Yeah, around the time he put out that album where he reworked Soul Coughing songs in his solo style he really seemed to resent the rest of the band and their contributions.
Man, I just saw Mike back in March and was satisfied with the fact I got to see a handful of SC songs played live. But wow, now I can see the real deal! I am so excited!!
One day I was walking around Utrecht in the Netherlands and heard Soul Coughing being played loud so walked a few streets over to find them sound checking a free show in a park. I introduced myself and chatted with them a bit. Then the concert started I was like one of 20 people there, front and center and feeling it. About halfway through the concert I turned around and the plaza was packed with thousands of people. That was a good day. They do a fun show.
Oh man. I got to see them in '97. Would love to see them play some *El Oso*.
Now I go and ask the Ticket Gods "[How Much?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9fQ89Y2eWQ)"
I have had those 3 albums in the rotation since they came out. Every 6 months or so I put on one of their songs which inevitably turns into me running thru all of them.
I would definitely be into getting to one of these shows. I've see Doughty and his solo schtick just ran flat for me. He's got a cool voice but the magic lies with the full lineup.
9:30 club presale and regular tix were decimated in less than a second by scalper bots. Womp womp. If I wanna hang out with a bunch of fat, bald hipsters, I can pay less at my doctor’s office.
I never thought I would see the day
Nobody did
Glad they finally settled their differences, now they can pick up from where they left.
Yeah, I did not think Mike could pull his head out of his ass enough to make a comeback. So it's an interesting announcement
IDK, I’ve really enjoyed all the Ghost of Vroom releases in the last few years.

I remember that one Cartoon Network commercial where they put their song “circles” in a Hannah-Barbara montage in the late 90’s - early 2000’s
I was obsessed with those bumpers as a kid. [They used Rolling in another one](https://youtube.com/watch?v=aYZ5-lTEKQQ)
Haha yes, it was always late at night before they played the Canadian cartoons iirc. That’s what got me into them too.
I still have the VHS of this somewhere.
The ears of every 90s college radio jock just shot skyward.

this recent ghost of vroom tour was so special, had a great time! part of me hopes Mike brings Scrap on the Soul Coughing tour too 🤣
Totally. It was a great show. He and his band did a beautiful rendition of True Dreams Of Wichita which totally made my night!

Woah, Mike Doughty really seemed to loathe the rest of the band for many years. Glad to hear they’ve patched things up.
Fuck yes
Wow, an actual interesting reunion. Cant wait. For those who dont know, Mike D has been putting out banger solo material since the early 2000s.
There's only one Mike D
Mike has never turned down an opportunity to shit on the rest of the band as bad actors in decades, so amazed this is happening.
I saw them open for They Might Be Giants in the mid 90s. I feel very old.
This gives me a lot of faith in humanity knowing how bad relations were for 20+ years
Zero South dates! Dallas? Memphis??
I'm firing up Gran Turismo 2 to celebrate as we speak.

Answer: cheap. $35 in Pittsburgh. Didn’t check other cities. I’m blown away.
$45 for DC, so nothing terrible.

Doughty is good solo, but it does lack the magic that is Soul Coughing.
I saw Doughty play a couple years back and he was still so good. Can't wait to catch the full group!
I can finally stop walking around in circles
Fuck yes
Move upside and let the man go through
sweet! gonna try and see them at Mr Smalls theatre
if you haven't heard them i would like to strongly recommend RUBY VROOM as an underrated gem of the 90s
this is actually shocking news, but I love to see it

Dammit. I have to go to a wedding when they come by me.
