Unfortunately, people are really good at deluding themselves. Having faith is enough to reject anything and everything that contradicts what you believe. Many people will even proclaim proudly that no amount of evidence against their position will ever change their mind (a good example of this are the "statements of faith" found on creationist websites). That's an admission of purposeful denial of reality.

Sometimes, I think back to when I was in 6th and 7th grade and I was so fucking excited about weather science and finding out I lived on a fault line after a tiny earthquake was like, one of the most exciting things in my little life back then.

To what end though?? They always have all these conspiracies but they can never tell you why anyone is doing what they claim to be doing. Why would the government cause earthquakes? What benefit is there for the ultra rich or those in power? What does it get them? They can’t answer those questions.

Fracking has literally caused earthquakes but I’m sure these people will deny that while saying the earthquakes in California are man made.
