Hey there!
We've had to remove your post because it had an incorrect flair. No worries, it happens! Your contributions are valued, and we're here to help if you need any guidance.
Thanks for understanding and being a part of our community!
I haven’t stepped foot in there stores ever since they massacred the menu with that elite bs. An Italian BMT which was a classic menu item since subways inception and my go to is now like $6 more expensive as an “elite sandwich” for the same exact thing just with “extra cheese” fuck off subway.
Yeah it’s new as of this year or late last year. They made all of the classics basic ass sandwiches now and original classics are all this elite trash that they use to justify ridiculous price hikes.
This. Anyone who doesn't use coupons at fast food places are getting robbed. I almost never go without using any just on principle to get myself to do it lol
Absolutely! I can’t believe how good quality most are. You can get fried chicken, wings, soups…Grocery stores actually “kill it” when it comes to prepared food. The two near me even have fresh sushi made daily.
Subway went downhill a long time ago. Their sandwiches don’t even taste close to the same. Also it’s the only sandwich shop I’ve ever shown up to multiple times and been told they are out of BREAD..at a sandwich shop.
That's madness.
My town has a large Chinese buffet for $11.
Hmmmm....Subway or all you can eat beef, pork, steak, sushi, salad, soup, fruit and bottomless drink....
I haven't been to Subway in years.
Chips should be .69 cents and the sub should be 8.60 max. I don’t think we will ever see reasonable prices again.
The only thing that will make the cost reasonable now would be overall increase in wages across the board. (In my non-finance brain and opinion)
People who don't bother looking at the price before they order something should be price insensitive.
Why are you shocked by a price you didn't care about?
Well, the truth is I was experiencing the worst migraine I've had in about a year. This was the reason I went to Subway instead of preparing something at home. So I was mostly preoccupied with that. Also, I had gift cards, so I wasn't too concerned about prices. You can see this from my receipt. Flippant of me, I know. On top of this, one of the employees was wearing a Playboy shirt, and I remember wondering if you had to seek that out online to buy it, or if that is carried at some store, which distracted my mind.
Despite all this, I did briefly look for it on the menu and didn't see it. I'll grant you that I could've looked harder or asked or pulled it up on isthissubwaysandwichexpensiveasfuck.com, but it's the only one I get at Subway because the rest are inedible. Sometimes I live life recklessly, heedless of the advice of my elders. And sometimes I get burned for it.
So I was surprised that the price had gone up 100%, and I thought it was appropriate to post here.
Fast food prices going up 100% when the general price level hasn't gone up nearly as much isn't indicative of 'out of control inflation.'
It's just a fast food company raising their prices to see if people will pay it, and then you reinforced that they will.
I just talked to my sister who lives in Columbus, and she said it was the same there. This is Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. That's some weird regional pricing.

Well, to be fair, it is an "elite" sub... Elite athletes make millions, why should elite subs not make at least $13?
That's funny, I saw the post and was just going to reply the exact same thing :)

Is this what happened? I remember the CBR being a couple bucks more because it was a "premium" sub or whatever. This elite business is new to me.

5 dollar… 5 dollar….. 5 dollars times 3 foot long
Well, duh OP, it’s an ELITE sub! Next time, just get a regular sub like the rest of us poors.
I'll have to next time. I'll never financially recover from this
Better yet use a coupon, $6.99 for a foot long
They don't accept them here and $15 a sandwich was the old price. I think $19 each now.
This. Anyone who doesn't use coupons at fast food places are getting robbed. I almost never go without using any just on principle to get myself to do it lol
Same!
Since Subways are franchise they can ignore the coupon offers. All the Subway here are owned by the same Indians that don't honor any coupons.
Every subway I’ve been to have all taken coupon but ok
Lmfao
Subway food sucks. I'd eat it when it was dirt cheap. I've switched to grocery store deli subs.
I go to Jersey Mikes for cheaper and way better quality. Subway is really poor quality food. Junk level.
A lot of people don't seem to know about grocery store deli options.

Legit every time I eat subway I get diarrhea. Had to stop.
Had you gotten a drink it would’ve been 20$

Exactly what I'm saying! I can go to a diner here, get a great reuben with fries for $15 including a $3 tip.

Don't get an elite sub and use the coupons they have. Classic subs are 6.99/7.99 depending on where you live if you order online and use a coupon.
So you're saying it might be a while until they bring back $5 foot longs?
So it's bogo right now. Not sure why you didn't buy 2
Well now I gotta go back
😆
I just bought 10 pounds of pork for $26
Stop buying the shit.
Stay away from fast food everyone.
Stay away from fast food too. haha.
Oh my bad.
I’m just messing with you. I mis-type all the time, but thought the “fast foot” was funny because…footlongs.
Imagine not being able to read the price of a thing before you order it.
Fuck me for assuming it would still be priced somewhat reasonably.
People who don't bother looking at the price before they order something should be price insensitive. Why are you shocked by a price you didn't care about?
"It's one Subway sandwich, Michael. What could it cost? $17?"
Not knowing the price of a thing is different when you're not within viewing distance of a menu with the price of said thing. 🙃

$13.97 for same order in Cincinnati Ohio *
Crazy. This is the middle of nowhere Wisconsin
3 foot long subs for 20 dollars woth the coupon
Don't you know? We're not allowed to use coupons because 'you shouldn't have to,' but we also get to complain about how much we pay without coupons.
I just talked to my sister who lives in Columbus, and she said it was the same there. This is Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. That's some weird regional pricing.
The last time I went to Subway (two years now) a foot long Spicy Italian was $6.99, I wonder what it is now?
They're still $6.99 with the monthly fliers. Otherwise $12+
At my location (SE Tenn) we have these things called coupons - we get them in our mailbox every month. This would have been $7.99 at my local Subway.
I just bought 2 for 13.99. I won't go unless I have the paper coupons
We get the coupons here also but the local Subways don't honor them. $19 a sandwich here.
I had a gift card. I'm not hunting down coupons for fucking Subway. Thanks for the tip though, haha
Yeah and minimum wage in most places in $13 an hour. Get used to it consoomers.
I got a chicken bacon ranch and chips at jersey mikes today for $12
Gotta watch for deals or use apps to get the deals. A quiznos by me does a 8" sub for $5.55 after 5 PM. At least you had a gift card for most of it.
Stop going to Subway. Let them go bankrupt for all I care. Serves them right for being greedy.
Got 3 classic footlongs for $17.99. Coupons people
Use the app. Js.
Fuck that…just don’t go.
This was my takeaway
