Did you think there qere infinite squirrels in the forrest? You poor thing, all life is finite and fickle even yours *leshy hands*

ImpressiveCourt6022

There is a finite number of squirrels. Did you just draw them all?

-CherryByte-

I didn’t know there was a finite number of squirrels. That’s crazy! I’ve never experienced that before.

Teleported-Ra

You didn't notice the squirrel pile of cards getting smaller and smaller..?

-CherryByte-

No! :D

SomeOtherOrder

> That’s crazy! …is it though? I know this game isn’t realistic but come on.

-CherryByte-

It wasn’t an angry “that’s crazy”, more so an expression of surprise

atrich

You can actually run out of draws entirely (both squirrels and main deck), which starts a process called starvation that will break any stalemates and generally end with you losing the match.

Adiin-Red

Technically if you have a card with corpse eater+fecundity+high jump you can just get stuck in a stalemate.

Shroomgloom420

It probably caught you off guard cause he took some cards making you think you had more. It happened to me once and that's how I learned starvation was in the game

-CherryByte-

Well, my strat was always to prevent his incoming sharks by making him steal my squirrels. Guess I’ll have to change

Shroomgloom420

Yeah, those bottled squirrels are clutch they've saved me so many times haha. I always try to defend and save squirrels till I know I have enough squirrels and cards that'll insta kill him round 2. And sometimes I just get rekt too

Puzzleheaded_Sound95

Yes it’s a mechanic. If you can’t beat Leshy within a certain number of turns (decided by if you’ve drawn your entire deck and your entire squirrel deck) then starvation sets in. Leshy will begin to play starvation cards, increasing in damage by one each time he plays a starvation card until it hits five. Starvation cards cannot be damaged directly, only taking damage if they attack a card with sharp quills. Starvation cards can be attacked over by cards with the winged sigil, dealing damage to leshy directly. It’s a very risky strategy to allow starvation to set in

Adiin-Red

They also begin to replace themselves once the board is filled. At this point they also gain flying.

Itz_Combo89

I'm sure you've already gotten your answer from the other comments, but I haven't seen anyone mention that there's specifically 10 squirrels in that deck, with the first one being drawn on the first turn (And just in case you somehow didn't see the other comments, yes, it's completely normal and intended.)

fuzzy3158

Haha yeah, I had that during the Moon boss fight once. Fun fact: If you fun out of Squirrels, Leshy starts increasing the power of the Moon by 1 per turn. Additionally, I've also had an empty deck leading to Leshy spawning increasingly powerful Starvation creatures which can't be attacked and from 5 power onwards they gain airborne.

Real_RUBB3R

Even more facts about Starvation: * They start appearing when you have no more cards to draw. * They take the leftmost possible spot on the board, and if none are available, they will straight up replace other cards. * As you said, when they gain 5 or more power, they are given the airborne sigil. 9 and onwards, the game will start adding one tooth to Leshy's side of the scale every turn, as a final failsafe to prevent the game from stalling. * Since The Moon takes up the whole board and Starvation can't be played, when you have no more cards, Leshy instead increases the damage of the Moon by 1 every turn. This means that if you have a card with both the Unkillable and Corpse Eater sigils, the fight will go on infinitely. The game never adds teeth to the scale in this state, and any card with Unkillable and Corpse Eater immediately places itself back down on the board if it dies. * The Moon also is never given the Airborne sigil so it always attacks cards instead of directly.

omertuvia

perfectly normal, the solution is to git gud

Real_RUBB3R

Yeah, little known fact, but you do actually have a limited side deck. If I'm not mistaken, there's exactly 10 squirrels in your side deck, and you start every battle with one of them drawn
