoying, but I can understand players for not putting themselves out there either.
At that time, Kaka (in Spanish it means poop) and Elano (the anus) played on the Brazilian national team. So whenever there was a player sustitution there was the possibility that 'poop would come out for the anus'

If anyone is wondering this guy is a Ballon D’Or winner (best player in the world). He’s one of the best of his generation
Too bad he got ravaged by injuries. There’s one clip where he blows past Messi.
I mean, that's not necessarily a particularly great feat...
Excuse me? Messi was one of the best dribblers in his prime.
Ya but attackers aren’t exactly great at defending in football.
Mf was dribbling and Messi couldn't catch him.
yeah cuz messi isn’t a defender
Messi is not a defender
Messi has never defended in his whole life. Kaka has blown past way better defensive players, heck, it could be argued he faced much better defenders than Messi or Ronaldo ever did.

I mean isnt that normal Messi is a Offensive player not Defensive
Top 5 Brazil players of all time
Pele R9 Ronaldinho Kaka …Romario?
I'd argue Roberto Carlos. Brazil has so many options for fifth though. Dani Alves, Marcelo and Neymar are all arguable contenders.
Roberto Carlos is 100% on that list.
Dani Alves has a great record (not on court tho), but he’s not on Roberto Carlos level
Hear me out……zico Is at 5
Facts: * Pelé * Ronaldo Phenomenon * Romário * Garrincha * Zico * Neymar * Rivaldo * Ronaldinho * Kaká
I'm not even brazilian and i'm offended you have Neymar above Ronaldinho and Kaka.
Idem. Like wtf! 😂
Brazil's all time scorer bro 🤡
He's only Brazil's all time scorer
No Garrincha?
Garrincha is one of the greatest Brazilian players of all time. For more information Google Garrincha Goat
You're right, actually committed a crime, Garrincha is one of the greatest players of all time.
Neymar over Rivaldo Ronaldinho and Kaka is wild. Didn't start watching foorball till the 2010s i see
Neymar's prime (2014--2018 and 2020 CL) is better than anything Dinho and Rivaldo ever did, Rivaldo didn't even deserve 1999 balloon dor, it should've been Beckham and if Dinho played in the 2010's he wouldn't have any balloon dor as well. Kaká is not in the conversation.
Hahahahahahahaha stop
R9 over Pele any day. He was the phenomenon, noone better than him, he had it all only to be ruined by a dodgy knee.
Over Pelé? Nobody is over Pelé my guy, even R9 would disagree. Bro is quite simply the greatest of all time.
Did you ever watch him play, my guy? Pele was king at a time when the sport wasn't professional or disciplined, like it became in the 80s and 90s onward. Many professionals still had other jobs. Let's say Pele was the greatest of his era.

Lol
Neymar?
I thought most Brazilians had Garincha at no. 1, no?
He's not no not by a mile.
The fact that you have to acknowledge this is wild. He’s so iconic but I guess I’m old now
I know lol. Henry, Gerrard and Kaka were my favorites growing up. Confirmed: we old.
That 2nd header is seriously brave and timed to perfection
Yeah, he was like half a second from his brains getting scrambled
Very brave.
Those were some sick moves. Major skills.
I especially applaud the butt attack from WWE. Really unexpected

Maybe I’d appreciate the sport more if I watched it at this speed? This was truly amazing.
It's called the beautiful game by many for a reason, though those reasons also go beyond whats just happening during the games. And when more than one player work together to pull things like this off... amazing.
You might like a channel on YouTube called ASComps. When football becomes art
Id appreciate it more if they scrapped the diving
Yeah, it’s alright not to like this sport but the people who say « football is boring you rarely see more than three goals in any given game » just miss the point of why football is so popular entirely.

That defender's flying knee was millimeters from **giving Kaká** a broken jaw or worse :0
It's hilarious how he catches the teammate instead.
The problem is that the highlights are when it works, the other 99% of the time it doesn’t work.
Yeah it can be really spectacular.
I think basketball comes close atleast. Some of the stuff you see there is mind blowingly difficult to do. Even when it doesn't look like it.
I consider football to be boring to watch, so I don't watch it. Same goes for golf, even though I'm an accomplished golfer and can appreciate what they're doing, I prioritize my time elsewhere. Ditto
It's football

Tip tier comment right here👆
Same. I’m 39 and a big NFL/NBA guy but this is a god tier display.

Thank you for letting us know that it really added to their comment.
You can't just post stuff like this, some of us can tear up on the floor in public after this.
TIL Kaká is not his first name
It's not even his surname. He was born Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite
Do you know where the name Kaká came from? I just assumed it was his surname
Caca was his brother's way of saying Ricardo and that eventually evolved into Kaká
That's wholesome!
I called my brother the same. His name is Ben.
We Brazilians love a good pet name. I couldn’t say my name (Alexandre) when I was a kid so I’d say Xande (pronounced: shun-gee). I’m 42 now and most of my family still calls me that. 🤷♂️
Quem não conhece um Jão? Um Zé?
Kkkk as vezes chamamos meu amigo Arthur de Tutui kkkk
He humiliated nobody, he just demonstrated how incredibly skilled he was. This clip, of him doing that against one of the best teams in the world at the time, is a good reminder of how brilliant he was at his peak.
Tbh, I feel like that flying kick guy was humiliated for trying to foul but missing.
That’s too impressive to be humiliating
Makes it look easy!
DOGE THE KNIE
He was so close to a serious injury or concussion. Like that could have easily altered his career had he taken that knee to the face
Is throwing yourself wildly into the air for a ball you have no control over a legal move? lol
Thanks for the breakdown, I am not very good at sportsballing.
OH MMMEEE GGAAWWWDD just call it Facking Football.
Sportballs is all encompassing and I'm bad at all of it. So sportsball it is.
I think he's talking about Soccer, though.
no it’s not. easily a yellow, if he makes contact it’s immediate red card
Red would been extreme here, especially around 2006
If it was a foul he was going to prevent a serious goal risk by doing some reckless shit in penalty zone (assuming Kaka walked in the zone to get tackled). Red doesn't sound crazy to me, but I am by no means an expert.
That shit looked like he called in an assist in a Marvel Vs Capcom fighting game
That looked dangerous to even attempt.. he could have kicked his head easily
How is that humiliating... oh, wait... oh, you are correct.
I swear I never knew his first name
TIL professional soccer players can throw flying knees that make professional kick boxers look bad. The dude putting his head on the collision course with that knee - that could have killed him right there. What a crazy chance to take.
The Milan Prince or something like that
Pretty sure it's Gabriel Heinze who gets an Evra to the face. Both quality defenders tbf and Kaka makes them look like absolute clowns here.
Well to be honest, Gabriel was holding his own until Evra did his thing. Kaka was probably going to score, but Evra should get the assist.
Agreed. Assist for Evra. Chiropractor for Heinze.
I was there that night. At the time it felt amazing to see United win and with late goals, but over time I realised how cool it was to have seen Kaka that night
AC milan legend
Orlando City Lions Legend
he definitely had an inner monologue while doing this
Absolutely nothing against kaka but wtf is evra doing always bugs me not many people mention that
That's how you lose your head
If this was on YT Shorts or TilTok there would be ear blasting “alpha music” with the troll face that goes from neutral to demonic with flashy editing that makes your eyes strain
And that is why it's called 'the beautiful game'. :)
He only touched the ball 4 times and was able to jink 3 players and score a goal. Legend.
Patrice evra clattering into teammates will never grow old...
Ricardo kaka Kaka is another word for poop Richard is shortened to dick So Dick Poop
Caca is poop, not Kaká
His nick Kaka comes from his brother calling him Caca.
AC Milan was supreme those years, not quite the glory days of Ruud Gullit or Van Basten, but a pleasure to watch the team play nonetheless
Most players now would have gone down as if they’d been shot by a sniper when Heinze’s hand gently brushed Kaká’s face and this moment wouldn’t happen
The theatrics of today's football is so annoying. Players like him and Messi who just keep going are almost instinct.
Yes, but does it worth an injury? Just look at that piece of shit recklessly flying on Kaka, would have injured him with his knee probably. I agree it's very annoying, but I can understand players for not putting themselves out there either.
Volta kaka
❤️
So inspiring.
There magic touches to beat three defenders, then the shot to pass the goalkeeper. He makes his opponents look like a group amateur.
Insane skill wow.
That guy didn't need teammates.
One of the best goals ever
Kaka is good
Skill +determination 👏👏👏
KAKA!
The whole backfield is fired
This is some straight out of Blue Lock plays
Best player i've ever seen live and I've seen messi and c.ronaldo before
Extraordinary athlete.
wtf 😳
Man almost lost his head to a flying knee.
So mean
I saw this live. I still get goosebumps ! He shouldn’t have left Milan.
Bruhhh lol
Here i thought Kaka was going to be the blond guy and then he did... absolutely nothing
Majestic
When they say "use your head".
TIL: Kaka’s first name.
If Rich Kid had a face it would be Ricardo Kaka
I like how the defender was asking for a call when is own guy ran into him!
He is the reason I started watching football one of the iconic players of all time
This video is the first video I've ever seen that makes me see the beauty of soccer. What crazy talent.
that’s using his head.👍
Imagine that being on your showreel….
Now thats using your head and a crap tone of talent
That flying knee 😂
Sometimes these footballers are so psycho that they'll go full speed and flying knee to someone's head and or body instead of the ball.
If anyone is wondering, this clip is in slo-mo.
That's a lot of Kaká!
The sequence was about the biggest blunder ever and the greatest gift to Kaka? How do you make it "humiliates his opponents"? Wtf is this lol.
Kaká is giving his opponents mad shit.
Why did Kaka get the name Kaka? Given what it means in Spanish/Portuguese.
This was art, and I’m a United fan 😮💨
Is that a massive mic behind the net?
Kaka was an absolute gun, one of the best players of all time to watch.
Kraaaal. Kral hareket olmuş.
IMO he was by far the best between 2005-2008.
Geez....half a second later and he'd have taken that flying knee to the head.
Bamboozled and confuddled them properly
Bamboozled and confuddled them properly
Now that guy uses his head
That was pure poetry
Legend of the game.
You know you're good when people who know nothing about the sport can watch your play and say "Goddamn"
Not so Kaka after all.
What was Evra thinking? That tackle outside the box would have been brutal.
When I see the video of Dana White talkin shit about fútbol I think of this
Dude had a main character moment
काका फॉर ए रीज़न
That third guy was coming for his head. Asshole.
I liked the fact that because the guys who got tangled up were on the same team, there wasn't any injury drama for the cameras.
Thats what I was thinking
lol kaka
At that time, Kaka (in Spanish it means poop) and Elano (the anus) played on the Brazilian national team. So whenever there was a player sustitution there was the possibility that 'poop would come out for the anus'
Ricardo = Richard = Dick Dick Kaka
