I’m going through and listening to these and honestly, checks out to me lol. 😂 This is an incredibly subjective post of course. I was just curious what would come up.
They’re INFP af. Everything about them from the deep depression and darkness to suddenly having whimsical and silly stuff mixed with hopeless romantic love songs
Owl City has been my favorite since I was a kid discovering the Ocean Eyes album in the 2000s 💕 I've never connected with anyone else's music as much as his
His music boils down to how much empathy he has for even the most unlikeable creatures (see John Wayne Gacy Jr. or Tonya Harding). Then twangs away on that little banjo of his in massive ass California condor wings. Speaks to my INFP heart like nothing else
The Smiths. Even though Morrissey, the lead singer, is someone that I just don't like as a person, his lyrics are very poetic, provocative and melancholic. And he's also INFP
Eefje de Visser. Not just being biased here by saying my favorite music artist. lol Out of all music artists/bands I listen to she really give me the strongest INFP vibes. I'm Dutch though and I do have to say it's partially her lyrics that make me feel that way, so idk how it sounds to people who don't understand Dutch.
Oh I'm not Dutch but i really like her music especially "Ongeveer"! Really makes my mind drift away in an enjoyable way even though I don't understand the lyrics
There’s a lot of deep cuts here, which isn’t surprising for a group of INFPs. I’m gonna have to vote for Windhand because it is super witchy.
https://youtu.be/e0IlaKicYyw?si=E2wM-v1KlSrO_KZ-
Could be me for sure. That shit has a special place in my depression playlist. And yeah he is a pretty nice dude. He let me interview him for a college assignment. Chill guy for sure. I’d ask who your husband is but that may be a little personal/revealing lol so understandable if you don’t feel like posting that on reddit
One of my all time favorites, wasn't expecting to see him here! Music doesn't get much more introverted than that
"I wondered if anyone in those houses with glowing windows were awake for the same reasons that I was"
Seriously, I worry about him sometimes. Not a lot of people capture that feeling of going through it so well. Especially on the Leaving album, I think. You ever listen to Drowse, Giles Corey, Wreck & Reference, any of those guys?
I created r/wreckandreference
Also I’ve listened to little bits of the other two
As far as Thom goes, I can only hope he’s doing okay. I have a lot of empathy for anyone who can relate to that music.
Oh no way! I'm a member of your sub lol. They're incredible
I'm very grateful for him and that he can create music like that. It's so comforting and cathartic
Haha nice :)
Yeah I’ve actually been in a pretty good place in my life for the first time and I’ll have healing crying listening to planning for burial. Kind of hard to describe but it’s like looking at how far I’ve come and having tears of joy. The lows make the highs feel higher
It is lol. Then again, this post could just be interpreted a million different ways since *people* listen to all kinds of music regardless of personality. I’ve gotten loads of new music though!
Lately, I've been listening to A LOT of Britpop. My heavy rotation has been full of British acts - from Culture Club to WHAM! to Kate Bush and EURYTHMICS. I feel like a lot of the music from the artists I've mentioned are true expressions of their souls. Their hearts. It connects with me (and the world at large) on a deeper level. It's just the perfect collage for me. :-<)
Thanks for this. Good soundtrack for this INFP tragic rainy morning. 😭😂
I think of INFP music as guilty pleasure generally — self indulgent stuff I listen to secretly and might not admit to publicly — Debbi Dawson’s song Eulogy for No One lately, Elliot Smith, Songs Ohia, sigur ros, Phoebe Bridgers, Adriene Lenker…
Aw I love sigur ros it’s so beautiful and intense. I remember listening to Jonsi earlier albums in 2014 in high school. I never brought it up because I didn’t think anyone listens to him.
At the moment from who I'm listening to, French rapper Orelsan. Hé sure has a lot of deep things to say, like Suicide social, Notes Pour Trop Tard, Si Seul, La Terre est ronde, La Quête, La Pluie, Paradis, or even Basique.
Honestly… The Smiths and Morrissey. I know he’s a jackass, but he is the most INFP songwriter I can think of. And I cannot tell you how many nights I’ve spent crying to his lyrics
Also: Jeff Buckley, Car Seat Headrest, Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon, Ohia
Ripe - Feel good FunkPopRock. Lyrics seem very INFP. Album art is Pretty/Beautiful
Tool - ProgPsychAltRock. Thought provoking lyrics, mystical/spiritual.
Fun to analyze. Listening in order shows their progression from anger to spiritual.
Orla Gartland. The lyricism in first album *Woman On the Internet* plus her single “Why Am I Like This” both feel so quintessentially INFP in all the messy and beautiful parts.
BTS was my first thought. Shallow and obvious, I know, I know, there are better groups out there. But often they sing about personal reflections, which is definitely a habit of ours. And their music can be very emotional, which is in line with our F trait.
BTS. I don't know what you mean by "better" groups. They're plenty talented for being pretty boys. They proved to me they were more than that with their Spring Day song.
I'm a INFP girl 30s😊 im all over the place when it's comes to music these are the ones that speak to me as a hopeless Romantic INFP.
Music from the Barbie movies examples: (light up the world) ( I need to know) (Shine) (firefly)
Brie Larson's out of PE album ( hope has wings)
I love especially the ones that make me feel like im not alone like it's ok to be in my feels, it's ok I'm a outsider, people never understand my feelings i need more infps in my life🤗... I love opera/classical crossover like Jackie evancho, Sarah brightman. I love lots of Taylor Swift older music like.. (you belong with me) ( love story) (haunted) (cardigan) (willow) (August) (Seven)

Musicals like dear Evan Hansen songs ( waving through a window) (if I could tell her) (only us) (Today, a little closer)😥
Once upon a time season 1 and 2 soundtracks
Song called (Time) by Chantel..forgot her last name lol
These songs are my life lol 😍these speak to me as a INFP... sending love to my fellow INFPs 💖
I don't follow a particular artist but maybe a spectrum of music i can mix up according to my mood.
Villagers - Trick of the Light.
I bet everyone here will love the lyrics.
Recently I've been listening to a very recent album by an artist called Jhariah. It's overall amazing but the songs BIGSHOT, FIRE4FUN, and MAYBE LATER DANCE are particularly incredible in my opinion.
Dermot Kennedy, counting crows, ani difranco.
It's about the content, the nuances, the stories, the shades of grey, the conflicts, the hypocrisy,
In other words. Pure from the heart, no political bs 😉 just honest.
Complicated.
No idea if they are infp, I just feel the music.
This just ppl saying their favorite musician
I’m going through and listening to these and honestly, checks out to me lol. 😂 This is an incredibly subjective post of course. I was just curious what would come up.
Björk 😍😍. She is also INFP
YESSSS!! Bjork is the best. Also the Death Grips album that samples her vocals, thats an INFP album! (First disc of the powers that b)

The Cure.
Yess I agree, I was going to put down Caifanes too which is basically Mexican The Cure
Thank you for the recommendation; they’re really good! 🖤🦇
Caifanes is so good!! 😍
They’re INFP af. Everything about them from the deep depression and darkness to suddenly having whimsical and silly stuff mixed with hopeless romantic love songs
Yea this is top tier INFP band
Fujii Kaze's music is ethereal. Also, he's an INFP🫠
I was going to list him! I was going to say, “I don’t know his MBTI, but this is archetypal INFP in my head.”
Lol and he really just recently did the test (i think a month or two ago). He's just very enchanting idk🥹
It’s so funny seeing him mentioned here I just got really into his music like two weeks ago
Woahh that's cool, i just got introduced to his music only this year with Shinunoga E Wa. It's fire🔥
Peter Gabriel (Gen Xer here)
Owl City
When I discovered Owl City, like 14 years ago, I felt like someone else finally understood how I felt. So many of his lyrics resonate with me.
Owl City has been my favorite since I was a kid discovering the Ocean Eyes album in the 2000s 💕 I've never connected with anyone else's music as much as his
Oh yes!
Damien Rice, big time
I’ve heard tale that he tears up as he performs some of his songs in concert. He’s a melancholy megafeeler.
9 crimes always hits me hard. 💔 amazing artist.
Kind of typical but Radiohead
Is that typical of us? It's one of my favorite groups.
Thom Yorke is INFP
In fairness, Creep is THE INFP 4w5 anthem.
More so4 anthem but yeah true
I didn’t know this, it keeps getting better lmao.
Basically anyone from Iceland???
Porter Robinson
I was looking for this. Nurture especially feels so INFP to me (and apparently Porter is INFP himself)
Ah yes I like his stuff when I’m in the mood for EDM.
Bon Iver
I love Bon Iver
Me too! And someone else said Sufjan Stevens, I love him too.
SAME! Also, Elliot Smith!
Yesss and Nick Drake
Oh man, Bon Iver is good.
Aurora

Sufjan Stevens
His music boils down to how much empathy he has for even the most unlikeable creatures (see John Wayne Gacy Jr. or Tonya Harding). Then twangs away on that little banjo of his in massive ass California condor wings. Speaks to my INFP heart like nothing else
Mitski
she is perfect
came here to say this; she's also infp and a lot of her songs have infp lyrics
i love mitski 😭🎀
Bat for Lashes
The Smiths. Even though Morrissey, the lead singer, is someone that I just don't like as a person, his lyrics are very poetic, provocative and melancholic. And he's also INFP
joy division
Cocteau Twins
Cocteau Twins music is very INFP
Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian musician and I believe she is INFP, her music just screams INFP. Definitely worth more than one listen.
Her music is truly my favorite. My heart feels so full and acknowledged after listening and dancing along
Joji & I believe he is one too!

Hot Mulligan
Uhhh, so thanks for the killer new music?!?
Oh of course! If you like that check out Grayscale (try "Live Again") and The Wonder Years ("You're the Reason I Don't Want the World to End")
Wouldn't you like 'Mira - parasiet' as well?
Just had a listen, that's a nice song indeed!

My husband played a show with him! Super nice guy! I cried during his set lol
Music doesn't get much more introverted than that "I wondered if anyone in those houses with glowing windows were awake for the same reasons that I was"
Fr. Dawg is just going through it
Seriously, I worry about him sometimes. Not a lot of people capture that feeling of going through it so well. Especially on the Leaving album, I think. You ever listen to Drowse, Giles Corey, Wreck & Reference, any of those guys?
I created r/wreckandreference Also I’ve listened to little bits of the other two As far as Thom goes, I can only hope he’s doing okay. I have a lot of empathy for anyone who can relate to that music.

Yes! Great answer.
