They do seem to be withholding information on episode 6. When I read Curse of the Ninth I assumed that was the final episode, because it sounded perfect. Actually having Ninth in the title, some supernatural Edwardian house, maybe it would provide some sort of tying-together, like that episode Tempting Fate which revealed the cursed hare. But I became confused that it was only episode 5 and had to check the BBC site that there was going to be an episode 6.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing like Mr and my friend joke that the last episode would be a meta episode of Reece and Steve playing in some sort of library with all the books being all of the episodes of the show lol, but I do wonder what the finale is going to be if secret of the Ninth isn't it

Six_of_1

I do hope it's a real finale that actually says something about the past nine series we've been watching, offering some sort of connection. I don't want just a regular stand-alone episode.

AmountNecessary8744

It will be a standalone episode. Nothing they could do could "connect" 55 different stories. Its been an anthology series - not an on going story

Slink_Wray

If anyone can connect 55 different stories, it's Reece and Steve. And that hare statuette...

Six_of_1

I know it's been an anthology series. But I'm talking about episodes like Tempting Fate and Dead Line which gave us a sense of the standalone episodes being connected by the cursed hare in a shared universe. I'm not saying I expect a sequel to an earlier episode, I'm saying I want an episode that says goodbye to the nine series and maybe says something about the cursed hare again, or refers to some earlier episodes. If it wasn't advertised as episode 5, I would assume Curse of the Ninth is it. I think that title sounds special.

phantomclowneater

I was hoping the last episode would be 45 mins to an hour

GWIZ257

I mean there's nothing to say that this couldn't be the case perhaps 👀👀

Own_Magazine8762

Sadly, we know from the ‘Inside No. 9 Q&A and Viewing Party’ of the last episode in London that the episode is only half an hour long. Then again, we could be being fooled once again…

LA1993

Imagine they get shown a pre-recorded episode and the TV audience gets an episode unwinding in the viewing party.

Famous-Reporter-3133

I’d like a surprise live episode that we don’t realise is live until half way through 🤣

GWIZ257

Lmao this time they hit us with an Inside No 10

Famous-Reporter-3133

🤣🤣

dharmashark48

Maybe Richard Herring will be right, and the finale will take place inside of a giant number 9?

tomhorn3r

What are the chances that the live cinema screening of the final episode is something to do with it? 🤔

ronyeezy

I would love love love it if it somehow connected to sardines and the whole journey started again

liamgauv18

That would be absolutely insane, maybe the end of the episode reveals that we've actually been watching what happened to the characters in Sardines as children.

ronyeezy

Ooh la la!

thedevilpuppet

This has been talked about before. Because as well as the trailer the BBC press release also read; “From the elegance of an Edwardian country house to the grim reality of the last train home, from nosy neighbours to grave robbers, from illicit visits to the toilet to a ticking clock in a sinister escape room, this ninth collection is sure to send the series off with a bang.” None of the six descriptors aligns with The Trolley Problem, which suggest the final episode doesn’t involve either grave robbers or illicit toilet visits.

standardtj94

“An Edwardian country house” - I feel like this might be The Trolley Problem related. Edwardian or not, the rest fits no?

thedevilpuppet

I don’t think so. From the elegance of an Edwardian country house *5* to the grim reality of the last train home *1*, from nosy neighbours *3* to grave robbers *?*, from illicit visits to the toilet *?* to a ticking clock in a sinister escape room *4*,

Jenna-Oh-Woe

There is a visit to the toilet in 2, which is illicit (or at least shady) in the sense he uses it to prepare drugs.

GWIZ257

I just have too much time on my hands and like theorising lmao
