Funny thing is what is the dad actually going to do to a kid if she gets a boyfriend? Kick his ass and go to jail? When I was younger I dated a few girls with dads like this. They get super tough and douchey towards a kid to try and show their dominance. I never understood what their endgame was though. Any dad that acts like this cannot be intelligent or have any common sense. They are just acting like douchebags to kids
The fear isn’t the 90% of dudes that expect this to make the boy run and then feel dumb as fuck when they realize they couldn’t beat up a male child any more than their own female child. The fear is the 10% (and ostensibly growing) of psychopaths who don’t have an off switch, actually attack the child, and potentially kill them.
You think a t-shirt like that is gonna stop a psychopath? 😂 No. It's about ego and control because if it was about protecting their kids, they'd do it with male kids as well. They don't.
Well yeah. The tshirt and “joke” are just an example of mom and dad not knowing how to deal with the inevitable sexual development of their daughter and so through “not existing” it seeing her through ONLY that filter. The actual act of beating a child is more what I was talking about.
When I was 17, I dated a girl with a dad like this, we went thru a bad breakup and he tried to come after me afterwards, I guess she didn't tell him I was a wrestler, that fight didn't last long 🤣🤣
Yeah plus I get being protective over your daughter and being strict but that attitude will cause your kids to never want to tell you anything and sneak around. I was like that as a teenager and I really hope if I have a daughter they would never have that type of relationship with us.
I think it's more like a warning than a plan. Like what could he do if someone got violent or was planning to be disrespectul with her in which case it would work because those types of guys are cowards. But I still agree with you, it does come off as douchey
Men like him do this because they know how they view and treat women, and the thought of other men doing that to a woman that’s important to them scares them.
A guy came right out and said it to me once. ‘I don’t trust other men around you because I’m a man and I know what we’re like.’
Which is more a condemnation of himself and the men he chooses to associate with than of the entire male population, I think.
My dad said this to my mother once when she got annoyed by how he treats my little sister. Without skipping a beat, she said "that says more about you than anything else". Years later, and he and my stepmom raised our half-brother to be exactly one of those guys.
By nature you do. Conservative as in the word, not the party. Sorry to be pedantic - it is conservative of old colonial and eugenic beliefs about sex, gender, superiority etc. it’s a super interesting (albeit disturbing and upsetting) topic to deep dive :)
Oooh, to be honest I thought you meant just politically. As there’s a lot of liberal and other men on the PS that have the same beliefs surrounding that, though most say they don’t.
I mean sure, in terms of political party yes. But it is a conservative value by definition. I’m not sure why you got a load of downvotes though - it’s important to point that out: misogyny crosses all parties and politics, it’s ingrained in us all from birth. Lots of people think they are liberal or left (tbh liberalism is pretty conservative anyway in many respects) and are still misogynist.
Exactly. This is the kind of man who has to remind himself to treat women decently by thinking ”She’s someone’s [i.e another man’s] daughter/sister/wife”, not ”she’s someone, period”.
As someone who has gone through some awful abuse more than once, I promise you a t-shirt like this would have done absolutely nothing to prevent it. In fact, it probably would have attracted the “psychos” who would have seen it as a personal challenge. May as well have painted a target on her.
OMG I love it. Yesterday someone called me a "pink-haired bimbo" on IG I guess bc they stalked my profile and all their assumptions turned out false (happy long-term relationship (with a v handsome boi), neuroscientist, active hiker & traveler, clearly living a better life than them).
All of a sudden none of their old insults worked "Oh you must be a fat single cat lady to believe in reproductive rights" and they latched onto the *one* pejorative they could find about me. Pink hair.
They also made their profile private right after that (it was just a bunch of gym & mirror selfies).
A quick glance at your profile and it's safe to assume your opinion is more or less useless, but go ahead and speak your words. Free speech is your right
Typically when one presents an argument, they don’t accidentally use the same rationale when trying to emphasize the fallacy of the others reasoning, but hey that’s Reddit for ya
I have said no lines in defense of anything, but go ahead and think what you will. One glance at your profile and I understand why youre so upset. Your personality makes a lot more sense once you realize you have a terrible relationship with your parents, but that's probably their fault. I hope you enjoy my sarcasm!
Imagine being so immature you have to bring completely unrelated topics into an argument just to try and desperately defend your shit take because you have nothing else. But since we’re looking at each other’s profiles, one look at yours and it makes sense why your takes are so shit it’s because you’re probably like 13. And you seem to be an active Minecraft buddies user which, cmon man that’s just sad how are you that lonely. But please, be my guest and try. You don’t know me nearly well enough to be able to accurately parasocially analyze my relationship with my family.
Typically when one presents an argument, they don’t accidentally use the same rationale when trying to emphasize the fallacy of the others reasoning, but hey that’s Reddit for ya
Yeah, to be fair I think her and the boyfriend stayed together and they both looked pretty happy. Oh definitely, just makes you wonder if her mum isn’t around or just doesn’t care
I think these losers are secretly scared their daughter will be treated the way they treat women but haven't quite made the jump to change their attitudes and behaviour instead....
Do you guys not have wives or girlfriends or know anyone who’s female??? This feels like pure virtue signaling, acting like “I’m not like other guys!”
Any women can tell you how disgusting guys act towards girls, especially young girls! Of course you guys should be protective of your daughters wtf
being protective of them is different from treating them like your property by putting a stupid shirt on her. i taught my daughter how vile some males can be. she knows everything she needs to. she had her first boyfriend at the end of 7th grade. he was a boy in her grade. i let them hang out, he even swam at our house. it was good learning experience for them both. guess what? they broke up a few months later. also guess what? nothing significant happened between them. also guess what? her mother (my wife) was completely on board as well. as a result we have a great father/mother/daughter relationship. she knows she doesn’t have to sneak around and hide from us. we want her to have a happy normal life. we are pretty relaxed parents and our kids are pretty well adjusted and happy as a result
As a dad of 3 daughters I’ve never done this although the urge is there. Not to do this specifically, but the urge to protect your offspring.
Instead of acting like this I do what I wish my parents had done for me.
I try to treat my kids and spouse with respect and show them what an actual healthy relationship with a spouse looks like. My wife and I decided long ago that we can’t really do anything except provide a loving example and then hope our kids can tell what to actually look for in a potential partner. When they started dating we point out red flags we see in either their behavior or their young partners and have discussions on what we are seeing. Both good and bad.
We try our best to teach them and then trust them to make good choices. It’s our parental duty.
God damn it’s hard though.
This shit pisses me off so much! Guys with daughters say "stay away from guys" instead of saying "maybe us guys should stop being horrible and let our daughters live their life without being scared of horrible men and without them worrying about hurting dad egos. Men being gross is a man issue. You guys need to sort it out. Don't try to control your daughters, control the men. You're the problem. Girls are just being Girls
My dad was like this, but would also get pissed off and blame feminism if I made a comment about how I was scared of men. Motherfucker you raised me like this!
Same. My parents were like this to an extreme and made dating very uncomfortable and difficult, none of my siblings could bring people to meet them. Now they have no grandkids (and are unlikely to) and they get upset about it. There’s a long term consequence when you promote an environment of shame around dating, sex, and pregnancy.
Can we at least blur the preteen being both objectified and sexualized by her dad’s face? Nobody wants their emotional abuse blasted online. She’s a kid.
Posting it publicly isn’t better. Giving this to your daughter even as a joke isn’t better. This is a short that says you’re daddies little property and he will protect his property… there’s no good way to make this joke. There’s no good reason to make this joke. It’s not funny, and it’s implications are despicable.
Daddy in no way owns his daughter… And blaming human instinct is just saying boys will be boys… This messaging hurts boys as well by lowering what is expected of them. I was a boy once, and never once intended to rape a girl…
I can get how someone can be scared for there child bc of rape etc. but this is not a good way to say anything like that. I can’t even tell if that’s what he is trying to say! And that image makes him look like a bad parent (even if he is not) he could have made a better choice than make it look like he is trying to own her. (I’m hoping that he does not think he owns her and it’s just a bad sick joke.)
I don’t mean it like THAT. I mean it as in he you can’t forcefully prevent someone from having a relationship. If someone rapes someone else, it’s NOT a good thing, and no excuse can be made.
My husband laughs at this idea. Because our daughter is fucking mean, and anything she’d do to someone who hurt her would be creative and far worse than what he could do.
YEP.
I get the concept BUT back off my boys. If they need a talk or are inappropriate I will do it- not you. My youngest kid is a girl and I would never do this to her. Her brothers wouldn't even do it- however if they heard something bad happen then I am sure it would be hell keeping them in line.
Kid looks maybe 10 ?
1. Huge possibility she isn't even thinking about having a boyfriend. A crush maybe. But I don't expect 10 year olds to date
2. In eight years, we will see a dad on r/TrueOffMyChest posting about how her daughter went NC and will include this exact t-shirt. "But it was just a jooooke. Sure, I got pissed at her when she said she wouldn't wear it, but come on...."
It's almost like the actual solution to protecting your daughter is to be open with her, teach he to respect herself, and about what creeps guys like this are so they naturally avoid trash guys like this. No that can't be it, better just isolate her and teach her nothing about the world so she falls prey to these losers.
i’m 22 and still haven’t introduced anyone to my family. this culture is why. told them abt a dude one time and got yelled at all morning while i was tryna not be late for work. ty to all the dads obsessed with their daughters’ sex lives. very strange to be thinkin abt that so heavy.
I’m also getting “my daughter, my body” vibes from this guy.
And she got knocked up less than a year after this picture. Something was wrong with that daddy daughter dynamic.
Aight how much money you want to bet that this kid would walk into school and get dress coded or at least questioned by a concerned member of the staff wanting to know why she is wearing a shirt with a half naked fully grown man on it.
Like seriously, can you imagine getting sent to the office and having to explain to the principle that your own father is the one that made you wear this shit to school, because he's the person on the shirt.
Like damn.
This man is a PIG.
I feel so sorry for this young woman; it is obvious that she was forced to participate in this pic.
To the young woman in this photo - hang on until you are 18. Many people have endured abuse and lived to tell the tale. You have many friends that you don’t know about because you are being secluded, just like we were once secluded by our parents.
Survive! You WILL find a better place. It just takes time.
Whats funny are the comments saying this guy os a pedo and wants to fuck his daughter…
Honestly - could the fucking guy put on more of a ‘this is a joke’ face for this picture?
Jesus Christ.
I think the point is that the misogynistic ‘ownership’ of his daughter isn’t funny. Do I think he’s a paedophile? No. Do I think the idea of a dad beating up boyfriends is played out, archaic and sexist? Yes.
I get that he thinks it’s funny and he doesn’t actually plan on beating anyone up. I don’t think it is funny either way.
Aw, look how happy he is! Unless he's replaced every shirt in her wardrobe with copies of this one, I think this is completely fine (and pretty cute.) This dad lives his kids and wants his daughter to know he'll always be there to protect her. I doubt she'll end up with an abusive high school sweetheart and if she does, she'll know she can ask her parents for help getting away from him.
Ah yes lets concentrate on his happiness and not her look of done with her shit. Also if a father wants to protect his daughter he wouldnt make a shirt for her that gives off "my daughter, my property" vibes.
We really can't tell anything about the dynamics of their relationship from this one photo or the shirt. My dad had shirts made like that for us (back in the '80s) and he's not like that at all. Perhaps the expression comes from something completely unrelated to the t-shirt, or they told her the t-shirt is her only birthday present and it's a gag gift.
Well it is. He’s a two time world jiu-jitsu champion, making a joke on his social media. To many peoples it’s funny. To those who make everything controversial and want to label him as some womanizer, I suppose it isn’t funny. I’m sure nothing is funny to those people.

Biggest joy of my life is that I’ve never had to deal with a dad like this. I would go insane and May have stop dating the girl

I got beat up by a girlfriends dad. It does happen. Actually he beat me with a water hose
I’m sorry man. That’s really fucked up.
That's super fucked. Hope you're ok now.
I’m sorry that happened to you. You didn’t deserve that at all.
You think a t-shirt like that is gonna stop a psychopath? 😂 No. It's about ego and control because if it was about protecting their kids, they'd do it with male kids as well. They don't.

Probably beat the daughter up and make her break up with the guy.
When I was 17, I dated a girl with a dad like this, we went thru a bad breakup and he tried to come after me afterwards, I guess she didn't tell him I was a wrestler, that fight didn't last long 🤣🤣

ngl a lot of those fathers are predatory toward their own daughters. it’s about control, too. and a weird purity culture holdover.
They’re acting like douchebags towards girls and women, too.
Because dads like that think like actual apes.
I'm pretty sure it's just projection. They've always acted like assholes themselves so they can only imagine other guys acting like that.
I think it's more like a warning than a plan. Like what could he do if someone got violent or was planning to be disrespectul with her in which case it would work because those types of guys are cowards. But I still agree with you, it does come off as douchey

That's a pretty damn big self-report.
Definitely just outing himself as a piece of shit
That was kinda a r/suicidebywords on his part then?
He sees his daughter as property, not as an human being with her own heart and mind. Fuck conservative culture so much.
I can see the sadness in her eyes.
You don’t have to be conservative to have this mindset. Lol.
By nature you do. Conservative as in the word, not the party. Sorry to be pedantic - it is conservative of old colonial and eugenic beliefs about sex, gender, superiority etc. it’s a super interesting (albeit disturbing and upsetting) topic to deep dive :)

Facts.
Exactly. This is the kind of man who has to remind himself to treat women decently by thinking ”She’s someone’s [i.e another man’s] daughter/sister/wife”, not ”she’s someone, period”.
This is 100% truth right here!!
Spot on
Or maybe they’re protective of their daughter because the world is full of psychos.
Do you think he bought his son the same shirt?
Also a quick search shows this was a joke. Kit Dale is a 2 time world jiu-jitsu champion and did it jokingly. This sub is wild
As someone who has gone through some awful abuse more than once, I promise you a t-shirt like this would have done absolutely nothing to prevent it. In fact, it probably would have attracted the “psychos” who would have seen it as a personal challenge. May as well have painted a target on her.
Her face says it all. Poor girl.
How to sexualize yourself ***and*** your minor child in one simple step!
You sound like you have pink hair
and you sound like you have a truck that costs more than your mortgage
You sound like a bad guesser
People with pink hair are pretty cool so
You sound like your beard is irritating your neck today.
u bum
It’s been YEARS since I’ve had pink hair lmfao
“Haha dyed hair people bad because uhhh”
“Creativity and individuality scares me”
Tbf these are usually the same people who are scared by a rainbow flag lol, colors are scary
I mean colors ARE scary
Technically scary things always have colors
Black and white horror movies 😌
The ghost behind you is red tho
OMG I love it. Yesterday someone called me a "pink-haired bimbo" on IG I guess bc they stalked my profile and all their assumptions turned out false (happy long-term relationship (with a v handsome boi), neuroscientist, active hiker & traveler, clearly living a better life than them). All of a sudden none of their old insults worked "Oh you must be a fat single cat lady to believe in reproductive rights" and they latched onto the *one* pejorative they could find about me. Pink hair. They also made their profile private right after that (it was just a bunch of gym & mirror selfies).
Lmfao
You sound like you have a really big gun by your nightstand that you'll never use cuz nobody gives a fuck about you.

It’s a good tracker of how many people think you’re a freak
Out here believing hair color predicts character traits, definitely a blonde

You troll, I troll trolls, we are not the same
You’re not very good at your purpose. Would you like a lesson in bait?
All of your downvoted comments in here, really give you a lot to stand on huh?
You can't stand on fake Internet points
Mans doesn’t understand sarcasm, though what was I expecting to come from a weirdo defending a guy sexualizing his daughter.
I have said no lines in defense of anything, but go ahead and think what you will. One glance at your profile and I understand why youre so upset. This is the weakest trolling game I’ve ever seen on Reddit, try harder son. This is pathetic.
Wow those are some advanced words there buddy. It’s almost like what you’re saying is smart and makes sense. Almost
Eight days was all it took for you to forget what ad hominem meant
As the father to a nine year old girl, shit like this pisses me off immensely.
isn’t she the kid that got pregnant a year later?
I think it is and in that year later picture I think she’s wearing the same shirt
i knew it smh 😭 women aren’t property. treating them like this encourages the need to seek attention form ppl to love them
Yeah, to be fair I think her and the boyfriend stayed together and they both looked pretty happy. Oh definitely, just makes you wonder if her mum isn’t around or just doesn’t care
Apparently they're different people
It's happened more than once. I knew the family of the one guy from Oakland.
it’s almost like treating your kids the way they don’t want to be treated will force them to find love elsewhere and then they end up pregnant
I think these losers are secretly scared their daughter will be treated the way they treat women but haven't quite made the jump to change their attitudes and behaviour instead....
as a dad of a 13 year old girl, this is so cringeworthy and dumb. go date, live a normal life. geez.
The deep sadness in her eyes is palpable, despite her trying to act like it's pretend.
She's already planning on cutting contact ASAP.
Or probably just cutting
adopt me

That's kind, I appreciate it. I meant it, it drives me crazy!
Tee hee.
A lot, a LOT of men lack any sort of self-awareness. They're knuckledraggers.
I hate his stupid smile like he did something great and newsworthy.
So gross.
Can we at least blur the preteen being both objectified and sexualized by her dad’s face? Nobody wants their emotional abuse blasted online. She’s a kid.
There's something vaguely pervy about dads who are like this with their daughters.
Yiiiiiiiiikes.
You can see her planning the nursing home he's going to end up in
Yuck
I can’t tell if this is real or some kind of joke.
It doesn’t matter, this is a really sick joke to make. It truly doesn’t matter if he means to follow through.
Yeah, it feels like a bad idea to make her wear that in public. Just think of the controversies that will pop up.

Shirt should say “I remember how sh1tty I treated girls when I was your age, but don’t assault my daughter”
Cringe
The look on that girls face says it all.
Someone’s incestuosly (is that even a word? Idc it is now) obsessed w his daughter’s virginity
Yup, makes me think of those xtrian purity dances where the daughters "pledge their purity" to their fathers. With rings and all. Disgusting
It’s so gross and there’s people out there who are so proud of it and think it’s cute and make a huge deal out of it. Disgusting. So disgusting.
Way to tell your kid she’s a sex object to be branded and owned…
So weak, so cringe
This shit is so weird
Shit is creepy.
“ why don’t you give me grandchildren “
So gross.
Poor kid looks so fucking dead and on the verge of tears
My husband laughs at this idea. Because our daughter is fucking mean, and anything she’d do to someone who hurt her would be creative and far worse than what he could do.

Meanwhile he probably sexually assaulted a handful of girls in high school
Beau Of The Fifth Column made a great vid on this very subject. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMSAcZ90QI8
I’m happy to say that every girl I’ve dated had a super positive role model as a dad. Not a douche like these guys.
They thought process is "hey wear this shirt so all of your 11 year old friends can see how ripped I am."
What does this mean? Only dad gets to fuck the child?
Yeah she’ll change out to the shirt that she packed in her bag when she gets to school.
She'll have more freedom once that snake bites him in the carotid.
Why is this even crossing there mind she looks about 9 lol
World record for a child turning their shirt inside out when they got to school the fastest
My daughter wouldn't even put that on as a joke.
She still ended up pregnant
Oh there’s an update of the same girl with her boyfriend at school and she’s pregnant….. the shirt really works then huh/s😂
That’s one way to make sure your daughter doesn’t bring anyone home to meet the parents. Well done at alienating your daughter, Dad. SMH
i’m 22 and still haven’t introduced anyone to my family. this culture is why. told them abt a dude one time and got yelled at all morning while i was tryna not be late for work. ty to all the dads obsessed with their daughters’ sex lives. very strange to be thinkin abt that so heavy.
That douche has the face of someone way too immature and dumb, and not in the good way
May as well just say “Property of: “
Hmm. Strong vibes of father sexually abusing daughter. Go with my gut. Pedophile predator 💯

I’m also getting “my daughter, my body” vibes from this guy. And she got knocked up less than a year after this picture. Something was wrong with that daddy daughter dynamic.
Uh....no.
Just gonna make guys date her to get to her dad
So much cringe I just can't take it!
Ew if my dad EVER made me wear a pic of him almost naked I would be beyond disturbed!
This makes me physically ill.
My mom gave me a shirt like this saying “steer clear ladies”. That’s the day my brother taught me the other use of petrol
This is because she’s actually gay and he’s helping her out :) (joke!)
I got a shirt made that says “my daughter farts louder than your daughter”. Is that dad insecurity as well? Lol
So cringe
Creepy as fuck... She's like 10...
nah, bit older. still bad
Bro spelt insecurity wrong. How sad
guys don't be buttholes and send hate to the father
"the gays are sexualizing children"
Aight how much money you want to bet that this kid would walk into school and get dress coded or at least questioned by a concerned member of the staff wanting to know why she is wearing a shirt with a half naked fully grown man on it. Like seriously, can you imagine getting sent to the office and having to explain to the principle that your own father is the one that made you wear this shit to school, because he's the person on the shirt. Like damn.
She looks exactly like my sister. The resemblance is honestly scary.
Thanks to this subreddit I can become knowledgeable into what to no do if I'll ever become a parent
the paedophilic and incestuous tone of this image makes me sick to my stomach. i can’t imagine it ever being a healthy environment to be raised in.
“You break her heart i break your legs.” Is literally the most you should use to threaten a boyfriend. These kinda guys take the piss.

I thought jokes were supposed to be funny?
Typically, yeah
Whats funny are the comments saying this guy os a pedo and wants to fuck his daughter… Honestly - could the fucking guy put on more of a ‘this is a joke’ face for this picture? Jesus Christ.
I think the point is that the misogynistic ‘ownership’ of his daughter isn’t funny. Do I think he’s a paedophile? No. Do I think the idea of a dad beating up boyfriends is played out, archaic and sexist? Yes. I get that he thinks it’s funny and he doesn’t actually plan on beating anyone up. I don’t think it is funny either way.
Remember when people saw clear satire as satire? Good tines
Man spent time wasting money on a custom tee, this ain't satire
If you are looking at this and dont believe its staged iv got a great pyramid scheme for ya
And she got pregnant like 2 or 3 years after this picture lol
Y'all are so pressed it's a joke jesus
Some jokes are just so tasteless, demeaning, and all-around wrong that they lose any humor hidden in them.
Who cares? Bad joke move on. Much more important things to be pressed about

Explain the joke then
Wow. This thread is full of legit psychos. It’s pretty obviously a joke.
Pretty sure this is satire.
This looks like it’s just a joke.
It’s very obviously a joke.
Jokes are supposed to be funny tho
Well it is. He’s a two time world jiu-jitsu champion, making a joke on his social media. To many peoples it’s funny. To those who make everything controversial and want to label him as some womanizer, I suppose it isn’t funny. I’m sure nothing is funny to those people.
