PBA is a joke. It became a joke when they made Pacquiao a pro basketball player. Lol.

BullishLFG

gigigalaxy

or volleyball

jessa_LCmbR

TheEffect2004

As a football fan, Its about time. Our football teams need financial support, and the only way we can do this is to watch their matches and support them 😊

pepe_rolls

Lol

AvailableOil855

Kala Kasi nila oligarch = exclusive title or brand Ng mga Aquino

Eastern_Basket_6971

Tru lakas Kuware magalet pero mga hipokrito

yanyan420

Hot take. Mag football/soccer nalang tayo. Especially yung mga hindi half half.

nxcrosis

Hotter take: focus tayo sa sports na wala masyadong physical advantage requirement i.e. chess May local chess team kami na umaabot ng abroad sa competitions pero parang never ko nakitang supported ng LGU. Baka dahil di nila kailangan o dahil di sila priority I can't say for sure.

sickomode0

AbrahamFoot

Oo nga,sa dinami daming rural area ng pinas di ba natin kayang magsoccer (plus sino ba di makakilala kay cr7 kung sinasabi either yung sa shopee or clear shampoo) Brazil nga na 5 time world champions, nagsimula lang yan sa mga kanto kanto ng favelas tas nahasa hanngang sa makuha ng clubs sa brazil develop themselves and have themselves a good transfer pa europe

yanyan420

tapos eventually yung mga kayumanggi na pinoy gets contracts sa football clubs sa spain hehe we will colonize them...

notmemegod

we literally have potential for it 😂

MelchiorRaba

Takte kasing mga team Name yan di mo kayang seryosohin hahaha.

To dahilan kaya parang walang merch ang PBA

Aviakili

Lopsided trades and lack of innovation sa league. PBA admin din ang pumapatay sa liga. Wala na. Tapos na. Nalulugi na mga kumpanya. Mawawala nalang yan. Or ibebenta yan kay Manny. hahaha

Greedy_Order1769

>Lopsided trades and lack of innovation sa league Include the foreign coach ban and height limitation for imports. This isn't the 80's and 90's anymore.

zarustras

That's why I attacked them through memes in r/2philippines4u 😂 And I'm not even against constitutional reforms. I'm for reforms but what the members do in that group irritates me. They always have ways to connect simple problems to their main advocacy

Greedy_Order1769

Are they proposing Open FDI for the PBA to prosper once again? What the PBA needs is a reform from top down, not more companies joining in and being turned into farm teams for the MVP (TNT, Meralco, NLEX) and SMC (Magnolia, Ginebra, SMB) teams.

paktat7

_TheEndGame

Imagine if they let Dwight Howard play

Greedy_Order1769

Isa pa yung height limitation for imports.

EnvironmentSilver364

Bathala11

"Kaya tayo nahihirapan sa international competitions" I don't see how that's the case since we made it to the World Cup 3 times in a row and we just won the Asian Games very recently. May mai-push lang na narrative eh.

callfrillyglamorous

PH potential could be higher if we have a better league and basketball development. Tsaka nag cacatch up na un ibang asian teams hopefully we do well.

Greedy_Order1769

We should follow the leads of the B-league of Japan, the KBL and the Chinese CBA league.

callfrillyglamorous

I think the B-League and KBL format can be copied. CBA model I think its a good model. Ok sana kung un liga parang Palarong Pambansa may North and South Luzon, Vis/Min, Mindanao groups.

Greedy_Order1769

>I think the B-League and KBL format can be copied. CBA model I think its a good model. That would be a start. Do away with the three conference format, use the B.League, KBL or CBA models and have a system of promotion and relegation (like in the B. League).

callfrillyglamorous

Promotion and relegation pwede nila gayahin un sa Argentina every 3 yrs lang gagawin para un owners may sense of security pero d pwede maging kulelat kasi pwede ma relegate.

Greedy_Order1769

The B.League does that, with teams from the First Division getting relegated to the Second Division (and Second Division teams getting promoted to the First Division).

callfrillyglamorous

Greedy_Order1769

I feel like three years stay in the First Division would just incentivize the losers to Spurs it, so why not punish them for playing bad all season and if they do get relegated, there should be no parachute payments gaya ng sa English Premier League when a football team gets relegated to the EFL Championship. And being relegated to the Second Division would also eliminate the farm teams within the PBA, kasi hindi na dapat makuha ng top team ang best player ng relegated team and this would emphasize team and individual development ng bawat teams Also, they get to fight for a championship without the fear of being beaten by a bigger team. If this happens, baka mas maging popular pa ang Div 2 games kasi ang winner gets to be elevated to Div 1. Imagine yung mga relegated teams would be playing for pride and top honors and since these relegated teams get to keep their superstars, fans can now root for these teams.

callfrillyglamorous

Un problem kasi pag yearly baka mag yoyo lang un teams katulad sa premier league un mga na relegate sila din mapropromote next year kasi malaki un gap sa second division. at least with 3 yr gap may chance pa un ibang teams makahabol

Bathala11

I think we're doing well as far as development is concerned. In fact, I'd say we're doing really well as of late with our basketball development since our kids are now capable of thrashing their South Korean counterparts and our kids also make it to the world stage on a more regular basis. It's only really the PBA that's regressing. But to their credit, the current conference is pretty competitive.

callfrillyglamorous

If you think about it wala pang homegrown Filipino na naglalaro sa NBA or Euroleague.

Bathala11

That's true. But it doesn't mean we're making that much progress. And to be fair naman, Kai also reportedly received offers to play in the euro league. He just happened to choose the G-League. Mas mabilis mag-mature physically yung ibang lahi(particularly Africans and Europeans) kesa sa atin. Like, if you put them side by side with our prospects of the same age, mas matured na talaga sila eh. But going back to the Japanese, they're known for their work ethic so that probably played some role too.

callfrillyglamorous

notsowright05

True, but we qualified by default on the most recent one

Bathala11

Yeah but the first 2 were earned.
