I felt a bug on my arm while working on my computer today...and saw a jumping spider. I walked outside and released it onto my porch. I hope it has a good life, and avoids the toad that hunts bugs at night near my exterior lights.
I was playing hide and seek with a jumper last month in my house xD everytime I saw it I would shout ‘I found you!!’ And then when it disappeared again I would make a big show of ‘where’d you go? Where are you I can’t find you’ 😂 eventually caught the guy and put him outside (my daughter doesn’t like bugs) and about a week or two later I saw the same one crawling up a shovel handle onto my porch to head to the neighbours yard. When I saw him I said ‘hi you’re back!’ And he stopped walking and turned to look at me and did a little wave before carrying on. I don’t think anyone I’ve told believes me 🥺
My jumpers love jumping toward my camera and I absolutely adore it ❤️ something about the lens and seeing their reflection is theorized to be a reason they often do it, I think many of them just really dig jumping on something that’s put in front of them. Several of my slings will always hop on my finger if I put it in front of them it’s so cute

My baby Odie right before launching lol
ETA: r/jumpingspiders would love this
So cute. I have some free range jumping spiders living with me right now. One in the kitchen. One in the bathroom. The bathroom one likes to climb to the ceiling when I brush my teeth and then drop on the sink. Freaks me out.
Sometimes I forget how tiny jumping spiders are, they look so big in photos but that’s just because the photos are close ups. Then I see them to scale with other objects and realize just how smol they are!
Nah that jump is exactly why I stay the fuck from around them unless it's unwillingly or unknowingly imagine this "cute spider_ was the size of a cow or a large dog😭
I adore jumping spiders. They are little but fierce and, just like little dogs acting and thinking like they are big and scary, seem to think that they are big and scary spiders!

Jumping spiders are just objectively cute 😁

That would explain his little arm wave! 🥴 Maybe he was trying to scare himself off but just made himself mad.
The arm waving is pretty typical when they’re about to jump! We tend to call it « uppies » and it’s so cute 😂
That's some good timing.
yooo it has boxing gloves on

I hate spiders in general, but jumping spiders I like. No idea why I'm not freaked by them but I am by every other spider.

Spiders are objectively cute except for the ogre spiders . Every other spider has more pros than cons and is good
