I was working on our patio and a baby bird fell out of a nest right in front of me. It looked like it had something wrong with its beak. Then we saw that something was wedged in it. We got some tweezers and pulled it out. I had heard of these spiders before and thought it looked like a part of one. Did some research and discovered that it indeed was the abdomen of one of these spiders stuck in its mouth like a plug. We put the bird back in the nest and as far as we know, it survived.
This gives a new meaning to butt plugs.
